Hey guys if you would like to see a KFC fillet burger done in the air fryer along with some strips, check out my channel as i've just uploaded a video on that. Thanks for watching!
@@trevordylan9130 You don't taste the egg, it's only for the dry ingredients to adhere on the chicken skin. Otherwise the dry ingredients will come off with the chicken fat.
A good tip.. Pack the coating on and hold it down on the chicken so it really sticks to the chicken and the egg will absorb the spices better than just lightly coating the chicken.. as an ex chicken cook at KFC.. 7 pats per side.. and don't be afraid to be firm either.
If you are in the UK you can get "Graces Perfect blend - Strong Blend" which is the actual KFC recipe (Irish KFC franchise that had a falling out with Colonel Sanders and refused to stop selling the breading) and in the US "Marion Kay Spices - Chicken Seasoning 99-X"
Since we don’t have a KFC in our town we have to travel to near bye Leeds, which means that we only have KFC when I’m coming home from Leeds which is not very often. Thank you for publishing this video, so now I can cook Southern Fried Chicken from home. For that reason, I decided to subscribe
390° f is recommended, but I noticed cooking it at 360°f for 25 minutes helps it to not get overly brown, but cooks it all the way through to the bone. I've also used 380° f for around 20 minutes and it seems to do the job. I think 390 or 400 tends to overcook the chicken on the outside. I guess it all depends on what air fryer you're using. Experiment with the temperatures and times to get it perfect for your air fryer.
Just made this for dinner. Followed your instructions pretty closely. I found 200 C (390 F) was a bit too hot . The breading got a little darker than I would have thought perfect. It was still very good. and the whole chicken cost 5 bucks. So, good deal. But, boy, it was a messy kitchen when I was done. Thank you for posting this.
I've been using a short cut. Never eaten KFC so don't know if it's even close. All I use on the chicken and in the flour are equal parts of Old Bay (18 herbs and spices!!) and McCormicks rotisserie chicken seasoning. Tasty.
Favorite chicken when travel to US ; missing it past few years; will try this recipe definitely. If I may, in your recipe list, kindly include the measurements for the spices, for new cooks. thank you
So many comments on the authenticity of your recipe here, all I can say is I personally don't think KFC is as good as it was so I'm definitely going to try this! Many thanks it looked lush!!!👍
👏 Well done brother. I applaud you for using a non-aerosol spray on the teflon pan. And rubber coated tongs, as well. However may I suggest that you try the 2 additional secrets to southern fried chicken. 1) Buttermilk (Soak for a min. 1 hour. Overnight is best) Celery salt. Great job.Love your laid back approach.
Well done! Will try it tonight Your soothing voice helped me watch the entire video and so glad I did! Sometimes I hear an awful squeaky voice and hit the stop button haha THANKS!!
You have a new subbie 🙋. I liked the way you put all the ingredients on the counter prior to cooking. Now all I have to do is take a pic & go to the supermarket to buy the ingredients. You also have a great voice. Looking forward to seeing more videos 😋
I have a feeling that your 200 degrees is Celsius...that will translate to approx 390 Fahrenheit. Chicken wont air fry at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Just making an assumption. Great video.
I actually went to the comments to see if anyone caught that. 200°? I guess I should have instantly recalled that the UK uses Celsius, not Fahrenheit. I knew that! Lol
Glad to have this video pop up! Looks amazing. I've been looking for a recipe like this since I bought my air fryer months ago. Thanks for sharing and now time to subscribe 😊
Cooking this version again tonight lol the hubby loves it, I did sub salt for garlic salt, and whacked a few chilli flakes it tonight, see how that turns out, thankies
Looks great and subscribed - This was one of the first things i tried in the air fryer and was surprised how excellent the results were - very crispy when double dipped and doesn't dry out at all unlike the oven - prefer it to KFC (which doesn't taste how it used to) and is a lot healthier due to little/no oil used and being in control of the salt / other ingredients
Thanks mate, now I'm f-ing famished! I will try it your way, because it looked like a great result. I'm new to airfryers but I'm obsessed with making good fried chicken. KFC is too expensive for me.
Hi there I will be trying this. I did KFC the other day and it was terrible 😫 it went in the bin so hopefully yours KFC will be fantastic thanks for the video
My American ways had me stuck on the pronunciation of oregano, but Italians say it best! I will relax now! It would be good to season the chicken first as well as the coating. Isn't it a bit dangerous to put so much oil in the Air Fryer? Thanks for sharing!
@@hamie63_m hi there. I definately did try it but i made a mistake with the spices🥴. I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt and it really needs celery salt too...no normal salt as well tho. We gave this a whirl tonight. Did not go that well as far as the KFC flavor. The flavor was sort of there....... maybe. It was our first go at chicken in the air fryer. It was very tasty. Next time I will use the tray at the bottom of the Ninja so the chicken isn't sitting in the oil. I am also going to double and triple the seasonings placed in the flour.

@@sonyaforeman7844 Hey- Easy to use and clean. A bit small so for some dishes so you might need to cook in two batches. I also used a “paper protector basket insert” for easier clean up. Not a good addition.
So easy and looks delicious. All of the spices used are on hand so will try your version with oil. I love your measuring technique! Ballpark measurements are my favorite.

I see spices from Sainsbury :), today I'm making KA(ir)F(ryer)C for the first time, with the difference that the meat was in buttermilk from yesterday. We'll see how similar the taste will be to KFC :)
Just got one of the Ninja Foodi 2 basket air fryers, and I can't wait to try this! Boneless breast meat done like that for a chicken sandwich would be off the chain...so awesome! New sub!
Thanks for sharing the tutorial. Just tried it and it was delicious ❤. I’m not sure what spray oil you use but be careful if it is the frylight/ 1 cal sprays as that destroyed the inside of my ninja airfryer over time. I now just use oil in an empty spray bottle
Victoria, yeah I use Frylight. Which one have you been using that caused a problem? I use the sunflower oil one. Haven't noticed any major issues yet. The base of the tray has deteriorated slightly, but I put that down to me burning something in it earlier in the year and letting it dry solid before attempting to clean it 😄 and needing to give it a good scrub. Did you put the regular oil in the frylight spray bottle? Thanks for the comment.
@@letscookwithleigh It was the fry light sunflower oil spray. For the first 8 months or so it was fine but after that the material started deteriorating and when I looked up why that could be online quite a few people had reported the same issue after using the fry light. Your herbs and spices are perfect, I use pork rindd for the crust, trying to keep carbs down, but it was so so good!
I would like to see some strips but I don't think UA-cam is appropriate for that, try onlyfans or jerkmate.
why use egg? I don't think I would like the taste w/egg. We just use flour and seasoning
