Loretta Johnston has recently moved into town and is driving around to get to know her neighborhood when she is suddenly pulled over by a policeman. Immediately the officer is rude and accusatory, believing she is up to no good. When he demands to search her vehicle, she panics and decides to call her husband. I'm a hispanic who has gone through a similar experience. The police officer who stopped me didn't last long in his job. I heard that he didn't even like his job and finally quit. Anyone who isn't happy in what they do should be looking for a way out because they usually are making others around them equally unhappy.

I hope that the actor who played the uniformed policeman got a lot of money for his difficult job. Not many including myself could play such a role. Before filming began I would really need have a meeting with the full cast to talk about the unpleasantness of the script.

Sadly today your question applies to most people working for an Authority. Part of the problem is related to Narcissism, which Psychologists say is rapidly on the increase throughout society today and is getting worse.
So yes your right in your observation. It is an extremely bad combination when an authoritarian person is given authority. Because then they will often, if not always, carry things to the extreme, lie and cheat and use aggressive behaviours in the process of carrying out their duties. For many people today, it is bad enough living with a Narcissistic partner, be it man or woman, but to find them in the workplace one can easily find that this behaviour quickly attracts others of a similar ilk. That is when problems of violence can escalate to serious physical harm especially when the question of compliance enters the situation. It can be extremely frightening for ordinary citizens when faced with such arrogant and authoritarian personalities. What is more, this behaviour is being encouraged by those in high places who are promoting the policies of the New World Order, which seeks to undermine constitution rights of its citizens.

How about a future Soulsnack episode with both Capt. Porter and Sheriff Johnston on supervisory duty, especially in the case of a busybody Karen, who disrupts a planned movie night that an Aunt and Uncle planned for 2 young kids and their friends from the neighborhood with their parents/legal guardians in attendance on the evening that school let out for the summer. The 2 young kids would be Capt. Porter's children and Sheriff Johnston handles the investigation. Porter instructs one of the adult guests, an elderly guest with his wife, accompanying their grandchildren, to give his video evidence of the incident to Johnston, after 2 officers that tase the busybody Karen as she attempts to toss a bowl(she refused to comply with officers' orders), cuff her up and place her in the back of their police cruiser, then return to help the movie night hosts clean up the mess the busybody Karen makes, knocking over plastic cups and cardboard plates. While Capt. Porter instructs his 2 young children to listen to their Aunt and Uncle, until he comes to pick them up, after he gets off duty, Sheriff Johnston instructs the movie night's hosts to restart their movie, feed the guests, enjoy the show and most importantly, take care of the children. Afterwards, both Porter and Johnston confront the busybody Karen about showing up uninvited at someone's movie night, crashing it and disregarding the fact that children were present. The 2 officers take her away, while Porter and Johnston resume their supervisory duties. How would that be for a future Soulsnack episode, "Movie Night Karen"!!!

I have been pulled over for leaving a motel. Also accused of committing a robbery in a Beverly Hills , while on my way to a job interview. Running a red light while I had a green arrow to turn on. All of these stops with a gun to my head.

Thank goodness for body cams. Though the officer wasn’t wearing one in this story, I’m often left speechless by the misconduct of some policemen, while wearing one. It should be mandatory for all public facing law enforcement personnel to don a body cam.
