    Dr. Firas is a very special doctor and human being. Many men have high respect and admiration for their dads and miss them deeply after they have passed away.

    Great examples of young men who apparently had great Dad's as role models. Too bad there aren't more of them. As a retired RN I enjoy this medical series.

    Dr Firas had a love, respect and pure care of his father. Don’t hear that to often. Reginald’s love for his father, these are men I don’t hear about to often.

    How awful that Dr Firas and brother were separated when they were so young from their dear Dad just because of a difference of nationality during the evacuation of Kuwait in the Gulf War. Terrible shame. Dr Firas's dad would be so proud of him I'm sure.

    Mr Reginald Brown, I was so happy to see you well, at the end, talking about your dear father.
    He must have been a great man. I say that, because you are certainly are a special, caring person yourself . Your Dad will be so proud of you.

    I love watching these. Reg was so hard to watch, because you could see him getting worse, but watching the kids in the waiting room was so boring.

    Dr. Firas, is the kindest doctor I’ve ever seen! He genuinely cares for people, cares how they feel. His feelings come from the heart and knows who he is and his purpose. He treats this man with dignity and compassion ❤ Dr. Firas would be the perfect one to talk to these young interns before they take that next big step! Don’t ever change Dr. Firas, you are truly the exception…May God be at your side always, especially while you care for others . 🙏

    I have the same problem with my intestines. It turned in to gangrene and sepsis. I was on a ventilator for 33 days. Every system failed. Had to have renal dialysis due to renal failure. Heart failure. Respiratory failure. Colostomy. Seizure and stroke.
    I had to learn how to learn how to walk and talk again. Colostomy reversed 8 months later. Renal function is at 50%. When I saw Reginal, I immediately said he had digestive problems of blockage or need emergency surgery.

    Ok, Pt. Reginald, I'm guessing ketoacidosis. I'll come back after I watch the whole show & we'll see if I'm right.
    Edit: They didn't name his condition, except that it was related to his diabetes. However, although I called the fact that it wss diabetes-related, with ketoacidosis you actually need more insulin 💉, so that specific diagnosis was incorrect. Hey, for a person with no medical training, it's pretty amazing that I was at least on the right track! I think I would be upset to have gone through major surgery for nothing, myself. 🤬

      Actually, it sounds like pancreatitis. My husband's has had it several times and has spent weeks in the hospital. The cause is sometimes unknown and the treatment is hoping the pancreas fixes itself. Glad he is recovering.

      It is mesenteric ischemia. It is essentially like a heart attack of the bowe. Elevated lactate indicates either infection or cellular death which is what can occur if one of the mesenteric arteries becomes blocked due to atherosclerosis which is a complication of diabetes or it can be caused by vasospasm of the arteries. Pancreatitis is easily diagnosed by elevated lipase a pancreatic enzyme released when there is injury to the pancreas. I have had this a number of times and the pain and vomiting are much more severe than this gentleman has. He more likely had vasospasm of the mesenteric arteries.

      My best friend is diabetic and she went through something VERY much like this. She was eventually diagnosed with gastroparesis. It's a known complication of diabetes. My friend had confusing blood acid levels for a couple weeks until she was finally diagnosed and admitted to hospital. She spent several weeks there until they got her condition under control. She didn't need surgery, but it was a hell of a process to adjust her life to not being able to eat solids and many specific foods. We thought we might lose her there for awhile. So happy that she got the correct diagnosis and is mostly back to her life.

    That older brother, Richard, talking about picking up women in the ER waiting room - how inappropriate. No one is there to get hit on! He needs to keep his eyes to himself, creep. The way he talks about women is terrible. He's not a good example to his younger brother *at all.* The nurse who finally dealt with him was absolutely right. No one should follow Richard's "example".

    This slow sh.... would not cut it in the USA!!!!!!!!! Never would want Socialized medicine !!!!!!!!!!!

    • @ajpthequeen
      @ajpthequeen 6 місяців тому

      Keep fighting against your own interests!! People in countries with socialized medicine get care without having to sell their homes, go bankrupt or die because their treat is denied by an insurance agent! Thousands in the us die every day because they cannot get care due to lack of insurance, the insurance companies delaying care because they don’t want to pay, people cannot find drs in their network, or cannot afford life saving medicine. 45,000 people die in your country every year because they are unable to receive medical care. The US is also no1 in the world for maternal mortality rate per capita. Stop spreading capitalist propaganda, you’re embarrassing yourself! The entire world realizes that the US is a huge dumpster fire and a laughing stock. Maybe leave your mom’s basement, travel to one other country and you might see just how brainwashed you are!! 😂😂😂
