Nicely done....and I am a severe Lightfoot critic.. Played his stuff from the sixties and interviewed Red Shea at Massey Hall ..Sunday Concert.. Tasty and respectful arrangement.. John...Victoria BC
This is absolutely fantastic! This cover is almost as good as the Lightfoot original. Great vocal by Brian Ekard, keyboards are played to perfection by JG Jones, and Bob Woolcock ties it all together with a masterful touch! Bravo!!
I just listened to this song . August 27th, 2021, and I read my UA-cam comment from 3 years ago. My first thought was a Dream: WATCHING BRIAN EKARD AND JG JONES AND BOB WOOLCOCK PERFORM CIRCLE OF STEEL IN AN ONLINE CONCERT ON UA-cam OR FACEBOOK WATCH. I could then die a happy man. Okay, let’s compromise. Bob Woolcock could supply the keyboard/bass mixed tracks from the original recording and then Brian Ekard sings this great song Live . Online
We morn his passing this Christmas & I thought I'd play this one for my wife. & THIS video came up. My wife & sat here in disbelief that this was not Gordon singing. Thank you so much for not changing a thing & thanks for this done-perfect (& sad) Christmas song. Merry Christmas to yah Mr. Woolcock

Thanks. Brian nails it.
I’m curious about the story here; the singer had previously covered this song. I wonder who suggested the collaboration? It sounds very good!
