    After my wash day, I usually twist my hair using the LCO (Leave- in conditioner, Cream, Oils) method, I sleep with the twists in overnight covered with a Shower Cap and Duku (headwrap/ scarf). In the morning I undo my twists, don't fluff them out but style using pins. To maintain the twists and keep my hair moisturized I continue sleeping with a Shower Cap on every night and re-applying oil when necessary.

    For about six months I’ve been doing this to my hair to retain moisture. I do it mostly every night and when I wear my wigs which I wear every day now to keep from manipulating the hair. My hair is better for it, it has grown so much. The only thing is, is it does have a sour smell after a few days but that’s ok because I wash once a week and I sleep alone. I was looking for other who do this method to see what their reviews were like and really you’re the only one I found who does it other than to deep condition. Because like you said , with scarves the oil still get soaked up. So for me I spray with oil and water put this on with my bonnet and the next day my hair is better for it. Thanks for sharing.

      April Thanks for your comment April, I’m glad it works for you, I still do this and it doesn’t matter who’s sleeping next to me they just have to get with the program 😆 I’m not sure what could be causing the sour smell, I barely wash my hair, I went from washing once a week to washing once in two months or a month and a half because I honestly don’t need to wash that often, it’s because I’ve moved to China and water here makes my hair super dry and sheds a lot, I don’t think I’ll ever stop doing this! It always wear my natural hair out and this method makes it so easy to do that without feeling like I have to do a lot in the morning. Because my hair is much longer now all I do is remoisterize once a week when I derange and twist out my hair. I’ll upload more videos soon😇

    • @NewYorkNaturals

      Theodorah Ntlawini the sour smell could be coming from the wild growth oils and the fact that I wear a head wrap. I don’t allow the hair to breath unless I’m home. I think I’m going to change that. Thank you for the reply and I look forward to more videos.❤️

      Jasmine Lewis, why not? Like I said in my previous reply... my hait is better for it. I’ve been doing this for months now and I am not joking when I say I have seen better hair health for it and my hair loves the moisture it retains. So I’m going to keep on doing what I have been doing because from my experience it works.🤷🏾‍♀️

    I just searched for this video to see if im the only one in the world who does this. Im glad that im not because this method is absolutely amazing. I usually wash my hair and two atrand twist it on sunday evening then once its time to go to bed i put my shower cap on then my silk scarf and then my bonnet on top. I gor so tired of moisturizing my hair wvwry few days. With this shower cap method i havent put anymore oil or shea butter on my hair since i washed it and twisted it up. Its summer weather now so it does tend to steam up but i usually keep my room cool at night anyway so its not that bad.

      Sanmme.. Not only keeping hair moisturized, but having the baggy/plastic cap on your hair will eliminate damage to your hair from friction on fabric because it hair will just slide around 😊. I'm really hoping if I can do this faithfully that I can finally retain some length lol.

      This method is everything but be careful, give your hair breather, poke some holes in the bag, keeps your hair clean and don’t spray your hair with water at night before wearing the bag, this is to avoid any fungus infections on the scalp and scalp sensitivity that could develop over time. I still do it but I give my head a break and follow the above.

    I was searching for this on Google and came across your vid. This method apparently works so the hair does not dry out over night. But does it also maintain the hairstyle without frizz? And can I put the plastic bag/ cap on a few hours after applying product to the hair and diffusing the hair? Also, did you notice any hair growth? If yes, how much growth in what time table?

    • @chatwithtisa
      @chatwithtisa  4 роки тому +5

      Thank you for watching and for these questions, I’ve been at it with this method, I don’t think that my hair would be this long, black, shiny and healthy without it because on days where I don’t wear my bag the difference is so evident 🙈 my hair does not break so I’m retaining a lot of length, it only breaks if there are knots from me being lazy to detangle regularly. I’ve used this method to maintain hairstyle so often that when I wake up I practically do nothing to the hair. About how much growth I’ve noticed I don’t really know but when my hair is stretched out it’s at nipple length 😅 about diffusing I’ve never done it and I never use any heat on my hair, I just wear the bag directly after applying my products and if I’m not going anywhere for the day I’ll spray a bit of water and wear the bag around the house.

      I now use a plastic bag, shower caps have that thin layer of elastic that could affect the small hairs on your hairline, so I use the small thinner plastic bags I get when I buy vegetables from street vendors, the supermarket plastic bag is too thick and might be uncomfortable. Your hair is always growing, I don’t believe that there’s anything that can fast track it’s growth but we need to be able to retain moisture and make our stands healthier so as to not shed and break. Maybe it has aided my hair growth but I’m not letting go of this method it’s just a part of me now, my hair doesn’t break and shed off because it’s always hydrated and retains moisture. Track your progress when you start and see what changes happen for you.

      It always feels moisturized and soft from that humidity that goes on in the bag, it won't be wet unless you had wet the hair first before wearing the bag. I only oil my hair once a week because it just doesn't lose moisture.

      Do you mean for the whole week without taking it off or everyday at night for a week? I wear it every night and it’s been 3 years or so of doing this 85% of the time 😄

      Yes, I do this only at night and sometimes on the weekend during the day especially after my wash day because my hair takes for ever to absorb moisture 🙃

      Chat With Tisa no matter how hard I try to keep my ends moisturized it still forms single strand knots an I suppose to add moisture daily?

      I’ve come to accept the single strand knots, they’re not going anywhere, I just occasionally cut them, my hair still grows and is long but the knots are there 🤦🏾‍♀️ use raw sheabutter on your ends and spray them with water often 😊
