- Crumpet rings on Amazon -
I'm having trouble linking the actual crumpet rings I bought - but if you go onto Amazon and search for crumpet rings, they'll come up :) They were £14.99 for 4 but just use a cookie cutters if you have them...they'll work just the same.

Hello folks!
Today I made a batch of these wonderful breakfast crumpets! These make a wonderful alternative to a slice of toast in the morning…lovely straight from the toaster with a good scrape of butter :) and maybe a wee bit of jam too! Very easy to make and requires basic ingredients…simple and delicious.
Everything I used will be listed below,
-Cheryl x

Good evening everyone! Thank’s for joining me for today’s wee recipe video…crumpets! 😋I’ll see you down in the comments 👇
Thanks for entertaining this old woman ❤
☺💕
And this old fart !! 😂
I’m a crumpet lover, so I’m definitely giving these a go. Great with a poached egg on top for a light supper ❤
Ideal Teresa! 🤩
These look great! I had no idea crumpets were grilled and not baked. They are expensive to buy premade here. Nice to know they are easy to make! 😊
You brought some tears to my eyes this morning. My Mum-in-law was Scottish and she past away in January 2nd 2023 and I miss the accent. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us.
I am going to try these they look delicious
Can't wait to make these. As we love crumpets in our household.
Brilliant! I am here for any kind of bread you want to teach us! Love from wee Portugal! 🇵🇹
You are quite remarkable. 7am Sunday, Canada. an 81 year old man is about to make crumpets. I'll let you know how I faired.
I cant get enough of this woman's accent, her recipes and the whole dang channel!!! Great content!!
Oh my gosh. This looks so good.
Thanks for this simple but lovely recipe! I'm in the States where crumpets are basically unheard of outside of a few older cultural references, I didn't even know what they really were until recently (I kinda just assumed they were hard cookie-like things, hah). I had to learn more and make them myself so I used your video and these things are great! Perfect little vehicles for butter!
Cheryl! They look delicious! 🙂😋
I just put these on the top of my list of things to make!! I never knew crumpets were so easy!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
brilliant, thank you! 😊❤
I love crumpets, but have never made them. I have collected some some rings I am hoping will work for crumpets...🤞🤞 Thank you for sharing this recipe; you make it look so easy! ❤️🌻
Oh my goodness. Those look delicious! I will definitely make them! 🇨🇦 😋
They look amazing!! ❤
I have never been a fan of homemade English muffins ( tried several recipes) but...I will definitely make these crumpets. Thank you for the recipe.

I absolutely love crumpets & these look delicious. I've only just watched the video so I think I'm going to make these this morning for breakfast. Might add some parmasen cheese to mix to.make them savoury. Another great recipe Cheryl & 1 I'm definitely going to be giving a go today.
They look fantastic!
Hi Patrick! 😀👋 They were lovely...so easy too!
These look delicious! I’m drooling. 🤤 I’ll need to find some crumpet molds, but I definitely want to try this recipe. 😋
I shared this with my family members. :)
Those look really good.
I LOVE them. We can’t get these in the states Cheryl. I will try these for sure. They seem so easy to make. I’ll have to see if Amazon has the rings … cheers! …Brian
So lovely❤
Wonderful Cheryl, made my mouth water mmmm ❤
Excellent!
Another good one John very nice yummy 👍
Yes - I am planning to make these.
Great!
Hi Cheryl, they look delicious, I didn’t realise that crumpets were so simple to make, will definitely give these a try at some point. Just to clarify the water quantity, in the video you have 9fl oz (266ml) in your jug, but your written amount states 11.4fl oz (340ml), so not entirely sure which to follow. As always, thank you 🙏 for sharing.
Take care & happy cooking 🧑🍳💞💕🩷 xx
You have probably figured it out by now but the standard recipe calls for 235 grams/ml of water. 360 ml. is waaay to soupy for crumpets. 235 ml. will give it more of a rise. However there are differences between all-purpose flours. I would start at 235 ml... an extra 30 ml. is not a lot (use it if needed for your flour.) After making it a few times you will get a feel for how the batter is and wing the water amount.
@@RedRisotto Thank you for the information & for taking the trouble to reply to my question, it’s very much appreciated.👍😊
@@davidmurphy816 Cheers.
@@RedRisotto 🙏👍
Looks good, delicious...served with tea from kericho Kenya...slaps like something else
I never think of crumpets…and they’re so dead simple!
Love your channel ❤thanks a lot ❤
Those look delicious
I absolutely love your accent
Well in Cheryl
How easy gonna make them Saturday
Interesting. Thank you!
Cheryl i commented earlier , & jabe just made rhese, they are delicious. My batter did seem a bit thinner than yours did so.i thouggt they were gonna be a disaster but for a 1st attempt they turned out well. I only had the fluted pasrty cutters so used those as the rings & they did stick a bit even tho i greased them well but expected that as they not meant to be used for crumpets. So will get some crumpet rings. But very impressed with them will definitely be making these often.
❤ thank you!!! 🎉
Thank so much for sharing this recipe! They taste super. First try - but my stainless steel forms made them stick. Used the butter/oil and brushed on the inside. Perhaps I should have bought the non stick rings? Love your channel!
Yummy
Thank you very much 😊
I love your accent!!
I’m not a big baker and going to try this recipe. :)
They would be delicious with a big cup of tea.
I think there is a mistake in the amount of water in the recipe. 340 ml is too much. It should be 250 mm. If you look closely at the step for step instructions, you will see she actually uses just 250 ml.
I just made them and they are gorgeous. 🙂
I came on to ask the same question / make the same comment.
Have a whole file of your recipes! Thank you, Cheryl. I don't even remember when I last bought butter, thanks your home-made recipe - just wonderful! I'll be making your crumpets this weekend.... :-)
awesome 👍
crazy idea here, add to the mix 1/2 tsp cinnamon sugar mix per piece made. either in the mixing bowl or in the pane after pouring the batter into the molds. & give a quick stir to mix. looking for something like a cinnamon roll but as a crumpet.
Lovely things & one of my favourites. Crumpets & pikelets are such a comforting treat with a big mug of tea for supper. I recently made some cooked in bone-marrow & served them as a side slathered with bone-marrow butter on top as a side for some roast beef. Heavenly. Also good with butter & cheese melted on top, but that's my savoury tooth kicking in. They are good with homemade Scottish raspberry jam too though.
Great recipe & thanks for the great video.
I've definitely got more of a savoury tooth than a sweet tooth...so cheese sounds wonderful! 😊👍
@@WhatsForTea Especially with a good splash of on Lea & Perrins on top! 😋
Gave them a try today. My batter was much thinner than yours, but my yeast was 3 years old so that might have been the issue. They did end up looking similar to yours. Will follow your advice and have some for breakfast tomorrow.
if you used 340 mlof water then it is was definetly too much. She actually uses just 250 ml if you watch carefully.
Love all your recipes - miss them lately because my dad was the best cook in the house, now I have to teach myself. What is the make of the frying pan you use? I assume it is a 12" pan. Thank you for all your videos. . 💞
I love crumpets 2:55
I would have loved to see what the inside looks like. I wonder if our English Muffins here in the States are a knock off from your lovely crumpets.
Might be. Bur while I looove English muffins, I didn't like the crumpets that I bought in the supermarket
No. Muffins and crumpets are completely different. Home made English muffins are delicious too.
Definitely not. Very different texture. Crumpets are more bouncy, Yummy with butter and honey. You have to toast them
Very nice. I would have liked to have seen the texture of the inside. I really like crumpets. Might give them a go, but perhaps with whole wheat flour.
The ones that I have seen at the supermarket have lots of holes in them, as though it were formed by yeast bubbles. Bread is my favorite thing in the world, and I love English muffins, but these do not please me. I purchased them at the supermarket and pop them in the toaster, and they never seem to crisp up, they're spongy, and there's a sour taste that is not like sourdough. There's just something off about them
@@LindaC616 It’s that hint of tanginess and the fact that they remain soft in their centers that make me love them! It’s interesting that we’re so different, and yet we both enjoy Cheryl and her channel, don’t we? 🙂
@@janicewalker477 I'll give you all my crumpets! 🙃
Hi Cheryl, love the recipe but I think there is a typo! 240ml water I think!
Yummy best with honey.
Going to try this in my waffle maker 😂
😁😁😁 🧇🧇🧇
Or if you can't buy the rings you can also use some used tuna cans take the bottom out and wash them really good and use them. Just love crumpets they are yummy.
Great tip!
@@LindaC616 You are welcome!
Nice idea
I put cat food cans in dishwasher before recycling and never thought how well they would work! Thank you!
They look delicious. If you make them the day before eating them, what is the best way to store them till breakfast next day?
Guess what’s for tea in my house today 🎉
wow beautiful
Hi Cheryl how are you doing I love watching you all the time all your different videos are wonderful Thank you 🙏🏻 for always sharing them 🙏🏻✝️☮️🌹💜💐❤️🩹❤️💕🌺💚🍀
Hey, kiss from Brazil.
Hello Brazil! 💋
Hi, like the look of these but which is it 340ml water or 240ml ? Mixed mine with 340 and it’s very thin, added more flour 90grm plus a tad more baking powder / salt to make it thicker. Fingers crossed.
I found the instructions but mine come very thick dough and not thin to pour don’t understand what’s I did wrong
Can I make them with sourdough starter?
In your video you have 240ml water in the measuring cup not 340ml?
You say to add 340ml of water but in the video you only have 250ml so which is right ?
Lovely; however, coming from The South of the US; I have never understood why people up North and across the pond North go to all the bother of adding baking powder and salt when you can buy self-rising flour already standardized.
Control.
Your directions and dialogue says 11.5 oz water, or 340 ml. However, watching the video you actually use 8 oz, or 250 ml. Which is correct?
I could listen to you talk for hours. Where from?
Look nice, but I prefer Scottish crumpets!
Yes, it was lovely to see the hair on the bottom of the crumpet when you were showing them off at the beginning. Hope you pulled it off before eating.
****warning recipe has too much water****
I tried them and the recipe is off. The video shows 340ml but on closer inspection the beaker has approximateky 250ml. So the batter was extremely thin and there is no way this can make crumpets. I'm not at all happy about wasting my time and igredients.
340ml water in the ingredients list.. yet 250ml was used in the video?
Darn, bad house wife, need to buy plain flour. Ran out. 😊😊
