That was awesome. I didn't know any of that about Penix and now I see why he became a pocket passer, it wasn't because he doesn't have the athleticism it's because he was protecting his body. If not for injuries he'd have been a top 5 pick a few years ago. He reminds me of Steve McNair as a passer.

@@dalelange845they really aren’t. The falcons have been in QB hell since Matt Ryan left. Literally the last two years should have been winning seasons but the QB play has been atrocious. They simply don’t want to deal with that again. Then with Kirk they won’t be picking this high in the draft ever again because that’s all their offense needed to score point. Their defense though they couldn’t get sacks was still in the top half of the nfl last year so this was honestly the right move now they have QB security for the next 15-20 years

  • @hummervs3278

Doesn’t make about his age being a problem imo.
The nfl teams get every new draftie on that contract for 4 years with the 5th year option.
Would a player be more desirable if 19,20,21,22. Etc? No the money is the same. The contract length is the same.
Brady was 45 when he retired. His last Super Bowl win was at 43. Who cares if they would have got him at 21 or 24. Forget Brady by himself- average age of a Super Bowl winning QB is 30-31.
It’s all about the skill set and being matched with right coaches, right players.
The reason- the only reason Penix is down in the rankings so far is because he is a super risky player. Like playing poker and pushing “all in” often to win, and this almost always leads to injured players.
When those injuries add up over time the ability to make the big plays fails. Eventually the ability to play fails because of the injuries.
Penix is simply high risk. In high school he was more athletically built than most the guys tackling him.
In college the guys talking him were at his level and some above it. NFL- he will be facing the best there is. One monster hit from a guy like Maxx Crosby, Joey Bosa, Micah Parson, Khalil Mack, Gon Miller. Ok- those up front dudes can put a qb down hard and often. But for QB like Penix it’s way worse. Because he is fast and at some point will be running north at speed when some monster is running south at full speed. Warner, Smith coming at full speed- or guys like Ndomukong Suh who still believes the game of the 70s&80s is best. Could you imagine HOWIE LONG coming at this guy full
    Force?. Career ender.
I like Penix. Kinda would like him on my team- but only because I believe the current starter we have can step in and keep wins rolling flawlessly once our offensive line is improved some. If ya can’t tell who my team is- better go read those names again. Haha

Of all the QB’s last year with how loaded it was and how many went before halfway through the first round, he interested me the most. His injury history and “older” age for a rookie can definitely put some teams off, but honestly the Falcons making him a backup to Cousins was honestly not a bad option. I’ve never seen someone through such deep balls with pin point accuracy, his arm is definitely NFL and I hope he continues to pursue a starting job in the NFL.

I pray that this guy never gets injured again and hope that the falcons protect him so. Players are faster in the NFL and the falcons would be stupid to throw him out there, before they get him that protection. Once their team is built around him, I see nothing but great things happening for Atlanta. I see them maneuvering Kirk once this happens. I just saw this guy play last year and I can honestly say I haven't seen a more pinpoint passer with the arm that he has. I have seen the best of the best. He is just amazing along with Mr. Stroud. Not throwing any shade on the other past and current greats, just my opinion.

I do analysis for the nfl draft. Im one of about 1000 people that get called on for tape analysis, etc...
Penix is a massive risk. I admire him. He's as tough as it gets. However, there's a major issue.
There are two injuries QBs suffer very often. Knee and non throwing shoulder. Penix has had 2 acl tears in the same knee. That's a surgical failure. You don't get 3 acl surgeries and play again. He's at 2.
His NTS was basically a catastrophic injury. The shoulder seperation was relatively minor, but it affected his zip permanently.
In the NFL, hes gonna get hit. He didn't get touched in Seattle. They schemed him out of it. You can't do it the NFL.
His "bump card" is full. Its not if, but when he gets another right ACL tear. That's his career unless the doctors are soulless. You don't take the risk.
    I really like him. I don't believe he'll make it 3 years.

Analysts opinions mean 100% Nothing just there opinion, then there next words are always “ he’s the first player to do this or that” - sorry you don’t know and everyone has a different path in life to make it whatever field or profession it is , Penix already proved your analysis wrong cause he’s done way better after the injuries, records - championship game , always wrong and just talk without facts or proof , it’s an eye test. , Penix Jr. has passed and looks better than everybody in 24 draft , daniels is right there with him but more lengthy but not thicker by muscle or strength, Penix has to stay in pocket a bit more , run when open and slide or run out - every qb in NFL is in a bad situation if they get hit by a big Lineman , happened to Tom Brady missed whole year-Aaron Rodgers , almost every qb , and acl not really worried as long as time to heal and get stronger he’s a qb not running back, Adrian Peterson ACL tear then rushes for over 2k yards after missing year, 1st to do it , I’d bet on Penix Jr with what I see recently then against him , and don’t like most of the QBs other then Daniels on Washington, we’ll see how no.1 Caleb Williams does ,not looking better then that Penix arm , it’s like he’s throwing a baseball his hands and strength are some of the biggest in NFL, easier to handle the NFL size ball , very important, cause he can get rid of it easier -How about Tua’s head injury career ender , lots of injuries in college, playing great with different coach, All or most of NFL is brain damaged, how about Kirk Cousins leg snapped backwards, 2 years back on ATL and playing like MVP, Penix looks bigger and looks like he changed his game to pocket passer , big hands , still has zip and strong arm amazing accuracy especially deep, the zip crazy fast spiral is not affected he’s showing this after the injuries and only proved his worth , alot of smaller QBs then him that got hurt , jalen hurts runs and slides now or runs out , there’s ways of playing smart, most QBs aren’t built body wise like Penix , looks like very strong big upper body even though he has 4.5-6 speed on the 40 yard dash , looks great in pocket and a winner , NFL that ball looks easy too easy to throw for him , as you are an analyst you wouldn’t have taken Tom Brady no.1, so analysts opinion really means Nothing, your eyes don’t lie- analyst or just have an opinion cause medicine is better then ever , and you don’t have facts , and nothing in the 90s we have advanced as you can see with Penix jr. If you were right his career would have been over he already proved your analysis wrong

    • @RomanCzar-g8o
      @RomanCzar-g8o 26 днів тому

He already proved you opinion wrong , analyst isn’t a real job it’s an opinion based argument, no facts or you wouldn’t have so many no 1 busts and so many lower level picks and I drafted guys becoming stars, He passed the eye test after the injuries, all QBS are fragile, he looks bigger , stronger , and arm looks more ready then other QBs taken , I will say Daniels playing the best , can’t wait for Michael Penix Jr. That hand size arm strength, one of biggest and strongest in nfl with accuracy like few before if any , he makes it look too easy.
