    Listen to the lady! Lol, dont do it too much, I ended up with spots on my scalp which were sore and itchy, I've never had scalp problems before, but I decided I was going to grow my hair fast, all it did was set me back, because I went overboard.

      Thank for pinning my comment, I was lucky, I washed my hair and then made sure I did not put any oils near my scalp, I also stopped conditioning with heat for a while, I think my problem was that I was opening my pores and allowing too much oil to become trapped, which caused the spots and itching, I used to bag my hair up all the time when I had a wet look years ago, but just like skin changes, your scalp can change too, I also used protien conditioners, keeping it away from my scalp the best I could, because my hair had become too moisturized, something I thought my hair couldn't do.

    I use greenhouse method every 3 days or so, overnight. I've learnt that with using this method protein balance is very important. Also that you need to give your scalp room to breathe afterwards. I agree that you have to be cautious about buildup especially that you're adding oils or creamy product to your hair with each session. Otherwise I really love this method and my hair has been retaining moisture extremely well.

    I've been doing this since October( since it got cold). Once a week on wash day, after washing/conditioning/ deep conditioning. I moisturize my hair with water/ leave in/ oil/ cream then put shower cap on and go to bed. Next day, I just wear my satin scarf. I didn't realize this was a thing until now. Thanks for the info. I only do it once a week on wash day.

      Zhana Cox you must be low porosity? I’m asking because you said rice water makes your hair dry. Most ppl hair dries from the rice because of the protein in it, & low porosity ppl are protein sensitive most of the time. I only know this cause I spent about a year treating my hair like it was low porosity come to find out I’m high porosity 🥴😂

    I do coconut oil, and Chebe herbal leave in mist and fenugreek and aryuvetic oil combo under the bag leave on a day or two then wash out with clarifying shampoo then do olaplex #3 treatment for a day under the cap then wash and style as usual. I use nexxus keraphix black rice protein treatments with olaplex & design essentials honey shampoo. No shedding whatsoever. So it’s two or three days under the cap per week. Then my protective style is a high bun and that prevents manipulation. If you can keep shedding to the minimum you can actually retain length wi you having to do protective styles because when you comb it no hair comes out. The scalp needs to be oiled and stimulated and the bonds of the hair need to be repaired and protein put back in but everyone’s hair is different so some ppl need more protein than others. I have found that protein treatments work well with olaplex.

      Doe Doe Bird hi Doe Doe Bird, (it’s so nice to have guys in my channel too 🙌🏽🤗)
      To answer you question, I personally wouldn’t recommend to have the shower cap and bonnet on all day because there is such a thing as having moisture overload and your hair can snap off.
      To further make my point, too much moisture (dampness) lying on your scalp could possibly be a place where bacteria or fungal issues are created. I would limited this practice to a could of times in a week.
      Besides, there are other ways to form a consistent amount of moisture on your hair. My latest video tackles this subject. Perhaps you could watch that and hopefully it will give you more of an idea of how to keep the moisture in.
      Keep me posted !

    • @MelsWorldMelanieThompson
      @MelsWorldMelanieThompson  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Steph, first of all thanks for sharing with us and secondly, hope is on the way, with a bit of patience and the right products you will definitely grow your hair back.
      I personally think you should stick to doing the bare minimum to your hair. For example;
      Rice water in the scalp, (not the hair) and moisturise well after. Weekly deep conditioning and if at all you wish to use any essential oils make sure they’re mixed with carrier oils. A mid week oil treatment (if hair needs it) with penetrating oils such as argan oil, avocado oil, olive oil, jojoba oil or any others, with a few drops of essential oil added in. Also, if you have ends that are split, it is a good idea to trim the ends off.
      You must stick to a routine and be aggressively consistent (and patient) and you should begin to see results 🤗
      I hope that’s helpful Steph?
      Please keep us updated on how you’re getting on 🤗🤗

    • @MelsWorldMelanieThompson
      @MelsWorldMelanieThompson  4 роки тому

      +Steph Darrigo there are so many on the market. I would definitely go towards deep conditioners that are moisturising.
      Creme Of Nature’s intense moisture conditioner (can also be used as a deep conditioner) is great and so is Camille Rose Natural’s Algae Renew Deep Conditiiner is also a great one. And of course from my own brand Amaré-Me the Deeper is amazing for deep conditioning.
      I’m sure there are many others but these are the ones my hair really loves, it might be different for you.

      Hi Vv Vhhn, I would only recommend you do these methods at most 2 times a week because although this is very good for the hair, you also don’t want to a). overload your hair with too much moisture as it could become quite mushy and b). create a place for bacteria to form on the scalp due to having a damp scalp.
      Yes this method definitely does help your curls.
      I hope that’s helpful?

      Hey Mel, what is in the oil you used?

      Hi Kinshasha, the details for that oil is in the description bar, so here it is:
      - All powders are measured with either ½ -1 tablespoon.
      - Black rice water I used 100ml according to the consistency I wanted.
      - All oils were measured by eyeballing to my consistency preference.
      POWDERS:
      Brahmi Powder.
      Aloe Vera Powder.
      Henna Powder.
      Nettle Powder.
      Fenugreek Seed Powder.
      Horsetail.
      MSM.
      OILS:
      Olive Oil.
      Rice Bran Oil.
      Apricot Oil.
      Hemp Seed Oil.
      Rosemary Oil.
      I have recently released my Hair Growth Oil to add to my natural Amaré-Me product range.
      You can also take a look at the ingredients on the website if interested:
