Tough times no matter the age. Dad is Dad and there's no way around it. Sorry for your loss. I am glad that you were able to develop such a great relationship after your early years and calling him your hero is one of the nicest compliments a son could give their Dad. Take care of yourself and your family!
its different in our 50's than it was in our teens and 20's. I lost my mom when I was 23 and I was devastated for a long time, I lost my dad a couple years ago and yeah it rocked me, but after the initial shock wore off, it was a more reflecting experience than grief. In your teens and early 20's you feel like you lost someone who won't be there for your future, but when you are in your 50's, you have had that time with them and you have started to lose more people on what starts to seem like a normal rate and instead of losing yourself into grief, you kind of look at things like a turn based thing waiting for your turn.
My condolences to you and your family, its hard to lose a close family member, there are times ill think about the good times with my lost family members, thanks for sharing
Time and tide wait for none of us but good memories of those that have past I think reminds us to give thanks to the time we had together . Cheers mate keep the chin up thanks for sharing what is a difficult time in your life . Keep the shiney side up mate !
Sorry again for your loss Tim, any pain he was in, he's not anymore, if you believe, he'll visit you and let you know he's doing good. Talk to him still and he'll hear. My riding season is done... snow storms close by, drove through some nasty weather yesterday, -10C here with wind chills.
@meandmyshadow7839 yessir!! Although for the algorithm of motoalley I've got a personal channel that I'll be posting those videos to. youtube.com/@kylede21?si=OyL8IIs2MDxzQ1a1
@meandmyshadow7839 it's what I get for living in Canada lol Yea ill be working on that, posting those videos on my other channel though, I'll be doing a bit of work on the bike as well and starting another project that'll also be posted on my other channel
Good to see you riding and filming again. Sorry to hear the news, How's riding this side? Of late I hit my seat with my gloved fist to break up the ice crystals then wipe as much off as I can before riding home. If would be nice to get the afternoon weather in the morning as well but I have the thermal layer and wind block layer in my jacket now and with balaclava and neck gator the upper body is doing good now but the fingers need better than just gloves so i might consider looking at heated gloves now.
Tim, my dad passed away 25 years ago. I never got to grieve as I thought I would. In a manner of speaking-im still "numb". I'm sure you are in an "auto pilot" mode to some point. When you break, don't be afraid to let your kids see you cry, it lets them know you ARE human. They will support you in that moment so greatly. My truck traveling trip may be in jeopardy of not happening. My friend is-it seems- is skirting the issue of getting the plans all set and completed for the journey in his big-rig. I'm not worried, God knows what's best! You've got my e-mail address, so if you need a shoulder to text on, I'm available! Doug
So sorry for your loss. Lovely words describing your Dad’s life. Take care of yourself
