    "Not everyone can or should be saved..."
    Truth and everyone should have this conversation with their loved ones that are elderly. most likely those patients do not want to be on a ventilator for weeks at a time until they die.

      At that point too you aren't even saving them, you are just prolonging a poor quality of life with the inevitability of death being very soon.

      I worked as a CNA for six months before I left because I realized we are pushing food, drugs, and water down elderly peoples throats prolonging death. they're truly suffering living well past a good quality of life.

    I’ve seen a lot of people die as a medic and an RT (respiratory therapist) and not one death is the same. You don’t get used to it but you learn to cope with it. I completely understand where they are coming from and the feelings they have when they watch someone die. I was a medic and an RT for about 15 years between the two and I’ve seen 2 children die and countless adults. Some were stable and we thought would do well and some we expected. It’s part of the circle of life! Dr Matt is sweet and really cares for his patients!

    Selling your horse is not what you want to hear when you are laying there trying to get your feeling back in your leg and arm. The horse spoked it natural. She lost her balance and did not stay on. Do not blame the horse. It can see and hear better than we can. Mom needed to say get better so she could ride again. You fall off you get back on. I hope she gets use back. I hope she just bruised her nerves. Takes time to heal

    • @aquachonk
      @aquachonk 7 місяців тому +29

      I came here for this comment. They act like the horse was evil or had some agenda. No, he was being a horse, he operated on instinct. Animals are tapped into so much more information than most humans, they handle it effortlessly on a daily basis while we've mostly lost touch with our ability to process it at all. Who knows what spooked the horse? Answer: The horse does.
      The fact that the mother and daughter were so ready to discard the animal tells me they haven't been in touch with their own natural intuition--or compassion--in quite some time and, frankly, should reconsider a lifestyle that gives them any power over animals. Perhaps they could funnel their equestrian budget towards therapy of some kind before a grandchild is taught the same prejudice. May that horse find a loving connection with a skilled and sympathetic rider.

      It’s crazy how you guys are so quick to judge the situation off of one incident who knows the horse’s background or what he may have done previously to make them draw to that conclusion so just try to be a bit more understanding and realize that mom is simply doing what she thinks is best for her child and that’s what really matters in the end she simply said sell the horse NOT slaughter it

    • @cobramom3
      @cobramom3 7 місяців тому +15

      Exactly. They needed to let her heal and definitely, they should’ve thought about her mental and spiritual healing, selling her horse, probably didn’t help with the mental healing.

    • @tessaoshea5697

      However, the horse is not reading this and won't be hurt by the conversation. However, the mum, barely holding it together for her child who might be paralyzed, might be reading this. And if I were her I'd find your insensitive comment extremely hurtful.

    Humans doing miracles and that’s just facts!
    They may not think it but they truly touch our hearts even after we leave that hospital, as the patient, or as the loved one of someone lost in the ER.
    We appreciate you and all you do, with only being human, you wear invisible capes and a draped in gowns that save lives of other humans, giving us the thing only you can do, TIME!
    Ugh my heart breaks for these men and women, all while it beams with pride of our doctors and nurses and their ways ❤️
    They hold up our NHS, struggling to do so, yet they still smile, and carry on! 💙

    I told my mom as a kid I refuse horse riding and horse riding lessons. They're big, skiddish, powerful animals. While I think they're awesome I'm terrified of them. I was never a horse girl. It's not the horse's fault he got spooked. Ellie should have held on tighter. I hope his next owner is better, more experienced, and more patient.
    Edit: I've been a patient in the ER when two people were dying. It was pretty sad. One was an elderly lady who fell down some stairs and fractured her skull, the other was a young man who was shot several times. Hearing the code blue and all that was brutal.

    Actually, why do people want to be doctors in the United States? 1) prestige. 2) fat paycheck 3) helping people perhaps. 4) did I say fat paycheck? 5) sports car 6) mansion. 7) private schools for the kids and an au pair to boot.
    Wash, rinse, repeat. The doctors here care primarily about the $$$$ and then about the patients secondarily. The nurses do most of the caring.

    • @megangreene3955
      @megangreene3955 7 місяців тому

      @@Jess3675 No, I don't know many doctors on a personal level, but I do know that the doctors I am familiar with live in Blackhawk, California which is the most affluent area of the San Francisco bay area. It is filled with mansions. One of them sent his only son to the Athenian School in Danville, CA. It is one of the most prestigious and expensive private high schools in California. I know that there are some good doctors in the United States. I also know that student loans cost a fortune because we have a for profit university system. The average doctor makes over 100,000 dollars per year. Nurse Practitioners make $100,000 as of the most recent figures on Google. Therefore, doctors make more than that... especially since they are able to afford a mansion in Blackhawk. Doctors are not regulated and can charge insurance a thousand dollars for the 15 minutes we get of their time.
      I am not jealous of them. If I wanted to do their job, I would go back to university and get a Master's in nursing. I don't. I would actually rather have doctors who get paid less and equal access to healthcare for everyone. I would rather have the National Health Service because that would mean that regardless of what happens, we would be taken care of without fear of going bankrupt. My problem is more with the corrupt for profit medical care that we have in this country than with the doctors themselves. They can have their mansion in Blackhawk and their fancy private schools for their only child. I just want a system of care where no one fears bankruptcy because they had a heart attack or some other serious medical problem. In other countries, this isn't an issue because their taxes pays for all of it. They never receive a $50,000 bill in the mail after insurance because they had to stay in hospital for a long time. They don't feel pressured into signing a DNR so that their families will not be stuck with a huge bill for their care. They don't have a co-pay except on prescription medications and dentistry. Yet, we are the only first world country that does... and not just a small one, but a crippling one.

      They're not actors, that's why it's called a documentary. It documents real life.

      She's hemorrhaging blood out of her vagina, doctors aren't going to care what is on her head very much, unless she needs surgery. This show is also real cases.
