Yeah only musicians will notice that sort of thing, what an incredible band! That keyboardist sounds like Joe Zawinul from Weather report. Crazy!

Yessir ! of all the amazing things about Corey's solo, as an amature keyboard player myself, that was the part that had me blown away to the degree that I think this might be the single greatest keyboard solo I've ever heard. And finally a reactor picks up on this and points it out. Thank you !

You are the only reactor to talk about the difficulty of playing same line in birth hands. Extremely difficult.
The bass player, Michael League, is a damn genius! He does the arrangements and he writes a lot of the originals! Cory Henry is a beast, and what can be said about Larnell Lewis?! He’s just a monster drummer!
I’m in trouble! Obviously I’m addicted to this song and video! COREY and LARNELL are the Monsters in my Music Nightmares!
That look on Shaun Martin's face, that's the look that says, "WTF, dude! I gotta solo on the next song, and you're gonna go and do THAT to me!!!"
The fact that Corey was playing octaves on 2 keyboards stacked on each other with both hands blows my mind still 8 years later. That man is a monster. Larnell on drums is nothing less than quality, and Mike league running the whole show...as a former amateur bassist and current retired amateur bassist, I have nothing but praise and respect for him

11:32 Yep. I'm right with you. I don't know how many times I've watched this video and this point still gets me. The first time I saw this... the band already blew me away. At this point, Mr. Corey Henry had me wanting to take my keyboards, throw them on the ground, and stomp on them 🙂 Either that, or else get to wood-shedding... and I mean wood----shedding!
BTW, the drummer, Larnell Lewis, learned the tunes while on a plane to record the session. This was the first time he was in session with the band.
The Bassist in the baseball shirt - this is HIS project.
He writes most of the music - which of course has to be tabbed out for drums - horns - strings guitars - keyboards etc . .
Corey 🙌.. A piano god among men. If you check out at 11:18 you see control dancing in the background while Corey is killin' it.
I heard this like 20 times before I realized the kick drum and piano keep that same rhythm through the whole song.

It seeems not to matter how many times I watch this "Lingus" video on whoever's channel, my reaction is the same: these musicians are having such a great time playing some extraordinary music together, it makes me get overwhelmed and the tears just start flowing!! These brothers make me "heart happy". Besides that, I'm a music lover. Always have been. I'm 64 now and been playing bass for the last 40+ years. Nowhere close to this level (being self taught and having no instruction/teaching/training/mentorship). Heck, I can't even READ music. But music is in my soul. So I FEEL what you're feeling, bro!!!!

Hey this is a good excuse: from now on at least once per week I am going to pretend I run a reaction channel and that my file for Lingus got corrupted so I need to re-listen it again with proper, full attention to it. Yes this song is that good btw that I would never get tired of re-listens.

Mike ive seen a few of your videos love them....now just along because you noticed that Cory henry was playing with both hands, unison, and being made up on the spot (improvisation)...sir you just got a new subscriber!
