    I really appreciate the "why you do this" parts of your instruction. Most others just say "do it like this" with no explanation why.

    *I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*

    Easy to use touch screen, can stop and re-set time ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB and temp at any point in the cooking process, unlike some of these (an Ultrean model we returned) that need to time down first to re-set, which waste power and time. Stays cool externally and the 3 beeps when done aren't that bad, 5 beeps for Shake reminder on the pre-sets. So far chiken, pork chops, grilled cheese, hot dogs, asparagus with prosciutto, frozen sweet potato fries, have all turned out really well. Holds 4 average drummies which works well for 2 people. The recipe booklet is great. This size unit doesn't take up too much space on the counter-top so that's a bonus. We're looking forward to using it even more in the summer instead of the oven, to keep the house cooler when we aren't barbequing. Less cleanup than with an oven. The detachable inner basket is easy to use, no problem with the screws as some have commented, but a simple screw driver would remedy that if it happens. We really love this little gizmo!!

    My husband is really going to appreciate these tips. Fried chicken is his favorite and I sometimes have trouble getting it crispy enough; letting it rest 15 minutes on a rack is going to be a game changer! I heard you on judge john hodgman or some npr show a while ago and knew I should look you up and I was right.

    Just found your channel. To me a tutorial should make anyone who watches it feel as they are being talked to directly. Not feel like they’re being talked over. You do that in spades.😁 Unless of coarse it’s an advanced training one. You explained every detail and the why of every detail. Bravo.👏 So many others fail miserably. Nothing more frustrating than watching a how to video with 10 minutes of hi I’m _____ and I’m going to show you how to_____. Then 2 min. of getting everything ready. And the next thing you know it’s already to be put in the _____. Then it’s done. I hope you like my video, see you next time. If you’re not a full time teacher, you should be.

    Great recipe that I'll definitely use. Thank you. Whenever I use my mister to spray food like that, I put the pan into my sink (or you can put it over the sink if yours is divided) then the over-spray goes into the sink and not on the countertops and nearby stuff.

    I know this video is 2 years old and I sincerely hope you get this comment. I tried this recipe tonight and I was so shocked at how delicious this was! We recently processed 23 of our chickens and my dad won't eat them (he's old and cranky). He says he only likes fried chicken. Well, he ate this down to the bone! it was a little bit more work for me since I have never done this before, but I was so glad I did! The breast meat cut with a fork. It was tender, juicy, and just amazing. I can't say it enough! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

    I normally don’t comment on things. But this is the best chicken I have ate in a long time. We chose to use chicken wings which were so nice and juicy. We bought the Omni plus a few days ago and this is the first recipe we tried. I also cut up fresh potatoes to make fries and did both at the same time. I am still going to have to work on that lol. But thank you so much for this video. I have also watched a lot of your other videos on the Omni since there wasn’t very many out there. They are very informative and are helping me become more comfortable with the Omni. So thank you so much.

    Thank you! I've been cooking for over 50 years but air fryers are new to me. Thank you for the lesson in how to do 'Southern" fried chicken in the airfryer. PS I guess someone should have told my Italian mother that the way she made fried chicken was 'Southern'. Having never been to the south before she was 45, she would have been very surprised, LOL. Don't know why the south has claimed that way of frying chicken, but ok - let them, it can make up for how bad the okra and hominy is ;)

But this was the best compliment I've ever gotten, and you really made my day.

    Great video, I'm going to give this recipe a try. I do have As a suggestion though. Why don't you use metal rack from inside your air fryer during the prep stage of your chicken recipe? That way, you can transfer the prepped chicken all at once versus having to hand-transfer each piece individually and possibly losing parts of the coating.

    Very good recipe!! I exclusively fry my chicken in the air fryer now. It tastes so much more like chicken instead of oil. Tip especially with chicken that has skin the oil in the skin will add moisture to the flour as well so I don’t spray the dry spots with oil until I check halfway usually it’s only a few spots that need oil. Also substituting 1/4 cup white flour with whole wheat makes a perfect golden crust.

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you! Great idea about the whole wheat flour. I actually find as well that if you let it sit a lot longer than 15 mins it soaks up the flour as well. Another thing I do, but forgot to mention, is take a paper towel and dip it int he egg wash and just pat any dry flour.

    I made this and the rotisserie chicken last night because I had two fryers that needed to be cooked. When I tell you this chicken was good, baby it was good! I was ready to fight the children! I've fried a lot of chicken and this is my favorite method!

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 роки тому +2

      Yes m'am that rotisserie chicken is definitely "fight the children Hunger Games style" worthy, lol. One of our favorite dinners. If you don't have a fryer but one of the bigger chickens, I have a video on how to rotisserie a larger bird. And fi you want to kick it up a notch, use my method of placing foil on the bottom and then place potatoes or veggies on it so the dripping juice and fat from the chicken drips on the veggies.

    There definitely has to be Goya Adobo seasoning when cooking or your not cooking. I also like the flavour the Oliver Oil Pam adds to the flavor of the air fried wings. I am going to try this recipe as soon as my highly allergic (dairy, eggs, wheat, and soy) child is not home.

    • @LanaUnderPressure

    I made my first batch of air fried chicken today. I was just guessing how to do it & wound up doing it remarkably like this. Except. I dont have an oil sprayer. So I mixed some oil into breadcrumbs & used that on top of the batter. It was great. But my digital fryer preset was 20 min @ 400°. At the end my meat thermometer said only 160° f. So zi gave it another 8 min.

    In the south our chicken is mostly dredged in flour. Add egg wash it then becomes a batter.

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 роки тому +1

      I am originally from the south. That said, in an Air Fryer you have to add moisture before your dredge or else the flour will stay dry and just create a powder. When cooking chicken tradionally using lard or oil, that is the moisture that cooks the flour. But in an Air Fryer, you don't have that so the egg becomes the moisture. But the second flour dredge gives it that Southern fried chicken effect. And I'm pretty sure it's not considered a batter if you don't mix the liquid into the flour/cornstarch and create a thick liquid. Either way, if you are going to cook without oil, you have to make some concessions.

    it helped a LOT! can't wait to try - just wondered why you didn't use the air fryer basket rather than putting directly on the baking rack?

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  3 роки тому +1

      Great question. When cooking anything int he air fryer that you want to get browned on all sides, the least amount of surface area of the food that touches any rack or tray, the better. Also, you can cook so much more on the rack vs the basket and it't much easier t clean. I rarely use the basket unless the food is too small.
