- Choosing a car color is not easy when doing a car restoration. Usually a GIANT crossroads in your project car of what your car represents and displays. Everything from spray painting a car, plastidipping a car, or having a premium paint job - it's always fun to think about of the box when it comes to creating the perfect color choice. This time around we decided to use the Toyota's RAV4 incredible blue on the Coyote Swapped Nissan 240SX Project also known as Project Kitana! It's a great feeling knowing that this car is going from the video where I showed you "how to spray paint a car" all the way to a great professional paint job using an accessible color! Thankfully with the color we will be able to replace and blend it easy if anything were to happen at a drift event. We also do our first drive and donuts to test it out as a drift car! It ends...poorly. So let's talk about it.

I love this series, and have been enjoying every single one of these episodes. I dont know if its the title or what, sadly the views have not been spectacular, but rest assured that the videos are TOP NOTCH, love them and wont skip a second of them.

When Allen filmed those moter mounts my heart dropped. I felt so bad. So was it Allen's former shop that screwed you over, or was it another. Also I really wanted to cry when Chris was saying that him and all your other friends were cheering you on despite you had a lot of doubts. Then them not encouraging the doubts. You have a great friends in your corner that believe in you man. That's why I love your channel your hella authentic and it's rather cool that thus project turned into an insane cinematic story to tell.
5:20 another benefit of using a stat-gun is that the color match of plastic bumpers to the adjacent metal panel is MUCH better than if you didn’t use a static solution. The lay of the metallic and pearl paints matches much better than without….
The quality of this video is outstanding! Scrolled past it for hours because the thumbnail seemed tacky and click bait. Wonder how many others are scrolling past it for the same reason?

That's a bigger motor than people think.. And He went with the Boss Intake so it's sitting even higher.. We have a guy local to me who coyote swapped a Foxbody and that was a lot of work..

I started watching you 9 years ago and heard about the 240 when you explained you wanted to do a series on it. And I must say it is so much fun finally seeing it!
That’s got to be the best sounding coyote I’ve ever heard . They sound super raspy on the mustang.

The shot of those welds on the frame is soooo bad! I was teaching my little sister how to weld for the first time and after the first day her welds were looking like that! Best of luck with rebuilding the car! I have had a couple of my projects get messed up by others and though the feeling of getting rid of it and moving on is so easy, taking the time to rebuild it is well worth it! Your patience and kindness will pay off!

Color is fantastic dude. I love seeing OEM colors from other manufacturers on different cars. Easy to match later on versus a completely custom color and is unique without costing a fortune (typically))

Man, when thats done right its going to be awesome. Looks awesome and sounds great! I know you have driven a first gen celica with a 1uz but im starting to fit a 2014 mustang 3.7 cyclone engine in. Weighs maybe 20-30lbs more than the 20r that came in it at 305hp to the crank! Have a for 8.8 already for it too.

I love this color (if its the one i’m thinking of) my neighbor has a newish Rav-4 in a really pretty light blue and i always wish i could just swap the pain on our cars.
Being a car guy can be painful, there's so much that can go wrong. I just had a car stolen a couple months ago and that's only the latest thing to happen... it's always something lol

Is this blue flame? Bc the local paint shop to me says it’s a 3 stage base/pearl/clear and it’s super expensive… grabber blue was substantially cheaper as a plain pastel color lol

It happens David. We all have had those shops who do a quick and awful job. Just for the cash. Lesson learned my dude. Don't dwell on it just move fwd. It's disheartening for sure.
This happened to me with a mk3 supra 2jz swap. Basically bad to start over with a new shop who I trusted.
It's a pain in the ass but once it happens once you never trust shops again and always are on it. Never just blindly trust again. Research and checking on their work.
Even with my trusted shops I show up every 2 weeks or so and go over what they have done. Found things they didn't see it lied about etc. you are the customer if it is not up to your standard your standard yank the car and move on.
Reputation means nothing I have realised you have to be very on your game if you cannot do something yourself . Know enough to know what's good work and what isn't.
5 years a car of mine spent in a shop that totally screwed me over and I eventually had to take it back by force. Legal action was taken etc.
It happens bro. Go after the shop who did the dodgey work. Get your money back even if you need to a lawyer involved. That's what I did. Hold them accountable.
It'll cost you but the principal of it for me was what drove that decision. Get your money back. Get your mate to do a full report of the dodgey work. You have the visual proof. Just need an inspector to go over the whole car.
I've had it happen with new cars too. A jeep Trackhawk in for warranty work. Didn't trust they did a good job. Took it to a hemi specialist and bam they had basically half assed the repair and it ended up costing me an engine. They tried to say because I modded the exhaust (only mod on the car) that it caused the engine to fail which was a total BS story and I proved it. They used the wrong oil in the car and I found out that because the engine locked up and seized. I also had a dash cam in the car and had them on film beating on it on the test drive hard with the wrong oil in it.
Brand new engine from stalantis. They tried everything to avoid the repair and I refused to use their shop to install it. They had to pay my trusted shop to do it. Which then they claimed voided the warranty. Again lawyer involved to stop that. Sold the car eventually after it all settled because I felt it was a lemon. Informed the new owner of the issues and he was fine with it because he intended on highly modding it.
It's just apart of the car lifestyle. Money talks and bullshit walks as my father use to say. Get a lawyer dude go after the shop and just ask for the total spent back. Don't sue em just ask for the total spent including labour costs and lawyer fees. They will try Weasle their way outta it they always do, you may get some threatening phone calls but just tell them you are advised to have all communication through your lawyer please contact them.
Lawyer costs suck but you get it all back when it finally settles and man you have a case here. Obvious dodgey and substandard work. That could have been a bad day for you and anyone else in the car if your steering had failed.
Go after em dude. They deserve it
