Only game I went to at Oracle last season had Harrison going 6.2 with 1 hit, 1 run, 2 walks and 11 k’s. 2 home runs from Fitzgerald and hrs from Soler and Ramos. 11-4 W over COL. I picked a good one. I also bumped into Hunter Pence at SFO!!!
One thing I have learned about lefthanders over the years they might not develop as fast as righties. It took Tom Glavine, Sandy Koufax, and Al Leiter who didn't get better until like age 30. Don't sleep on Harrison.
In theory, I'd love that trade, but I think it's kind of a "pie in the sky" scenario. I think Toronto is hoping to sign Vlad long-term. You could probably get Gausman and like a Varsho for Harrison, Black, & McCray, but is that even worth doing?
I don’t think Toronto would make that trade. They have to have players to want to make you go to the ballpark and see($). Also to deplete a farm that’s already ranked last would really hurt the Giants since 2 are 1 yr players. I can see a trade for one of the 3 but all three coming back seems like a video game. Good show Dan!
So... we gave Harrison what 10 starts, and that's is huh.. Former #1 pitching prospect, 23 years old and were giving up on him 10 starts into his career... not even going to give him 1 full season to see what he can really do... Farhan Zaidi level thinking.....
If Toronto was going to go young like that and ship out stars, they'd do it with a team that has better prospects, which is basically all of the other 28 teams.
Read on msnbc that Giants had been “hyper active” trying to get Tucker or Crochet in trades. The only player anyone is interested in is Eldridge. Buster hasbeen trying. Just doesn’t have anyone that teams want. Pretty bad when only 1 player in the organization is considered a legit prospect.
You have to give him at least one more year, if you look at Logan Webb's stats it took him three seasons in the show for the light to go on. I don't love Harrison as a prospect, but if he turned into a really reliable number 3 starter, we definitely could use one of those. We need to give him one year unless you getting a haul for him.
Gents, the Blue Jays are not trading their two franchise players for Harrison, Fitz, Yaz, Walker Martin, and McCray. I get that they are going to be free agents, but this would be a tough sell for Toronto.i would do the trade for sure for the Giants. This would help the Giants big time. I would pass on Gausman if we can.
Having Vlad wear a Giants jersey for a season would go a long way towards resigning him at the end of the year. Would love to see how Bichette turns out and if he can bounce back as well. The worst that can happen is that both Bichette and Vlad leave at the end of the year as you would then get two draft picks back given you'd extend qualifying offers for both. I'd prefer for something like this to happen as opposed to signing say Pete Alonso where you would be giving up two draft picks. Timing would be a key factor if something like this could get done. Imagine having this trade get across the line before January 15th for Roki Sasaki as SF would be a much more attractive team with Vlad & Bichette on board.
To me Harrison was screwed up by Zaidi and has lost his wonder factor. However, I don't think we can trade Harrison. He IS a starter, though he is a lower end starter right now, he does still have a lot of upside if he gets it together. He is under control for like 3 or 4 more seasons so that is a lot of time to figure it out. I like to buy low and sell high in my potential players, with Harrison we are selling really low right now, we keep him and do our best to purge the Zaidi out of him!
As awesome as this trade would be for the Giants, I doubt the BlueJays do this trade. Harrison and Fitzgerald aren't proven, and Yaz, although he is an everyday player and plays a good RF, he's an ok player. He has pedigree because of his family name with all due respect to Yaz. By doing this trade, the BlueJays would be telling their fans they're rebuilding, but not sure they would be willing to take that risk with their fanbase, when they've been in the AL East race in recent years and have been in contention. Yeah, they may not be able to stack up with the Yankees and maybe the Orioles, Red Sox, or even the Rays this year, but they have a decent roster as is currently. As far as the Giants go, it would be hard to give up on Harrison even though it would be nice to have Gausman back. As Dan alluded to, the Gausman-Webb 1-2 punch really was lethal 1-2 punch in the Giants starting rotation in 2021, and a big part of the reason why the Giants won 107 games that year. Webb still talks about how Gausman mentored him that season and how that has impacted him today. Would be great to have them reunited in this pitching staff. The Giants haven't really had a good #2 starter behind Webb since Gausman. Rodon was good, but it never felt like he was going to stay and be committed to the Giants. We just saw what happened with Snell this past season, so having Gausman back, at least for the short term, could help out this rotation. Having Vlad Jr in this lineup would be awesome, and in some ways, make up for the Giants not bringing in his Dad, Vlad Sr back in 2004, but will Vlad Jr want to sign with the Giants long term? It almost feels like he's going to be a Met or a Dodger after this season. I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if he wants to go to a bigger market once he hits free agency. Bo Bichette would be nice too, but would he be willing to make a long term commitment here as well? But yes, I would do this trade as a Giants fan, but I sadly doubt the BlueJays do this trade.
The Toronto fan base is already pissed at the team missing on so many FAs. If they gut the team like that for a group of unproven/washed up players, there would be a revolt.
I don’t think it’s time to pull the trigger and trade Harrison, it’s too early. Also keep fitzy and let him stick to a place and try to run up some stolen bases for 2025.
Club control through the 2029 season (!), 23 years old, only 3 seasons in the minors....and we want to trade Kyle Harrison? This is borderline absurd UNLESS the trade return is a near-generational talent. There is no way we have seen Kyle's best - again, he's only 23 with 5yrs club control. Also, talking about Harrison as only being a #3 in the rotation is somehow a failure is also borderline absurd. I don't think anyone was talking about Kyle Harrison taking Logan Webb's #1 slot in the rotation. Harrison, Fitz, Yaz and Martin for 34 year old Gausman, one year of Vlad, and Bo Bichette? That is wildly lopsided.
I have to think Harrison is isn't going anywhere. The Giants have a serious starting pitcher innings problems, and letting a healthy 23 year old starting pitcher walk out the door when you're dying for SP innings presents way too many problems long before the season even starts.
Fraud-han Zaidi held on to prospects thinking they would be studs once they came up to the Big Show. Look how that turned out. Let's not have the same false hope with Harrison. Harrison is not a franchise pitcher. He is either a #3 or #4 at best. Trade him for some lumber to better compete with the hated Dodgers.
You guys really need to take the Orange colored glasses off. There's zero chance the Jays even consider this deal unless they are 100% rebuilding. I'm all for trading Harrison and I agree he's a 3-4 starter at best.
Of course, when you're starved for good pitching, trade one of your up and comers who you have been touting as the 'future'. Right now, the Giants are looking a lot like the Giants of the 1970's.....
Wait. If you are Toronto and you give up Guerrero, Bichette and Gausman for Kyle Harrison, whoever the GM is would be known as the architect of the stupidest trade in history. What are you guys talking about? Honestly sounds delusional to me.
Trade the kid for a big return! You two genius` just got threw ripping the guy to pieces. His fastball is this....his changeup is that.....hell if I was interested in a trade I would have to think if that`s what his team thinks of him....what the hell am I doing? By the way how long did Timmy last? Burned his arm out. You`re doing more doing more damage than good with this stuff.
Timmy actually burned his hip out with his unorthodox, violent delivery, and he had to have surgery. But I believe his arm was always good; he never even needed to ice it!
Hip...arm it doesn`t matter. Over use. All the so call experts said his body wouldn`t hold up./ They were right. I love Timmy but reality is what it is. If you want to trade some one you don`t sit there and tell others what you don`t like. I would think the up side would be better.

Good point Don about lefties.
In theory, I'd love that trade, but I think it's kind of a "pie in the sky" scenario. I think Toronto is hoping to sign Vlad long-term. You could probably get Gausman and like a Varsho for Harrison, Black, & McCray, but is that even worth doing?
Definitely pie in the sky.
Harrison is a 4 or 5 guy. We need to fill those spots and he’s getting paid min with 5 years of control
I love that trade for Vlad Guerrero Jr and Bo Bitchette that's perfect, that would give the LA Dodgers a heart attack!!!!
So... we gave Harrison what 10 starts, and that's is huh.. Former #1 pitching prospect, 23 years old and were giving up on him 10 starts into his career... not even going to give him 1 full season to see what he can really do... Farhan Zaidi level thinking.....
Good video but I wouldn’t give up on Harrison yet. 😊
If Toronto was going to go young like that and ship out stars, they'd do it with a team that has better prospects, which is basically all of the other 28 teams.
Depends what we can get for him. Certainly he shouldn't be off the table.

What are they going to get in return? Bats?
Harrison's fastball has never been mid to upper 90s consistently. Not even at the beginning of the year, Dan.
Gents, the Blue Jays are not trading their two franchise players for Harrison, Fitz, Yaz, Walker Martin, and McCray. Saw a report from baggarly teams want Logan webb
😳

Bichette garbage

I wouldn’t trade Harrison for a one yr rental. Vlady is going to free agency and he will probably sign elsewhere.
Great point!
The Toronto fan base is already pissed at the team missing on so many FAs. If they gut the team like that for a group of unproven/washed up players, there would be a revolt.
Yes

Harrison is a little like Jake McGee.
You guys really need to take the Orange colored glasses off. There's zero chance the Jays even consider this deal unless they are 100% rebuilding. I'm all for trading Harrison and I agree he's a 3-4 starter at best.
My personal opinion, you give up on Tyler Fitzgerald at your own peril! Fitzy is going to be VERY GOOD! Also, Bichette is a bust!
Of course, when you're starved for good pitching, trade one of your up and comers who you have been touting as the 'future'. Right now, the Giants are looking a lot like the Giants of the 1970's.....
Fair point.
#1 lefty in baseball, who was #2. Maybe that years lefties las was ass
Kyle will prove bora wrong

Harrison needs a change of scenery.
Needs a new pitching coach
@Nobodybaby78 that works too
Ehh to the trade
Kyle Harrison can't hold Timmy Jock. Timmy was a freak. Kyle is over-rated
No
Bora wrong !
No dan I love your content but no
Typical Giants over-rated farm system player.
Trade him with that bum Schmitt!
🤣
Dillusional
No brainer! Harrison is junk.
