- In this week´s motorhome life video we travel from France to Switzerland. As we cross the border we are amazed by the stunning views and the snow-covered landscape. We explore various attractions, including a toboggan run and a funicular railway. But end up with us enjoying hot chocolate on the edge of a snow covered mountain, reflecting on our Swiss adventure.

We really loved Switzerland and had an amazing time recording this video. Robert (we really should have asked his surname, but were hyped from the toboggan and not thinking clearly 🤦🏼♀️) was an absolute hoot. We loved the idea of the watches and the thought process behind it. The conversation was hilarious with the 3 of us all going off on a tangent as we talked. He was telling us all about his travels including his drive to China and encouraging us to do it too. We were in awe of him. Absolute too man. 😍
We're guessing you're used to a snowy environment in Canada, or are you on the west coast..?!? Also when will you be taking your trip to Spain and what parts of Spain will you be travelling to..?!?

We live on the East Coast and recently received 1.5 m of snow in little over a day. It was not fun !! We will be travelling in the N/W part of Spain walking the Camino de Santiago for the second time.
The deep snow sounds like fun, but only if you don't have to go out in it. It must be difficult to function with that level. We have friends who live in Espanola and we often get beautiful looking photos, but then she explains that it's -40° and suddenly it doesn't seem so lovely.
When is your trip..? We are slowly heading that way. 💜🤟

Actually it wasn't as cold as we were expecting and with the 72 layers we were wearing, we were quite toasty. It did make it slightly difficult for me (Alison) to get up from my snow angel though, because I had so many layers on, I couldn't bend properly in the middle...!

Switzerland was a HUGE amount of fun. The toboggan was a real highlight, the mountains and snow and hot chocolate were awesome. The bar of chocolate was a bit of a let down, but hey, you can't have it all. 🤣😂

Hi folks! We drove directly to our new home just outside Torrevieja. Been here 7 weeks now and very busy settling in. Planning a few road trips for March though. Weather has been amazing so far 😅 ❤🇪🇦

So envious, that was one of your (if not, the) most awesome vidoes. Loved watching your adventures in the Alps.
Never been to Switzerland, but our favourite ever family holiday was driving down for a week in the Austrian Alps. Brought back so many memories of similar activities. We went in May to the Kitzbuhel area when there was still snow on some summits but the meadow flowers were out on slopes and valleys. Everywhere was just so clean and the air was so fresh.
I can tell you will return sometime but also recommend Austria as well.

@@findingxanadulife thanks so much for the reply sorry I’m just seeing it. We are in Tampa Florida, which has become very very expensive and we are flying through our 50s so we want to see the world. We are working on things that need to be done to sell our house which is daunting at times. Recently my husband has become overwhelmed with the details of getting the non lucrative visa in Spain but as we see just on UA-cam that many people do it… also we are considering moving to Panama because of cost And ease of visiting family in the states and doing 6 months there and 6 months in Europe half in Schengen and half out. We will be traveling with 3 cats until our much older one passes so that is another obstacle but I always use you as an example that it can be done with pets. So thank you. I might hit you up for information once we get closer to selling and moving forward but just know you are an inspiration and we travel much the same as you out of the cities. Our favorite place is Iceland. ❤️ take care and happy travels

Darren and I both been to Florida separately, but it was a very, VERY long while ago. I will always remember going to Busch Gardens in Tampa. It was the highlight of my holiday, when I overtook 'Miss Budweiser' the Unlimited Hydroplane boat on the Interstate. Having raced a much smaller version as a teenager, I always daydreamed of driving her. 😍
We considered relocating to several different areas, far and wide, before deciding to take to the road. Travelling with oldies isn't always easy, but the highs outweigh the lows.

Oh my goodness, Busch Gardens is the best. When our son was younger we had year passes so we could go whenever we wanted which unfortunately was only a few times a year because of life. lol Thank you so much for the offer of help, we may take you up on that. We always look forward to your STUNNING videos. That was for Darren :) BTW I am loving the videos of France, my dna testing showed I am 57% French/German & 29% British/Irish which was.a shock to me actually I had no idea… So we look forward to going to those places. My grandfather would talk about Alsace Lorraine France…
@Suziereed Life does have a tendency to get in the way sometimes. We only went the once. My family were staying in Orlando, like everyone does and drove to Tampa for the day. There was an immense thunderstorm at the end of the day too, that we were trying to outrun back to Orlando. 🤣🤣
France was lovely. We still have lots of the Alsace-Lorraine region on our list to visit. Especially Strasbourg, Nancy and the smaller towns like Colmar and Kaysersberg. There is just too much to see, so we are trying to split them between our visits in and out of Europe.
I love hearing about people's DNA and their families migration around the world. Humans have always been nomadic. My grandfather always told us his roots were Irish, we think from a travelling Carnival. Probably where I get my wanderlust from. He and I used to go wandering together when I was a kid. When my sister ran our DNA profile, it seems we were 13% Scottish, 8% Germanic European, 5% Sweden and Denmark and 2% Norway. So we are Dane/Viking/Saxon/Celt mix. 🤣🤣💜🤟

We started watching your channel because my husband and I live in the city of Valencia and you were creating great videos about lesser known places around there. It’s been fascinating to watch you transition into caravan life.
We like traveling around as well, but more so by train.
My husband is Canadian and I am American. He speaks French, so I asked him about the “fromage” sign the turnstile for the cablecar. That was pretty cute. 😆

Is trying to speak French has been a nightmare ask round. I (Alison) learned french at school, but haven't used it for 36 years, so it is bad at best. Darren struggles with flipping between Spanish and English, so adding an extra language in, has not gone well. Basically when we open our mouths to speak French, Spanish comes out and we REALLY have to concentrate on anything else. 😂🤣😂🤣 It's a work in progress for both of us.

Oh how freaky is that .?!? I didn't notice it to be fair, I leave all the music choice to Darren and 'encourage' him to wear his headphones whilst editing, so I can still read my book. 🤣😂🤣 I believe I have been to Ickworth House before a long time ago, although it's also as likely that I got there and decided it was too expensive to go in. 🤣😂

I have to apologise for my swearing, as I was a little taken back by the enormous drops my side of Perse at times too. 🫨 I'm normally good with heights, but not when in road vehicles. 🤦🏼♀️ Several times I caught myself saying 'oh my goodness look at that' followed closely by 'nope, scratch that, look at the road'..! 🤣😂🤣😂
As for toboggan, I could have stayed there all day. We were so lucky as it had only opened for the season the day before. It was meant to be. Fingers crossed you'll get there. 🤞

@comealongdear I realised that one downside of being higher up in the camper, is you can see over the guard rails to the enormous drops. Not ideal, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. 😬
Last night we had a 3" deep puddle right outside the main door and it was heaving down, but at least the dogs feet were clean when they came back in. 🤷🏼♀️
We hope it warms up for you. Wet or cold, that should have to be the choice. No-one should have to deal with both. 💜🤟

We tried to stop at a Suchard Factory, but there was just no parking large enough for us, anywhere remotely close, so we had to give up.

Hi Steve, Darren here... Funny you should say that, we saw a sign for Verbier and it took me a minute to remember why I knew the name... Old age memory... However we won't be visiting this time round, but there are a couple of Swiss towns I want to revisit hopefully on our way to Turkiye at the end of the year!
