As an x mechanic I would definitely give everyone a tip, ear defenders (and obviously eye) you don’t have to be old to damage ears, and power tools/ nut guns ratchets all can cause damage … it’s something you can’t get back…. People think they will be fine, trust me.
Love this channel. I have to admit, I just sold my old Ford Ranger , I had it 9 years and never changed the filters, the oil filter i changed three or four times when i changed the oil. I sold it as spares or repair although it was still a good truck. Whenever I turned the fan on you could hear all the rubbish being thrown around, it was my work vehicle. Keep it going guys 👍
I had a colleague once come to me that her car runs rough. I checked the engine oil and it had metal shavings in it. I looked at the dashboard and it showed 50,000 miles. I asked her when the last time she did an oil change was, and then she asked me, "Oil change?"😂😂😂😂

I've driven a Fiat 500 nice chassis, too small though, shody materials and the gruff 3 cyclinder 70hp petrol just didn't do it for me it was a courtesy car. It was however better than the Vauxhall Corsa courtesy car that tried to kill me by having the power steering die mid corner and it was also using oil too. I don't like Fiat but can't deny the 500 and Panda are actually pretty reliable.
I’ve seen that before on a Fiat but with double the mileage, luckily a new timing belt and water pump fixed that and he somehow got away from the damage unlike that lady there in the vid
I use Autodoc a fair bit but very hit and miss with parts / regular errors then they want to make you pay to return their errors. They said to me don’t trust their parts checker but asked us to check with them by email too using the VIN! Then after doing that they sent me the wrong Cam belt for a VW. They are often cheap but just be mindful. Typically 1 week delivery too as parts come from Germany.
yep, i agree with that, i`d say they get abou 70-80% of order`s correct, but as wer`e ordering from the uk and they`re sending to the uk, you`d think they would just DOUBLE check the order, then if THEY send the wrong part, you have to photograph it, explain what the problem is,it CAN be a lot of hassle, BUT they are cheap, especially on genuine parts...................😕😕
I’ve used them quite fair bit in the past. It seems like to get the right part, it’s best to get the part numbers off of your part- that way you’re reducing the risk of incorrect part. Saying that though, all motor factors are like this. Not really ideal to have it back and forth though knowing that it’s coming from overseas!
For the oil for the BMW, it was made by shell until 2024 and now castrol makes it. Its the same oil as Castrol 0w30 LL04, or Shell helix ultra ECT LL04 in case you want to save some money buying in the future.
Iv been driving for 32 years, always taught once a week when cleaning to check fluids, tyre pressures etc Now most drivers don’t even know where the bonnet catch is like seeing someone calling the AA/RAC or such as yourselves to come and change a flat tyre!! that says it all to me Been a old grump and serious but it should be mandatory on the driving test the above, maybe is now, iv no idea 😂 But todays cars seem to be sold as drive and forget due to them been reliable (or more reliable than what I was introduced to at 17
Lots of cars don't have a spare wheel so if you get a puncture you're fucked. There are far too many people with no idea what they're doing though and people should have boycotted cars with no spare wheel and cars electronic parking brakes which are also a nightmare.
Great work Chaps.. It never fails to surprise me when I hear of car owners not bothering or even not realising you have to service your vehicles regularly. I think one of the issues is 'main dealers' ripping off people and charging far too much for oil & filter changes or even worse charging for the work and not doing it properly.
There are idiots out there that believe the MOT covers everything and count it as the car being serviced. People not caring for their cars like this is insane it costs so much more to replace them than maintain them.

Mate, i know you probably wont see this but you vidoes are so good. I genuinely learn so much but theyre not boringly repetitive. Its cool to see so many different issues (electrical engineer by tade).
I wouldn't always believe the service history, sometimes techs are dodgy, and don't always carry out something like an oil and filter change, but mark it off as done on the service history. Dealerships are possibly the worst for doing this.
First bmw I had was a 330d, took it to bmw for first service. See where I’m going? When it came out I had an intake to fit couple of hoses and some other engine bay dressings to fit so got bonnet up on the ramp etc and… filter hadn’t been touched was still original one. Decided to check the oil, dropped it, black. Rang them and they swore over and over I was wrong despite what I was looking at. Ended up taking it to head office, as in I emailed them didn’t drive down there😅they gave me… free servicing for a year😂😂never took it back to bmw always went to NVM after that. The worst part about newer cars is definitely the service history on dashboard, for me. Obviously only recall you can’t get around but at least that’s mostly software with bmw diesels.
@@AI-Records24 Happened to me with Land Rover main dealer I suspected they had not changed the oil as I had only done 3,000 miles after last service. I sucked some out as soon as I got home yes totally black. Never got into an argument with them just changed the oil and filter my self. Never will I go back to them and I will never buy another car from them.

Just change the effing oil like you are paid for so my vehicle and engine lasts longer. I suspect because they make so much off parts that makes them not want to do it.

Hi I thought autodock no longer serviced the UK since Brexit or has that all changed also was not happy after several mistakes made by them and charging me for parts I did not want . Just one other thing I get the Willy's when I see you jacking cars on soft or uneven surfaces when I was a young lad working with my Dad about 10 or 11 we had a Mk5 ford cortina I had to do a complete exhaust down pipe back I jacked the car on a very slight slope jacked all 4 wheels and put it on stands gave the car a little shake to make sure it was safe it all seemed fine I walked away to get my tools as I came back to the car it slid off the stands back onto it's wheels OMG be safe lol
All’s changed mate. Delivery didn’t take long for us either. We try to be as safe as possible. Putting jack stands and also leaving the jack for support for the just-in-case as you see in the video. Hopefully it doesn’t happen to us 😭
Both my daughters never ever check anything in their cars, it’s only when I say have you done that if not bring your cars down and I’ll check everything 😮😢🤦♂️🤦♂️ On the mini you have the axle stands on the jacking points is that ok or should it be on the axle 👍 thanks

After waiting a week I’m told the parts I want are not in stock . After two more weeks . Everi ‘lose’ my car parts . Now I’m waiting for two of the slowest companies to communicate . I’m nearly at my 5th week . Have fun
using the power wrench to do up spark plugs seems like an incredibly du mb move to me. the threads on these are so fine that you can cross-thread them very easily and if that happens you need a new engine.
23NM is specific for this vehicle. It’s best to check what’s written at the back of the box when replacing spark plugs. It should tell you the torque/angle

Manufacturers tend to overestimate the service interval that they put in their cars. Best way to do it is to half that (if 12k miles/12 months, half it to 6k miles/6months) etc…
Roads (mainly motorways and heavy traffic city/town like London) are so contaminated with soot, brake dust and many other airborne particles that you cannot see. It doesn’t just filter stuff that’s coming from outside the car, it also filters what’s already inside the car All I’m saying is, if you’re brave, don’t replace [or remove] your cabin filter 🤷🏽♂️

I own a TopScan. Crap for Anything Alfa Romeo. Doesn't clear codes after repair and can't even reset an oil change/service. Useless for troubleshooting after as you can't clear down codes to do a test run after a part change. Not impressed with it TBH. I'll Stick with Autel

Always look at the car and the house if you are where they live that will give you more info than you will ever know ! or need to know !!!!!!!!!!!!
Have identical with identical issues here to be fixed. Youuu don't need to stop if it overheats.... This one is gonna get a used engine chucked in.
Does this car have a ppf? As LL04 should be used for all diesel and petrol with ppf only. That was my understanding anyway.
The Twin air Fiat 500 have a poor quality header tank! Engines are overheated often when these fail.
Car probably just needs a new head gasket. Big job but mostly labour

£0! I advertise their product because I believe they’re the best. How I wish they sponsor me. If they do, it will be much cheaper for my customers as Mann ain’t cheap AT ALL!
@@themarvelousvlog i stick to bosch. The old mann oil filter i replaced had 4 holes, Bosch had 5. In my eyes mann is 2nd rate.
@@themarvelousvlog Agreed Mann is superior. Bosch has been hit and miss for me as a whole tbh. Tried wipers, filters and sensors. Their quality ain't what it used to be.

I own a TopScan. Crap for Anything Alfa Romeo. Doesn't clear codes after repair and can't even reset an oil change/service. Useless for troubleshooting after as you can't clear down codes to do a test run after a part change. Not impressed with it TBH. I'll Stick with Autel
Tops can is pretty basic, mainly used by DIY’ers. For its price point you can’t really complain. Is it updated?
