Thanks so much! I was hoping listeners would appreciate the visual accompaniment. It was a tough project that took hundreds of hours to put together. Thanks for the kudos!
Thanks for leaving a comment! I thought this was a cool idea but I’m shocked by how few have watched it. It’s a ton of work and research! Please share with someone. I’m already working on part 2.
I can say the same. I was in a really low place and I kept listening over and over. That’s why I created this visual accompaniment. It’s my way of saying thanks to Norm and Dennis. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for your labor of love. I've heard all of these before, but you added a new dimension to it. Never gets old, but this was a nice treat with the visuals.😉
Wow, thank you for your comment. It really was a labor of love. It took a lot of time and research! I really appreciate your kind words. I hope more Norm fans find it too! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for doing this. I will always find time to watch/listen to the late, great Norm Macdonald. The slides were really well thought out and I actually watched it through without thinking much of it.
Using the grandfather from pawn stars as “just some old guy” in the Matlock story😂😂😂 i would love if you could do more of these 🙏 Dennis Miller’s references always go over my head
Hey everybody thanks for the great comments. I thought more people would be interested in this unique presentation of these recordings. I really want to do part 2 but it’s hard to justify the hundred hours required to research and edit. Please share with someone who loves comedy. If I get more views I’ll complete part 2. Knowing you will never live in a timeline where you are at a Movie Writing Course at UCLA or in a blacked out writers room smoking cigs with Norm and Drake Sather is beyond depressing.
I can actually tell you exactly where Norm was as asked at 24:08 talking to me and Byron after the show. He had a flu and gave both of us the Norm Flu. after that, so he said, he went back to 'The Lodge' for the night. he actually did ask the crowd what was the nearest rival town. People said 'Redcliff' so he said "yaaa.. those stupid Redcliffers" then people felt sad and said things like "no, its like part of our city its so close.. many of us are from Redcliff'. It almost destroyed his entire set and later people who weren't there were all insolent and naysaying about Norm saying "ya and he tried to make fun of the city or something I heard".
Wow, you’re the first person I’ve ever heard from who actually saw Norm perform live. That’s amazing that you were there on that night! You just made that story much more rich for me. I’d love to hear more if you ever feel like sharing. Thanks for watching!
@@JonBlackstone The thing is, he'd been scheduled i think it was a few months earlier then a surprise cancelation. He did indeed look dreadfully pale, 'waxy' skin and 'flu-ish'. All these years later, if you go by reports, the reason the original date was canceled would be almost exactly where he was diagnosed with cancer and (so has been reported) was doing some chemo/radiation or whatever the hell they do. So, if the timeline is right, he got cancer diagnosis, did treatments and then rescheduled pretty much as soon as he was physically able. No doubt it was a flu because about 2 nights later me and Byron were both exactly what Norm seemed to have, waxy, awful flu-ey and phoned to confirm each other got the Norm flu. but here's what I was wondering (i dont know a lot about cancer) but did he get a flu because his immune system was so beaten down from chemo?? Anyway, it's an awkward thing to meet your heroes but not with Norm who, it turns out, is really Canadian, knew where we worked, BSed about High Prairie (no joke) also worked at the same 'Manpower' place I did as a teenager. in fact, something occurred to me later but Norm very very much spoke with us in a very Canadian accent, very much like you'd hear from any working gas and oil guy in town. I think he felt very comfortable. At home. Maybe it was a long time since he was just BSing with some workers in small town Canada about nothing much but where's work or what job he did once for this or that place. I mentioned to him I was just so thankful he made it, why? because we didn't get any kind of shows like that and when he canceled we were pretty down but renewed when he really did come back. His response was just '... of coursssse.. yes of course'. Now, looking back, that's amazing he came back as soon as he finished cancer treatment ffs! Anyway, he's a good guy.
I’ve been watching his norm lives recently as they’re my favourite interviews. And it’s not even the guest, it’s even though there is about 7 that a pure gold. But I watched him interview Martin mull. And in that episode the late Martin mull actually tell the best joke of that particular live. And that’s not to say norm and Adam are not on form because they’re. It’s just mull joke about the husband and his wife is up there with dirty Johnny
I completely agree. Either no one can say the word or everyone can. Freedom of speech for everyone. Besides decades ago my friends and I used the word to describe jwhite people. It wasn’t about color or race; it was about attitude.
