The saddest part is, I don't think it would've mattered even if they kept Mayfield. They would've just shattered his confidence. Him and Stefanski were at each other's throats, they called him a child after he played through a *season ending* injury just to try and keep the team competitive, and all around just acted like a total clown show. This is a hell of Cleveland's own making, *what a shocker.*
Big reason I'm not jumping to any conclusions with Bryce Young. QB statistical success and failure can be so closely tied to the ability of the team, that it's not really an accurate assessment to just draw conclusions with what the stats show. Sounds absurd, but we have seen, time and time again, QBs that have given bad performances and have terrible numbers with one team give great performances and put up strong numbers with another (i.e., Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold).
@@heyheyhey33351 Unfortunately for Young it seems Dalton immediately found a way to make them better. Teams like the Panthers need to stop throwing young guys in the deep end. Just let Dalton start the season, let Young learn, give him some limited playing time and when everyone is familiar you start him - which could be a year later.
Since Tampa Bay is my 2nd favorite NFL team behind Washington, I'm glad Baker Mayfield is there and not stuck in the clown show in Cleveland. Saved his career for the better!
Imagine reading your script, and it says you are going to be accused of SA by over 20 women, and you wont be the same player as you were in Houston. 💀💀💀
Absolutely. It might be hard for people to agree with based on what kind of person Watson is, but he did prove himself to be, at the very least, a capable NFL starter. And whether an NFL QB has what is considered a Hall of Fame worthy career or not, finding yourself in a starting position for a career, let alone a season, let alone a single game, is SO hard to do. Even having the right stuff to be put on the roster as a second string or third string QB is almost impossible to do. He showed a very rare talent, and he completely blew it. It's so infuriating.
Here's the biggest issue with Watson that alot of people don't realize. When he was drafted, Houston had to quit literally change the whole offense. He couldn't function properly outside of the Clemson system. It's one of the major reasons why he's flopping like a dying fish in Cleveland(among other things). But he cannot run a normal pro style offense.
@@deadinside1662no bc nfl defenses have caught on to his crap and he simply doesn’t have the same skills anymore. The rest of the league has not been sitting on the sidelines like he has.
I think he's flopping mentally.... he has all the money in the world yet cant be seen in public because people hate him... would you be able to concentrate at a sport he more than likley doesn't care about winning in
Browns played well, and he played average in week 2 against Jacksonville, and some people celebrated. Average. Expect nothing more, and you'll be fine. $230m guaranteed, with zillions against the books if they cut him, to get average. Watson's QBR was still second worst in the league at 24.2, (only Bryce Young of the dumpster fire Panthers is worse). His EPA (expected points added) is 0.0. By comparison, Geno Smith is 15, Jacoby Brissett 7.0. Those guys aren't costing their team crazy money. Oh, you like Passer Rating more than QBR? Watson is currently at 63.1. Right next to Drake Maye. Jalen Hurts isn't playing great, but he's still at 84.1. Justin Fields is playing as a game manager for the Steelers, but playing smart. His rating is 93.4. Patrick Mahomes who isn't throwing much (yet) is still at 91.8. Sam Darnold is 111.2.
This is on the Browns as an organization. Watson initially did not even want to go to Cleveland, but the Browns offered him everything and made him the highest paid player in the league at that time. He got the bag and now we are here....That should explain everything if you know where Im coming from.
To be fair he wasn’t accused of rape, it was sexual assault. Definitions matter. What he did was bad enough, accusing him of something he didn’t do though isn’t right.
That is unreal because that never happened. Theres a lot of proof he tried to get massages and probably tried to get more out of those massages but nobody has ever accused him of r@pe
I'm a lifetime Browns fan and Watson is a testament to the awful ownership of Jimmy Haslam. It's his masterpiece of incompetence. I try to console myself somewhat by remembering that there were three or four other teams willing to sign him, but Jimmy is the one who rewarded a predator with the worst contract in NFL history. But the football stuff is secondary to having such an awful person as the face of the franchise. Anyone who can root for him is ethically and morally bankrupt. People buy their kids Watson jerseys, for Christ's sake. It's disgusting. The football side of things is awful, too, of course. His performance aside, we gave up too many draft picks and that contract is pure idiocy that will continue to drag the team down for three more years (at least). Also, Jimmy bringing in Watson somehow transferred all of the baggage and outrage to Cleveland while Houston, who enabled his behavior (and I'm sure knew about it) gets a pass.
@@Dr.RoseDB you happy he lost to the ass giants and my ass cowboys? They beat a team by 5 scoring 18 points against a team that was just losing 34-3 at halftime. Lol
Not to defend him but I know a couple massage therapists. A client hoping he can get them to touch his stick happens a few times a month. It's not that big a deal, they just don't let them book appointments anymore. There are probably a dozen or more guys on any NFL team who have done worst things.

Losing Baker and seeing his career flourish while Watson is literally gaining a check to play like shit is terrible to see. (As a browns fan from OK, this makes the whole situation for me much worse😭.)
I have been waiting for this one. I am a Clemson graduate. The shame he's brought to our school...it is difficult to deal with. I know its not quite on the level of the Penn State bullshit but we just do not need an asshole like this having existed in our program. It really, really sucks that its real, and its forever.
Listening to the Browns ignore every red flag and still throw millions at Watson goes to show exactly why the team has been terrible for nearly its entire existence.
I think at that point they had a great roster and knew they had a few years to win a superbowl.... they were desperate for a playmaker at QB and took their shot. As a Browns fan I don't blame them for moving on from Baker. The franchise was notorious for whiffing on QB's in the draft. Baker wasn't doing anything his last year to justify the team want to retain him. Stefanski said he wanted an adult as a QB. Well obviously this backfired. It sucks because the fans deserve better, but it is what it is.
It's crazy how all of the knocks on Watson pre draft is still a major issue for him currently. His accuracy is all over the place. His arm has gradually gotten even weaker every year. His pocket presence is still extremely poor, often times leaving the pocket too early or scrambling and getting into trouble despite being well protected and having a clean pocket. Alot of holding penalties are due to Watsons poor pocket presence. And his ability to read coverages pre and post snap and making quick progression still has yet to improve since his Clemson days. As a Texans fan I've watched plenty of Watsons games. During his peak years, he never really read coverages and often times make poor decisions but his scrambling and having DHop often bailed him out. Watson would find success throwing to go routes and throwing to Hopkins on 50/50 balls regardless of the coverage. There wasn't much anticipation, it was just throw to someone if he see they're open.
Very astute synopsis, Lauren. The Haslams have no ethics when it comes to character (Maziel, Watson) and this trade will go down as worse than the Hershel Walker trade if the Texans are smart. 20+ accusers sure indicates a pattern of behavior, too, not an organized cadre of gold diggers. Deny, deny, deny. I'm a lifelong Clevelander and Browns fan and I can tell you, the city and its fans don't deserve this. Mayfield was very popular here and played injured for most of a season and got traded. The whole thing is disgusting and a stain on Berry's and Stephanski's reputation. But not if they win.
A grand jury looked at the case and decided there wasn't enough evidence to even go to trial. Hoping a massage therapist will "touch it" is pretty common behavior.
You'd be surprised how many Browns fans I've come across that were straight-up coping for Deshaun Watson. It was embarrassing, and borderline, pathetic to see.

Every bit of the bad karma that Deshaun and the Browns are experiencing is on them. They've done this to themselves and I honestly am enjoying watching the downfall. The moment Baker was cut and they traded for Deshaun I remember telling people in comment sections and in person "the Browns just made somehow the worst decision theyve ever made in their franchises history." Turns out I was right.

Something else that bothered me that I haven't seen mentioned is how he was smiling and acting like he just won the lottery in the postgame after his team just got destroyed in the playoffs by the Texans last year, being gracious in defeat is one thing but if I was a Browns fan that would've really ticked me off. Then again, Cleveland gave him $230 million in guaranteed money to be a below average QB at best so he did win the lottery in a sense
Everyone trying to convince themselves Trubisky was going to be a GREAT QB, let alone an average one, made no sense to me. I swear I lose my mind whenever Trubisky is brought up lol, dude never ever had “it”.
I hate Baker Mayfield because of his attitude when he was in Cleveland, but he definitely helped that organization out and the kid played through injuries that he shouldn’t have and it cost him dearly and the way he was treated afterwards was fucked up and yes Watson at the time was a better QB but something told me that this signing of Watson and baker getting traded was gonna severely backfire on the Browns and ohh boy did it. Now Watson is just straight up ass and Baker Mayfield is an absolute stud with the buccaneers and even my uncle who’s a Bucs fan was shocked on how good Baker Mayfield had gotten.
I don't know if it's an issue with your mic, but I feel like it's picking up too much. Aside from the speech, it's picking up an uncomfortable amount of mouth sounds.
Karma. I was Browns fan before Watson and I'll be Browns fan after. But I've never been so disgusted by anything, not even when they went 0-16, than I am seeing Watson wearing orange and brown.
He said he treat women with respect i don't see how sexually assaulting women is showing respect but he is talented but its a copy cat league so teams started to figure him out he got lucky at first in Houston all he had to do is throw it to D-Hop
@@Dr.RoseDB You watched the defense take care of the Jags yo. Watson only threw for like 160 yards or something. Had a sub 80 rating too. Against a mid defense. Lol. Giants defense is going to shred that guy. And at least their qb is good once in a while. 😂.

If living well is the best revenge, then Baker Mayfield is the Count of Monte Cristo because he's making the Browns look miserably inept (not that that's hard to do)
I’m a die hard Steelers fan, but I still feel bad for Cleveland. Hard for it to feel like a real rivalry when one team is so snakebitten. Glad Baker is prospering elsewhere.
Most of these types of downfall videos you've made are full of empty content and low effort material. If you didn't spend time reading off meaningless stats, or using so much filler words the video would probably be half the length. It really seems like you're copying secret base's collapse series.
I don't blame Cleveland for wanting to trade for Watson. As a fan of the Washington Communists, I know well how it can feel cornering when your team has been bad for a long time, and Cleveland's ownership is bad (like mine was), and were flailing for something to excite the fanbase. Their mistakes were overpaying in draft picks, overpaying in cash, and not doing their homework on who they were getting. Taking a swing at a former star QB in hopes of revival is understandable. But they basically paid the absolute top of the market to buy a car online that they'd never seen in person. Just dumb. If you're buying a damaged asset, you should inspect it carefully, and pay a depressed price. And if you can't do that...then let someone else make the mistake.
This is the reason why I gave up on the browns. Trading baker Mayfield and he is having a better career with the bucs. They gave up a bunch of picks for a joke of a player.
The debate about how long he should be suspended is funny. Why 6 games? If he did it, it should be way more. If he didn't, he shouldn't be suspended at all. To suspend him 6 games suggests that you know he did it, but don't think its that bad.
I remember the Browns were the only team in the NFL trying to trade for him...wait no they weren't ,many teams were. He was a franchise QB. If Atlanta or Carolina signed him the national media and the NFL front offices wouldn't be on a crusade against him. Funny how the narrative gets framed now that Cleveland was so outrageous to sign him.
An ad every minute YT? I had to stop watching. Anyway, as a Texans fan, after being so excited about his play as a QB, Watson was a major, major depressing disappointment.
Groper Cleveland shouldve been blacklisted from the nfl for that seriously then again this is the league where ben rothlesberger and ray lewis did some bad stuff and still got to play.
Imagine trading three firsts, a third, and two thirds for a serial rapist, paying it $230 million guaranteed, and only getting 12 total games out of it in its first two seasons. The Browns absolutely deserve this.
How could that many women accuse Watson of the same thing? I don’t understand that part? Are there really that many women that would take the bait? Surely they must of known something was up, if Watson wasn’t doing anything wrong then why did so many women come forward risking their own careers regardless of what it did to the career of Watson who had everything in front of him to succeed he didn’t have to do this happy ending crap it’s so disappointing to see this, I was a huge fan of his when he was on the Texans but I’m glad they have Stroud now he’s been really good
Risking their own careers? They do nothing of the sort. Not only are they allowed to keep their names suppressed, but if their employer was to retaliate for them filing a civil suit it would be a crime. The only thing these women risk is not getting a fat paycheck from Watson. Is Watson guilty? I have no idea, what I do know is he's never been charged with crime and the only thing his alledged victims want is money.
@@LukeHartman-ro7hlreally, he has a good game and he's the best now. He sucked bad enough in Cleveland with a great roster around him that the coach, GM and owner were over him. Obviously they got the wrong guy, but Baker held that team back.
I hate it for Browns fans honestly. Watson deserves to never see success or fame, but Browns fans don’t deserve to watch their team die again. The ripple effects of this contract will destroy the core they’ve built outside of the QB position.
The best response would be to stop going to games, stop buying jerseys and do a quiet quit on the team. Unfortunately sports fans can't quit their fandom that easily.

Life time OSU and browns fan. Made me sick when we missed out on him...
Groper is done. He makes it hard to root for my life long team
The Browns never should've been resurrected it's a pathetic excuse for a franchise
@@alexandru5369you’re an embarrassment
@@heyheyhey33351 Unfortunately for Young it seems Dalton immediately found a way to make them better. Teams like the Panthers need to stop throwing young guys in the deep end. Just let Dalton start the season, let Young learn, give him some limited playing time and when everyone is familiar you start him - which could be a year later.
Why did Carolina cut him? Why did the Rams let him walk? Maybe Baker had to be humbled to get better.
Since Tampa Bay is my 2nd favorite NFL team behind Washington, I'm glad Baker Mayfield is there and not stuck in the clown show in Cleveland. Saved his career for the better!

Watson is the definition of wasted talent
And a wasted life. He's a scumbag.

I guarantee if Cleveland was to switch to the Clemson system, Watson would be back to his former self.

The fact NFL fans will defend a serial rapist because they like how he plays a sport is unreal
Though he never did anything like that ?
To be fair he wasn’t accused of rape, it was sexual assault. Definitions matter. What he did was bad enough, accusing him of something he didn’t do though isn’t right.
That is unreal because that never happened. Theres a lot of proof he tried to get massages and probably tried to get more out of those massages but nobody has ever accused him of r@pe
messing with them Neanderthals ugh do that to u can’t trust nothing
Was he convicted of multiple rapes? If not, you shouldn’t say such things.
Cool story. Anyways happy Watson got the W last week. Go browns !
I really enjoy this channel! It is informative and keeps it clean without immature cursing and lame jokes. My only point of correction is that "vs." stands for "versus" and not "verse". Even so, thank you for the great content! Keep it coming!!!
Cant believe Groper Cleveland, aka Deharvey Watstein is allowed in the league, let alone out of jail.
