    ⚠️ Warning: To avoid fungal infections or bacterial infections on your scalp, itchiness, scalp sensitivity and bumps developing on your head, wash your hair often, don’t spray water before wearing the bag, poke some hole on the bag for some air, change the bag often or wash it and reuse it, when your scalp starts to itch don’t scratch rather wash your hair. Don’t keep reapplying products while doing this method, it’s not necessary. During the day let your hair and scalp be free, let it breathe. This method works and helps a lot to retain length, protect your hair, help it grow stronger and make your life easier but you need to maintain hair/ scalp hygiene as well.
    This method has been working for me for over three years, I literally wear a plastic bag to bed every night. It has saved me time and money.
    Today I update you on the benefits and how you can try it, which plastic bag to use and what to do when you take it off in the morning.
    Try it and let me know how it goes.

    This greenhouse method was all the rage in the early 2000s when the natural hair community was just blooming. I used it on my relaxed hair and it worked great.

    I do it everyday, for more than 5 months, my hair is fine, no fungus, no nothing. And now I’m leaving almost 24/7 (only let ir breathe for 2 hours a day), because of my edges. I use rice water, coffe oil and aloe vera. Now I’m starting with the virgin hair fertilizer. I’m past midback lenght🤗

    I took this advice from the first video you posted and I ran with it. However, I sweat a lot and I'd wake up with damp hair and I didn't like the smell i would get from the sweating after 2-3 days. I decided to poke some holes on the plastic using a needle and the game has changed ✨ Thank you for this trick.

      @@chatwithtisa thaaankyoooouuu for the compliment, she is 3years, what I actually did since she is already used to sleeping with her bonnet I cut the plastic in a circular shape and sewed it inside the bonnet 😄, 4 someone that can't sew they can just take it to the tailor, that way she is able to sleep with it, though in the first two days she kept pressing on the bonnet wondering where the sound came from😄 but she eventually got used to it because I used a plastic material that is soft and does not make too much noise, I also poked a few tiny holes to allow some air in and prevent any kind of smell, so I apply castor oil twice on our hair and scalp everyday in the morning and at night before putting the (plastic satin bonet on😄) I did the same to my own satin and it's perfect it saves time all you do is just put it on since inside it has the plastic sewed in already, wish I could share a pic of it but I can't here, the growth after doing this has rapidly changed it changed both the moisture and growth game with minimum cost😄

      @thestoryteller212 3 роки тому

      @@chatwithtisa you are most welcome I wish I was able to share with you the pic when you turn it inside out it's a shower cap then when you turn it over again it's a bonnet, I aslo tried to sew in a shower cap and it works sooo well and pretty easy tooo coz no cutting I just sew the lasting part to the bonnet what you need to do is stretch it out while sewing especially if either or both have a lastic because when you sew a lastic without stretching it as you sew after sewing it won't stretch😁, it's super fun and easy since I keep my protective styles for some time before taking them out and there are times when I prefer wearing a head wrap and whenever I take the head wrap there is oil on it and it rips the moisture out of my hair so what I do is just put on my my hair cap that has a shower cap sewed in and theen my head wrap and the moment I take my head wrap out when I get back home my hair is super moisturized 😅 that means less work in moisturizing my hair before I sleep anytime I wear a headwrap😁

    It's just like carefree curl back in the days, the only thing you don't put the ammonia and the relaxing cream on your hair, It works well on natural hair, it keep the hair well moisturized. I've been doing this for eleven months, and my hair grew significantly in that time frame. Right now my hair is 12 inches from 6 inches. You can still use the carefree moisturizer and activator, if you want the curly look. I do the GHE four times a week. And you can wear your hair is a afo, bantu twist, braids. I agree. I do not recommend doing the baggy method on damp or wet hair because repeated use could cause fungus to grow on the scalp(which can lead to hair loss) and moisture overload on the hair strands. I strictly do this on dry hair.

    Hi, I washed my hair with conditioner and water warm and put oil hair whenever the bagged method let me know if it's not clean. It will grow. I wear it overnight and it would be steam and the hair grow for few years. I can't help it because it's the way to see if there's new growth.

  • @Browndigs69
    @Browndigs69 2 роки тому +8

    Don't use the supermarket plastic bag they contain toxins. The ghm and the baggy method are different there not the same thing. Ghm use oils Bm you will need water spray bottle Lin or moisturiser you can use a little oil as well on mid lengths and ends if you wish to add, but I don't botther. You can also baggy your ends if you don't want to do your whole head. Ghm is more focused on growth as baggy method is more for dryness. But there both good for moisture and length retention. I use to do this as a little girl this method is nothing new to me. I'm starting to use it again as my hair is dry AF. Warning do not do the baggy method more then 3 times a week as you do not want moisture overload. The ghm I think you can do more than that or every night but I probably wouldn't do it more than 5 times a week your hair still needs to breath. But it's personal preference. But yes Listen to sister she is right you can save money doing this method than always applying lots of products every day. With the bm and ghm you only need to use a little product the steam is doing all the work. Or you might not even need to use product with the baggy method just a little water and put the bag on or no water depends if you sweat alot or your body can produce enough heat. Just experiment to see what works for you. Best to do it over night or 3 to 4 hours in the day. Baggy b4 a workout and take off when complete to let your hair dry and breath.

    I'm about to do this but just watched a video @greenbeauty talking about how it damages the hair i.e. cuticles are weakened! In any case I'm gonna give it another go! I used to wear shower caps when I had wet look years ago it didn't bother me then. But now my hair is natural its stuck at bra strap length! which is annoying especially as its been over a year! I have to try something else. I know I'm really lazy in keeping my hair moisturized!!
    Also I was thinking about a shower cap because the bonnets allow oil to seep through onto my pillows. Would u use a shower cap or do just prefer the plastic bag?

    • @chatwithtisa
      @chatwithtisa  3 місяці тому

      I do believe that this method has its cons as much as its pros and that’s why it needs to be done in moderation. I do it while my hair and especially scalp is clean, so that’s about 2 weeks from wash day, I only wash my hair once a month. I also poke holes at the top of the plastic to let in some air. A plastic back allows for more room than a shower cap, so I use a plastic. Don’t worry about the length of your hair mine has been the same length for the past 4-5 years or so and it’s okay as long as it’s healthy.

    How did you get the moisture in your hair the very first time you tried this? You say you dont spray or wet your hair at night. Is it just tour hair's natural oils that creates the moisture?

    • @chatwithtisa
      @chatwithtisa  3 роки тому +7

      Remember you would have already washed and moisturised your hair so all that good stuff is in it already, you just keep to keep it in the hair till the next wash, so the bag does that for you. I only wet my hair when I get ready in the morning, wetting it daily at night before wearing the bag might cause fungal infections, I have slept with wet hair but that's usually after a wash day when I want my hair to absorb the leave-in conditioner (non rinse out one), I also hardly reapply oils, but if you need to, just give your hair what it needs. I hope this answers your question.
