So, lets recount the last 2 years under Zhadi... Ross Stripling... never started more than 24 games... had a career year in 2022 after 2 bad years, and surprise surprise went back to being bad and injured again in 2023... Sean Manaea... Started at the beginning of the year and was so bad he was demoted to the bullpen, made a little run at the end to make the numbers look somewhat respectable... Anthony Desclafani... Stared out good, ended up bad and then injured... this after a season where he played 5 games... I could go on but this is how the last several years have gone for the Giants... They acquire someone the guy has one of the worst years he's ever had and or gets injured and that's it... They also acquire people like Jorge Soler... Jorge Soler, who had a good (not great) 2023 where he hit 250 with 36 home runs in a very hitter friendly ballpark.... after a terrible 2020, 2021, and 2022... and surprise surprise his 2024 looks a lot like his terrible 2022... HOW THE FUK AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW THIS COMMING. The Giants seem to look at the last year a player had and not consider whether he is likely to repeat that year based on his career numbers, or the numbers of recent year... ANYONE WHO LOOKED AT SOLER'S LAST SEVERAL YEARS should have seen this comming, and they did the same thing with Chapman... HES A CAREER 239 HITTER.... if you take out his 2018 (an obvious aberration) he's more like a 230 hitter... MATT CHAPMAN IS A CRAPPY HITTER and the Giants who desperately needed hitting signed him anyway... Stupidest team in baseball...

I don't think the Giants have actually been in a rebuild since the time between the Bonds era and the Posey Era so that would be 2008-2009 so it has been 15 years since we rebuilt. Zaidi was never allowed to rebuild, he had explicit marching orders from Ownership to reload and don't sell anything that we need to compete.

This is a separate point but despite the problems that Hicks has had I am still for him being a starter because what he is going through is a macro problem. EVEN Webb went through this problem back in 2022 where his body could not keep up with the workload and Webb was throwing a dead arm. Hicks is in the EXACT same boat; this is just something you have to have patience for and ride it out. MLB is just throwing Starters out there without proper build up in the minor leagues because of that precious MILEAGE on young arms. And then it forces these players to fail at the MLB level instead of adjusting in the minors and this is unsustainable as a whole. Forget the Giants, this is an everyone problem.

What is killing the Giants is what I feared back in the beginning of MAY. The Pitching has collapsed. This was an emergency when we started using only 3 actual starters because Snell has been dead weight and Zaidi refused to call up a 5th starter in favor of bullpen games. MASSIVE unforced blunder. Phantom IL-ling Kyle Harrison just because he got to his MLB innings number which is NOT his limit by the way was another MASSIVE unforced blunder. Melvin or any manager can't win with this team and its culture towards babying Starters. Zaidi has been throwing bodies instead of actual TALENT into the pitching meat grinder and thinks that will be enough and don't get me started on the hope of Cobb and Ray fixing this!

The Giants are forgetting how to play defense again! I heard that we are leading the MLB in errors again. I know that we are an old and slow team but to have bottom 3 in MLB defense for going on 3 years now all but proves that our coaching is not up to snuff, that our players are not up to snuff, or our players are asked to do too much by forcing too many of them to play positions they are not able to. It has to be one or more of those three options.

I just caught 95.7 before coming here and they have LOST. THEIR. MINDS. They want to sell the farm to acquire Vlad Jr. because they don't value the prospects since we haven't produced a star (Ramos is likely to crash and burn back to AAA, hope he doesn't crash). If WE don't value our prospects, who else is going to!? One star hitter is NOT going to fix this team. The KNEEJERK reaction is to blame the offense when we lose. I am beyond disgusted they sent matos down. I was really hoping you guys weren’t right, but yall were. As soon as slaters back they sent matos down. I honestly don’t think this team is trying to win.
