Whenever I see videos like this, I remember that we Swiss should just be happy. A great country to live in. Thank you for visiting us. You are nice people. Please visit us again.
Hi Nicole and Mark, nice to meet you. Glad to hear you were enjoying yourselves in my country. You mention the Korean TV series, so you must have been to Iseltwald ;-) I hate the smoking, too. So disgusting. Up until about 14 years ago, it was actually allowed to smoke INSIDE a restaurant. Too bad you came here during the off season - on the other hand, you have to come back soon!
Thanks for checking out our new channel. Nice to meet you too! We did go to Istewald. We took the interlaced ferry there. It was great! Despite the off season, it was truly an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back!!
Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyy. It took me SO long to make a UA-cam video I personally enjoyed watching after I posted it. But you guys did such a good job on your first video! So epic.
Broooooo!!! Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I’ve been watching your travels across the country and you’ve inspired me more than you know. Keep adventuring!!
The Korean show is called "Crashlanding on you" and because of it we're currently overrun my Asian (mostly Korean) tourists who want to checkout the filming locations 😅
Proper swiss breakfast is Birchermüesli. Bärner Oberland is an amazing place, that's were Lauterbrunnen is. You say you hiked around Appenzell, did you go up Säntis? That's the biggest mountain in the area, it's a great introduction mountain hike, I have done it many times. Where would you recommend is the best place in USA to hike mountains? For someone with lot's of experience in the Alps.
Thanks for the recommendation for breakfast. We did hike up Santis and it was great! As far as USA goes for hiking, and just to note we're no experts, but the Colorado Rockies are amazing and you can also check out Moab Utah.
Greetings from Germany .... expat here 35 yrs here now.... glad you took a chance and came to Europe!!!! Restaurants in Switzerland are probably the most expensive in the EU..... not sure you were aware of this..... maybe next time try Germany!!!!!! Much of the same however much cheaper.... cheers to you both and be well
Swiss restaurants: the most expensive in the EU..? Did I miss something big in Swiss politics? ...the EU and EFTA aren't the same. I know, knitpicking, but still a relevant difference.
Swiss Pass can be purchased once you arrive in Switzerland or you can buy online. I would recommend joining some Switzerland Travel Facebook groups. This one was super helpful for us when planning our trip. m.facebook.com/groups/SwitzerlandTravelPlanning/?ref=share&mibextid=SDPelY
Y'all sound like my wife and I. We like adventures and we're planning our lifetime trip to climb Kilimanjaro in Africa! We were training and hiking local hikes around La and some in CO and AZ and TN, then life happened and we were involved in a motorcycle wreck where we both were injured. She got a bad concussion and I was broken up. Broke left arm destroyed right shoulder broken toes ect, ect... Well it slowed us down but it did not stop us and let me tell you if you make it out of a wreck like we were in then you really don't take the things for granted that God has made the beauty of nature and adventure and a passion for photography and sharing our experiences with others is what we plan on doing too so we will follow y'all and share with y'all ours adventures as we go thru this life together! Love your video and it's what we wanna do and see! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thanks for checking us out and appreciate the kind words too! Climbing Kilimanjaro sounds incredible. You're gonna have to let us know how it goes for ya! Definitely something Nicole and I would really enjoy. We signed up to do a 29029 Everesting event in Vancouver in September for my birthday. Ever heard of it? So sorry to hear about the motorcycle wreck, but awesome to hear it's not stopping you guys from slowing down a bit. Keep after it!!!!
@@MarkandNicole I haven't heard of that but I have been thinking of a base camp climb at Evrest . But I think Machu Pichu is next for us then maybe Denali then Evrest base camp hopefully if I don't break down before that seems like after 40 things stsrt breaking... LOL.
You have a beautiful home country Werner and we can't wait to visit again and see more of it! Next time we'll go check out the Bodensee area. Thanks for watching.
I went to Switzerland last year (even to Zermatt) and never had an inkling about having Indian food or any non-regional cuisines. When I went to Britain during university, I did go to a Pizza Hut but I came to realize that it is better to do more authentic things that you can’t do or have here.
Good channel, nice that you share your first experience with me as a Swiss:) Another small note, you should clarify who is talking about you. You often talk into the word and mostly the man talks 😅For me as a listener it was often exhausting to watch. So in the future, clarify who tells what;)
As a Swiss 🇨🇭🇨🇭 , I give you one piece of advice. Do not visit our mountain region between the end of the snow season and the beginning of summer. Why? Because many hotels need a break after a hard winter. It is not the weather, but millions of tourists that make us tired. For this reason, many hotels are closed. Summer, autumn and winter are the most beautiful moments in Switzerland. Especially autumn, when the golden leaves line the paths everywhere.🇨🇭🇨🇭
As a Swiss person, I thank you for your visit and the video. But you should pay a little more attention to the audio quality. Nicole's special accent and the poorly placed microphone makes her practically unintelligible...
Glad that my home country treated you well. Take care and come back visit us again.
We will!
Great to see more 50-somethings sharing their Swiss travel experiences! Your 2nd visit will be even better. Keep up the great work!
More to come! We’ll be back!!!
Whenever I see videos like this, I remember that we Swiss should just be happy. A great country to live in. Thank you for visiting us. You are nice people. Please visit us again.
What awesome content. It looks and sounds like such a magical place. Thank you for sharing this incredible adventure!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Interessting to hear your opinion and insights as a swiss. Glad you had a good stay.
Thanks! 😃
Loved Lauterbrunnen!! We stayed in Wengen (we originally were going to stay in Interlaken but glad we went up higher up in the mountains)
Very enjoyed your video. Always interesting how visitors see "my" country. Glad you had a good time
Thank you for taking the time to watch. We're just getting started. Would love to visit Switzerland again sometime soon.

Swiss here: you should learn German, Mark, your pronunciation is really good! Anyway, glad you enjoyed your time in my country 😀
Thanks!! I would really love to learn German.
Love to hear such deep insights about my country....good you like most of it
You live in such a beautiful country and as an American I can tell you, it by far surpassed all of our expectations. 🙌🙌

Congratulations on your launch!!! Your video is amazing, Coach Mark and Nicole ❤👏
Thank you Ellaine! We really appreciate it 😊
Excited to see you guys on UA-cam Mark :)
Thank you Maxime. Pumped to be here!!
The Korean show is called "Crashlanding on you" and because of it we're currently overrun my Asian (mostly Korean) tourists who want to checkout the filming locations 😅
I bet it can be hard to accommodate all the influx of tourists. Hope it doesn’t change the beauty of this beautiful country 🙏

How do you get a Swiss Pass? My parents are traveling to Switzerland in August and they need some guidance.
Thanks! 😊

Hi, good to watch you guys. 😊
Thank you for taking the time to check us out. Stick around. More to come!! 🙂
great video guys.... what dates did you travel?
Thanks Hudd. We travelled from may 2nd to the 16th right in the middle of their off season.
Just trying to say anything in the local language will immediately make you friends
Same in the United States.

Your background music is far too loud.
Switzerland is nice. I would prefer Yellowstone NP.
