"Audio performance is great?" Can you please elaborate a bit? How great? Like LG V series great? Will Juan be doing one of his epic audio-focused reviews? No, I'm not a self-professed golden-eared weeny, but I can and do appreciate really decent audio performance though headphones [and increasingly good quality BT]. This gorgeous OnePlus 6 ticks almost all the boxes for me in 2018. Yeah, I've had to accept replaceable batteries like in my current V20 is almost gone for good [already gone in all the top tier phones] and this one really does come close. Only missing for me microSD and still, wireless charging would have been nice to trickle charge the device overnight. I live in Hong Kong now so availability for me is easy. Looking forward to a few more in-depth looks at this beast. :)
+King Lumpy: Just about 14 months now and my V20 is still doing great. Hong Kong dual-Sim variant [H990N] + microSD. Zero incidents of the old LG bootloop issue. I have 3 OEM battery spares + LG charge cradle so no real need to carry a big old power bank. :) Very occasionally, camera responsiveness from aggressive doze mode is laggy - can take a few secs for the camera app to catch up. And though not a real photographer, even I have been able to take great pics/vids in both auto and pro modes. Of special note is pro mode video, especially where you can adjust audio directional input to your vids - excellent for capturing above average live concert audio with your vid. Other than that, pretty much zero hiccups. Stock, unrooted device [so frickin' hard to find a reliable, bulletproof root and bootloader unlock method for my variant]. Nova Launcher Prime of course. The top second screen is incredibly useful. Super quick toggles for system functions like BT, WiFI, silent - vibrate - normal mode and even the flashlight icon. All without having to wake up the phone. I regularly [once a month] run SDMaid and CCleaner and twice a month I make sure to do a full power off reboot. Yeah, SDMaid without root is less functional, but it is what it is. Audio performance is absolutely as stellar as you have read and heard. Just awesome and no-gimmick DAC. Gaming is no issue though I don't play super heavy games. Very slight rear heat generated during heavy operations but nothing abnormal. But yes, looking kinda hard at the OnePlus6 and even the Asus 5Z when it comes out. cheers and hth!
Joe Satchton You remind me of myself, dude. I too shed a tear from time to time for removable batteries (not only can you swap in a new one, it also makes repairs and back replacements easy). My G4 has bootlooped at the last month of the 2-year warranty, sure enough the mainboard got replaced free of charge (woo) and I am running a V30-based port (this one: forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/rom-h-rom-v30-port-t3672567). With it I have manual video controls like a V phone and it's decently fast with the occasional hiccups which i'm used to. Although it is on 7.0 with patch level July 1st, 2017 (that doesn't bother me as much as it maybe should), being discontinued means I'm hoping for an Oreo-based V30/G7 port, else I might try LineageOS 15+. All in all, it's still holding its own, especially in terms of camera (which I value most), I'm not eager to spend my money on something newer. Imo the fight for more features ended in 2015, now everyone is looking to cut corners and I laugh when my 2015 phone has something a 2018 flagship doesn't.
King Lumpy Juan seems to be somewhat MIA, at least in camera reviews and audio reviews. Not sure what happened or why he doesn't do them anymore but those were probably my favorite things about this channel
jay ckb it's a good phone, no argument there. But I gotta agree with u, it did feel like the video was sponsored by OP. I wasn't sure whether I was watching a review or commercial. N this is coming from a long time Pocketnow fan.
It's interesting to see you're one of the few youtube reviewers who mentioned the call sound quality. This is the main reason why phones were created lol
how is it completely diffrent than previous oneplus the only diffrence is that it now has glass body instead of metal the glass has no functionality at all no water proof not wireless charge
Better specs, better camera, better build quality, larger screen, smaller bezels, water resistant (just not certified due to cost), faster charging. Lol you must own a 5T.....
they are all iterative upgrades and no i don't own a one plus 5t i use moto g4 plus. It is to be expected to have better specs but do you really need all that power, I can even bet you wont be able to tell the difference between the 5t and 6 camera samples side by side if not mentioned, Built quality that is subjective glass although looks premium it is far less durable than metal and in the one plus 6 it does not have any purpose apart from looking good which is subjective, and let me tell you even the 5t was unofficially water certified. they have reduced the cost by not opting for ip certification because in order to get ip certified they have to use special adhesive and protect components from water with extra protection which is costly, and lastly faster charging the dash charger is same from last year just see the specs. So don't come to conclusions on your own. It's not a completely different phone it's a phone with upgraded specs in a glass body that is it nothing else anyone using 5 or 5t will hardly tell a difference.
Abhishek Chakraborthy yes, it's not worth to upgrade from a 5T. But if you're someone with a 3T or just looking for a cheap flagship phone., this is the phone for u.
Kevin Postler better spec? An 845 sd which u cant see a different in perfomance apart from benchmark. Better build quality? If going for a glass back to metal back is better build quality? Floor says otherwise, larger screen? Notch..lol, smaller bezel? Notch. Notice if u go into a the menu and turn the notch off it basically turns into a onrplus 5t front bezels, water resitent? Read oneplus 5t review, which it also claim to be splash resistant, faster chargin? When this did happen? If it using same dashcharge technology from oneplus 5t...smh, better camera... is it a rrason to upgrade for a better camera and same phone? Please people wait for the 6t or the 7. And NO i dont own a oneplus 5t.
If anyone else is subbed to linustechtips and androidauthority, you would have noticed that they uploaded their oneplus 6 vids at nearly the same time as eachother and pocketnow
Three things it is missing, dual speakers, IP rating, and bigger battery. I would settle for a 3400 or 3600 mAh battery. However I don't think the dual speakers is a must. But I want an IP rating 100% and if possible a bigger battery. Would any of these be fixed for the Oneplus 6T?
Maybe I am just a skeptic but I don't see anything worth being excited about that isn't already done better on other phones. Maybe the price but that's about it. Even at that price, you can buy used flagships for better value that specialize in certain aspects (not to mention, having to deal with the horrendous resale value for Chinese phones and the worst security) but for people looking for bargain prices, it does seem rather attractive. Thanks for the review, it answered a lot of questions about the phone!
TalesOfGod You can't say used flagship is available at same price, then this phone used will be available at even cheaper price. That point is not valid and I am sick of hearing it
Glass is just not a good material for the back of a phone. They get wayyy too smudgy and if you drop the phone once, the back is ruined forever. It's almost worth it to have wireless charging, but the OnePlus 6 doesn't have that. They chose the worst possible material without any of the benefits and ALL of the downsides. They probably only did it because Samsung and Apple switched to it. OnePlus sucks.
Activate Halo the price has constantly gone up year after year. I know some phones are 1000 bucks but onepluss is not the budget beast it once was. The phone is almost 600 bucks with tax. SO now you're playing with the big boys and those little omissions we overlooked when the phone was dirt cheap nope not gonna fly. The OnePlus is probably a great phone but it's not the no brainier damn near impulse buy it once was.
As an iPhone user and one who upgrades each year and is currently an iPhone X user, there are always one or two Android phone releases per year that I actually envy and make me a bit jealous. The Galaxy S8 last year was the big one for me...the S9/S9 Plus this year did not even phase me. But this phone looks awesome. Unfortunately I like iOS too much and am too invested in the ecosystem to go elsewhere. If I was a windows and/or android user, I would be all over this phone.
Great review. Thanks for acknowledging what is the most crucial thing about this phone, the camera. Sounds good that OnePlus is finally delivering on that front. I've been wanting to try out a OnePlus phone for years and this looks like what can move me on from my Nexus 6P.
Great review! I will be buying this phone tomorrow at 10am along with at least a case and maybe the wired head phones as I have a Beats wireless at already.
I really do not know why everybody tells that OP6 is the first OP phone with glass back. I still have an OP X that has aluminium frame and glass back (it was made between OP2 and OP3). Gorgeous phone, one of the best looking i've ever had!
Bought it love it, the speed is crazy and it already updated to Android 9.0 official and stable!! Also i love how fast and no bullshit Oxygen OS is. The phone is good, like really good i cant recommend it enough especially considering the price of the competitors.
Oneplus with OxygenOS is one of the very few Android devices that doesn't screw up the "date modfied" file attribute when files are copied. Even other "flagships" still mess it up. Seems ridiculous that with all the bells and whistles being added these days that such a basic function still doesn't work correctly on many Android devices other than the OnePlus, Nexus and Pixel ranges.
I tried to love the 3T but the camera let me down time and time again. Having watched all the camera comparison and reviews, the 6 is turning out to be quite an upgrade...
Great review. I agree that the OnePlus 6 could be one of the best smart phones for 2018, but I think it's missing a few key features that other smart phones have and this doesn't. 1. Dual speakers - every single smart phone coming out in 2018 has them but the OnePlus 6 has just one. If the OnePlus 5 is anything to go by, then to be honest it doesn't sound that great. 2. Wireless charging - If OnePlus are going to put glass on thier device then they should have incorporated wireless charging. Otherwise it doesn't make any sence. Glass backs clearly aren't as durable as metal backs, so if anyone drops their OnePlus 6 it will most likely break vs the OnePlus 5t, which may get a bump or two but will live on to see another day. 3. Display - it's now a 6.28'' device. Now that's a big display but OnePlus are still using the same amoled panel with the same pentile matrix. This doesn't look as good and most users will definatively notice the fuzziness a little bit more. 4. Design - This is a beautiful phone but it doesn't really stand out in a crowded market. It's neither as beautiful as the Samsung or as innovative as the Apple iPhone X. And obviously what's up with the notch? It still has a chin (if you couldn't go with the curved display like Apple, why go with the notch in the first place) and in real essence it doesn't really provide any value. But one thing for sure, for the price it still is a fantastic smartphone. Will I spend my hard earned money to upgrade - perhaps not.
The one? Yes, the one that ditches the functional rigidity of metal to force you to cover its fragile glassy back, and looks forward to increase the price of the incoming T variant with wireless charging... The one that nonetheless gets credit for a water resistance that no one certified. The one that settles on following the trends with notch and rear mounted fingerprint reader, so that you can call it the one. The one that uses the secondary camera only for bokeh effect and forgets that other, better implementations exist, like telephoto or - better - wide angle. The elephant in the room is OnePlus mediocre support, which will become even worst when it will come to all the broken glass rear panels... What a OneSided review was this...
Ive watched other reviews. But i had to see the one from jaime rivera. Jaime rivera does it really quite well. One really needs to watch a jaime rivera review. Again that's jaime rivera
Hi Mr. +Pocketnow. I would like to ask You a question because I had the same problem with 5T and OP 6 :(. I started to hear on 5T a buzzing/electronic noise that comes from the earpiece. I have found that You can hear this sound through the back panel as well, especially when the WIFI is turned on. I have reached a point where they had to refund the price of the 5T. After some research (one of them being Your OP6 review), I have decided to buy OP6 over LG G7 or Mate 10 Pro. But I have found that OP6 does this buzzing/electronic sound as well. :( The best way to hear it is to be in a quiet room (at night) and have the WIFI turned on. It's not so clear at OP6 (maybe due to the glass back and smaller grill at top), but it is still annoying, especially in phone calls. :( You said the phone calls are "very crisp". Which is good, but didn't you notice this buzzing sound that was coming from the earpiece? So, I have some more questions for You: Are there other flagships or lower phones that make some kind of sound? I know there are electronics inside and they might make a noise, but when this noise is so loud that You can hear it when You speak to another person during phone calls, I think it starts to matter :( I hope I will not ruin Your experience with 5T or 6 if You do hear the sound :( What is your take on this?
Jose Soriano Dual speakers for me. I can overlook the notch for speakers. Pixel don't have headphones jack so can't buy that either. I hate Samsung software so can't buy that either.
Nathan Baldassero you can't hide the notch. You still lose the middle screen. If you have many icons on notification, you can't see those. Time have to be moved on the right. That's a downside.
Megatron no, all those notification icons and time etc are behind a black bar. So it still uses the same screen real estate more or less if there were no notch (because with current tech you can't have the camera and such in the screen itself, so it needs either a middle notch or full bezel bar)
If you are looking to get the 1+6 make sure you have a decent returns policy, last year all the reviewers missed covering a lot of the faults of the device to avoid getting blacklisted, I assume it’s no different this year. What I find strange is Jaime recently said that he disliked notched designs but now suddenly he prefers them ???
The sadness with One Plus is that the gadget like DJI Mavic Aire requires deep settings that must be turned off with DJI Osmo 2 or Oculus Go (first settings). And then go deep in your One Plus settings again when switch back to Mavic Aire. Bad that no review addresses this with third party apps and their gadget because we are many who connect these to our mobiles. Nexus 6P and Pixel works with this gadget without deep settings.
Sorry haime rivera i disagree. I feel like one plus is settling becuz the one plus 6 feels lile every other phone in the market. Apart from the cheaper price tag there doesnt seem to much extra value added by the company
you can get 8 gigs of ram, fastest phone charging on the market, best fingerprint unlock speed and face unlock speed in the market, every year best battery life compared to competitors ( will have to wait for battery drain test for oneplus 6 though ) stock android with some nice added features like gaming mode and dark mode. seems like a buy to me.
my main argument is that the phone is too similar too many of the competitors on the market. It doesnt really have any major stand out points. Its a jack of all trades but master of none. For example lets look at the devices the 1+6 is similar to. We have the lg g7 (which stands out through its bright screen and boombox features which IMO are pretty shit id rather have a 4000mah batter), p20 pro (triple lens, unqiue colour) iphone x (overpriced POS, but is thought of as a status symbol). The 1+ 1 was a phone that was different to all the other flagships, but as time went on the products just seem the same as others.
Nice. He actually understands that this isn't supposed to be compared to the most expensive phones. And it is a great an excellent phone for the price. No doubt.
OnePlus: > No R&D whatsoever > Copies other companies' famous design aspects > Known for serious security flaws > Updates only promised for one year > The phone slows down significantly as soon as it's updated > Support is pretty much non-existent or shit > But yes, $50 cheaper than Pixel 2 is an amazing achievement
One question: Somebody claimed in another video that OnePlus 6 is "5G Ready". But as far as I know, Snapdragon 845 does NOT have 5G Modem on-board. Anything on that?
I just had a chat with OnePlus Customer Support. This might help:- Chat started on 21 May 2018, 08:12 AM (GMT+0) (08:12:16)*** ANUJ AGARWAL joined the chat ***(08:12:17)ANUJ AGARWAL: Hi. To put it a different way, just to make sure Mr. Rivera doesn't think I am (or we are) coming down on his heritage in any way... Imagine a tech video journalist named William Smith, who normally sounds as though he may be from the U.S., but who - *every time* he mentiones his name - (say... 3-6 times per video) - he drops into a *full Downton Abbey* English accent. Would that not be a bit absurd?
I loved how you mentioned the connectivity of TMobile and Wifi while traveling. Can you talk about that more? So to my question... Could you do a review of the OnePlus 6 on it's connectivity? I would like to see some signal comparisons and reviews of the signal strength(dBm). In my experience being a OnePlus user and owner since the OP One, One Plus has always seemed, in my experience, to lack in signal strength. I've gone to carrier (TMobile or ATT) stores and I noticed that Samsung phones continually have better dBms and must faster data DL and UL performances than my OnePlus that has similar hardware. When I'm out and about, Samsung phones have never dropped a call, while at the time my OnePlus on the same carrier, in the same place, did. A phone is truly only as good as it's connectivity. Please do a review or tell me a reviewer that does that and I'll go bug him/her/non-conforming person.
Incredible phone. But not my phone. No IP rating No wireless charging No Dual front-facing stereo speakers But I want these features that OP6 doesn't have. Hence not my phone. But it's still an incredible phone. Edit: Notch. I don't like it too.
I think it's nice you can get 256gb. It's the only Android that offers that much so far and it would be great to see other Android phones to follow the 256gb
"There was always something missing on previous models" So what was missing on the OP 3(/T) compared to competitors? Nothing of worth. Yeah it had no wireless charging, but I prefer fast charging anyways, and it had a little less resolution, which you don't need either and lots of later phones with higher resolution downscaled to 1080p anyways. And it was cheaper compared to the competition back than, and didn't have one of these stupid glass backs that only serve to break AND make for a hard repair job if something internal needs fixing AND catch fingerprints like nothing. The things I missed was dual front speakers, a SD card slot and waterproofing, but as you mention they're still missing on today's models and lots of competitors were missing these too. And the camera, other than what you might say today, WAS competitive with other flagships. So was audio output of the 3.5mm, it was easier to fix than competitors models, had a better software experience and was very well put together. Would I have to choose a companion today I'd probably choose the Honor 10 instead. The UI is annoying, but I can always slap a custom Rom on it.
This guy lovessss his name lol!
HAAAIMAYYY RRRIVERRRAAA

Should we wait for the 6T?
yes sir!
Wait for 7t.
You should wait for 12T which comes in 2024. I heard that really is the "one" to satisfy all of your imaginary needs.
why settle for the 12T when you can wait for the 13T? surely that one will be better
Depends on what you have now. For me running a OnePlus 3, I don't have any real reason to upgrade still
The notch is not cutting down the display, it's actually adding 2 parts of display on the left and right of the notch.
Anyone else get these all at once 😂?
You can also get $20 off any accessories or gear alongside the purchase of a OnePlus 6 using the voucher www.oneplus.com/invite#51UYIH3XXHBW9U
If u mean like 400 view at once then it's probs the embargo lifting.
Aaron Glisson this felt very sponsored. Is it just me?
jay ckb I think he just likes it. They're pretty good phones. I have a OnePlus 3 and I still sing it's praises
jay ckb it's a good phone, no argument there. But I gotta agree with u, it did feel like the video was sponsored by OP. I wasn't sure whether I was watching a review or commercial. N this is coming from a long time Pocketnow fan.
More stock than the Google Pixel 2. Bravo. Love this and so agree👊🏿💯
Lover Of Tech software is so light that it fly's. Good old Nexus this is on my mind😉😃
Michał Smyk haha love this
It's interesting to see you're one of the few youtube reviewers who mentioned the call sound quality. This is the main reason why phones were created lol
5:49 Yeah this photo in particular shows how shocking the camera set up truly is. The lens flare is crazy and the dynamic range is bad.
I_THE_ME ...i feel this guy is biased in this video..guess oneplus paid a lot..
Well spotted. I'm happy with my S8
Even Pixel has slight lens flares
From the very 1st sec of the video, I can easily say it's pocket now review.
They always have this home screen set up on every phone .. lol
Much better than any other review of this phone so far!
I miss metal phones
I miss rock phones
i am so unfunny
So do I.. I loved the feeling of the cold metal, not to mention not having to wipe the phone every 2 minutes.
kurtis m what about hØt metal
I mean, I know it's not the point really, but just buy a 5t or older if you want a metal phone.
how is it completely diffrent than previous oneplus the only diffrence is that it now has glass body instead of metal the glass has no functionality at all no water proof not wireless charge

And NO i dont own a oneplus 5t.
listen u ignorant brats that glass helps in gigabyte connectivity and that 845 helps in better graphics processing not just cpu power.
6:20 does anyone notice Technical Guruji
If anyone else is subbed to linustechtips and androidauthority, you would have noticed that they uploaded their oneplus 6 vids at nearly the same time as eachother and pocketnow
net no one yeah it's weird lol
it's called "embargo". obviously oneplus barred the review before some certain time.
Nothing unusual. They stick together like albanian mafia.
lol i know right
Always happens I'm not surprised
Great video Jaime!!
this guy has great voice!
@6:20 and that's Technical Guruji with Jaime Rivera(Haima Rivera). The only person missing was Marques Brownlee
"I'm Haimme Rriverra thanks so much for watching". So satisfying to listen :)
That point is not valid and I am sick of hearing it
6:19 Heeey look most of the best tech people are in 1 picture, now there's something you don't see everyday lol
As always, great video.
JoshxDarnxIt .. I agree
So it doesn't have strong water resistance or wireless charging... Remember the price.
Does that really matter?
Activate Halo the price has constantly gone up year after year. I know some phones are 1000 bucks but onepluss is not the budget beast it once was. The phone is almost 600 bucks with tax. SO now you're playing with the big boys and those little omissions we overlooked when the phone was dirt cheap nope not gonna fly. The OnePlus is probably a great phone but it's not the no brainier damn near impulse buy it once was.
their glass back is pretty damn strong tbh. Also, glass is also used for LTE reception, like the pixel's half glass back.
What? I always use a case so if glass or not, what's the difference?
yes its Jaime Rivera the Mr Mobile of pocket now lol
I'm buying it in 4 hours! Hope I dont regret
6:19 The Avengers of Tech Reviewers
Windsrave3 then MKBHD should be Thanos😂 With a small pinch of his fingers, these guys will Fade away!!! 😂 😂
I guess im going to buy it, was waiting on reviews.
Great review! I will be buying this phone tomorrow at 10am along with at least a case and maybe the wired head phones as I have a Beats wireless at already.
Wow the want is strong. May just have to pick one up in midnight black. That camera was the make or break point for me. So happy they nailed it!
I've been watching Pocketnow for years now and Jaime's reviews have no changed one bit :)
Haha hope that’s a good thing. I feel they have, but this video in particular was tough to fit in my travel schedule
It is a good thing haha keep doing you're thing bro
I really do not know why everybody tells that OP6 is the first OP phone with glass back. I still have an OP X that has aluminium frame and glass back (it was made between OP2 and OP3). Gorgeous phone, one of the best looking i've ever had!
Camera samples are awesome...!! best review
Bought it love it, the speed is crazy and it already updated to Android 9.0 official and stable!! Also i love how fast and no bullshit Oxygen OS is. The phone is good, like really good i cant recommend it enough especially considering the price of the competitors.
Those are truly impressive pics.
I was looking at 6 but instead decided to get the essential phone and I love it the camera is now good after a ton of updates
saw the homescreen arrangement, paused the video to write this.
I am expecting Jaime Rivera's voice to start this.
Im buying this in 7 hours
Bas van Hoof And i am in 2 hours
Say hello to chinese government spying
chicago2370 Say hello to paranoia.
You can also get $20 off any accessories or gear alongside the purchase of a OnePlus 6 using the voucher www.oneplus.com/invite#51UYIH3XXHBW9U
Wait for 6t comes out in a couple of weeks lol
Oneplus with OxygenOS is one of the very few Android devices that doesn't screw up the "date modfied" file attribute when files are copied. Even other "flagships" still mess it up. Seems ridiculous that with all the bells and whistles being added these days that such a basic function still doesn't work correctly on many Android devices other than the OnePlus, Nexus and Pixel ranges.
I tried to love the 3T but the camera let me down time and time again. Having watched all the camera comparison and reviews, the 6 is turning out to be quite an upgrade...
Great review!
6:19 OMG!!! My favourite UA-camrs all together 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Excellent review! I like the features it does have at the price point I can afford. Thanks!
Great review but as always I look forward to the end of the video where he pronounces his name. That is some busting tongue twister! Love it!
I knew as soon as I seen the multiple folders on the homescreen Jaime was reviewing the OP6
That's one sexy phone. Regardless how good the phone actually is , the hardware is sexy!
Ive watched other reviews. But i had to see the one from jaime rivera. Jaime rivera does it really quite well. One really needs to watch a jaime rivera review. Again that's jaime rivera
Do you have to buy this off the website or can you go in store and buy it?
Best review. Finally a complete one !
seen a lot of reviews for this phone already but this one was the best one
Hi Mr.
Nice review
If it had no notch I would buy it
Jose Soriano Dual speakers for me. I can overlook the notch for speakers. Pixel don't have headphones jack so can't buy that either. I hate Samsung software so can't buy that either.
Never settle. For a notched phone.
Guys u can hide the notch in the settings. And since it's amoled display the blacks are inky enough to hide it quite well
Nathan Baldassero you can't hide the notch.
Apart from the cheaper price tag there doesnt seem to much extra value added by the company
footballstar0214 i think all of the reviewers have a investment in one+ thats why they all like the phone no matter what. 😂😂✌🏼✌🏼
footballstar0214 it's jaime lol
you can get 8 gigs of ram, fastest phone charging on the market, best fingerprint unlock speed and face unlock speed in the market, every year best battery life compared to competitors ( will have to wait for battery drain test for oneplus 6 though ) stock android with some nice added features like gaming mode and dark mode. seems like a buy to me.
my main argument is that the phone is too similar too many of the competitors on the market.
It is special. Something like old nexus smartphones. Software and price this is special.
Nice. He actually understands that this isn't supposed to be compared to the most expensive phones. And it is a great an excellent phone for the price. No doubt.
How is the bluetooth ? Car connectivity ?
OnePlus:
> No R&D whatsoever
> Copies other companies' famous design aspects
> Known for serious security flaws
> Updates only promised for one year
> The phone slows down significantly as soon as it's updated
> Support is pretty much non-existent or shit
> But yes, $50 cheaper than Pixel 2 is an amazing achievement
Are you guys gonna do an audio review on the OP6?
What watch was that on your hand? And the band looks awesome.
Jaime Rivera really likes the sound of his own name! :D
Love your honest reviews what are your thoughts on the colours I can't decide between the blacks
You said there's nothing missing on hardware?! What about wireless charging? Stereo speakers? Water resistance?
Whatever
Audio quality? Will you do an audio review?
One question: Somebody claimed in another video that OnePlus 6 is "5G Ready". But as far as I know, Snapdragon 845 does NOT have 5G Modem on-board. Anything on that?
I just had a chat with OnePlus Customer Support. This might help:-
Chat started on 21 May 2018, 08:12 AM (GMT+0)
(08:12:16)*** ANUJ AGARWAL joined the chat ***(08:12:17)ANUJ AGARWAL: Hi. I am planning to buy a OnePlus 6, and have a few clarifications that I'd like to have regarding the same.
(08:12:23)*** Aqeeb joined the chat ***(08:12:23)Customer Service: Thanks for contacting OnePlus Customer Support, please wait a moment while our agents attend to you.(08:12:26)Aqeeb: Thank you for reaching OnePlus Customer Support, my name is Aqeeb, I’d be more than happy to help!(08:12:32)ANUJ AGARWAL: Hi Aqeeb(08:13:18)ANUJ AGARWAL: I hope we are connected Aqeeb.
(08:13:36)Aqeeb: Sorry for the delay as I am on multiple chats.
(08:13:39)Aqeeb: Kindly give me a minute while I review your concern.
(08:13:45)ANUJ AGARWAL: Ok.
(08:14:44)Aqeeb: I really appreciate your interest towards OnePlus.
(08:14:55)ANUJ AGARWAL: Somebody claimed in a video that OnePlus 6 would be 5G ready. I'm a bit confused because as far as I know, Snapdragon 845 does NOT have a 5G modem on board.
(08:15:55)Aqeeb: Please be informed that OnePlus 6 is 4G stand by device and it is not 5G.
(08:17:17)ANUJ AGARWAL: So if DoT and TRAI manage to roll out 5G in a couple of years like they're planning to, OnePlus 6 won't be able to support those bands, right?
(08:19:03)Aqeeb: Let me inform you that OnePlus has the latest bands support with 37 bands in case if they roll it with the same bands which are already present with the device then it will be compatible.
(08:19:47)ANUJ AGARWAL: Ok. And where can I take a look at the bands supported by OnePlus?
(08:20:18)ANUJ AGARWAL: As far as I know, 5G would probably be in the range of 24GHz to 27.5GHz
(08:21:52)Aqeeb: Sure I will help you with the details.
(08:22:12)Aqeeb: LTE/LTE-A DL 4CA/256QAM, UL CA/64QAM, 4x4 MIMO Supports up to DL CAT16/ UL CAT13 (1Gbps/150 Mbps) depending on carrier support Bands FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/66 TDD LTE: Band 34/38/39/40/41 TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39 UMTS(WCDMA): Band 1/2/4/5/8/9/19 CDMA: BC0/BC1 GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
(08:23:47)ANUJ AGARWAL: Ok. I'll take a look at these. I have one last doubt: What purpose does the second camera at the rear exactly serve?
(08:25:41)Aqeeb: I would like to inform you that it is for portrait mode and used for depth effect.
(08:26:30)ANUJ AGARWAL: But they generally use TelePhoto lens for the same, right? Pardon me as my knowledge regarding this is very limited.
(08:27:23)Aqeeb: For wide angle we use main camera and for depth effect the secondary camera is used.
(08:28:27)ANUJ AGARWAL: Ok. I think I have what I need. Thank you Aqeeb for your time & support.
(08:29:40)Aqeeb: You're very much welcome. It was my pleasure helping you.
(08:29:40)*** ANUJ AGARWAL left the chat ***
If only it had front facing stereo speakers I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Well done oneplus 6 👌👍👏
If you have an edu email you're eligible for OnePlus's student discount. 5% off devices, 10% off accessories. I got the silk white edition with the upgraded memory and storage for $550, just 20 dollars more than the base variant!
Like always great video. OnePlus finally built a great camera.
Michał Smyk Finally , A good guy Got this one right.
Can we see slightly smaller phones from now on with 1080p 120hz screens? Think it would be a great smartphone trend...
Please can you throw some lights regarding multitasking experience? how many apps we use simultaneously without lag?
"And this time with a slight bump in the price tag"
Oh, you mean like they did with the Oneplus 2, and 3, and 3t, and 5, and 5t.
Incredible phone. But not my phone.
No IP rating
No wireless charging
No Dual front-facing stereo speakers
But I want these features that OP6 doesn't have. Hence not my phone. But it's still an incredible phone.
Edit: Notch. I don't like it too.
Will this phone work in europe as well with europe sims if I buy in India? Do i have to do unlocking separately? Please specify. Thanks.
Which color is the best option man?
watching on my 3T, still smooth af!
Jaime wants to battle with Starbucks coffee mugs! I see you bro. I have a “Sydney” and “Australia” one. Looks like you have a Barca one.
Just get the pixel 2xl or wait for the pixel 3 for the camera performance and timely updates 😶
NamesDontMatter1992 I would like a pixel, it's a great phone, but the lack of headphone jack is a deal breaker for me. I am getting one of these.
Steampunk Skunk actually now that I think about it you make a valid point. They should've kept it after the whole 'mocking apple' incident. :/
You forgot to mention that you can hide the notch if you want in the settings.
Awesome device I would choose it over the Google pixel 2 xl any day
Pocketnow Deserves More Subscribers, because they always make great and clear review..👍👍
And You to Jaime Rivera...👍👍👍
Thanks dude!
You Deserve This...
The notch design is the epic Fail of this phone.
I think it's nice you can get 256gb. It's the only Android that offers that much so far and it would be great to see other Android phones to follow the 256gb
Still using this phone. Still loving it. Got way better with pie.
Never Settle. ❤️ #PocketNow
Is the sound quality good enough? If it is compared to a zenfone 5's speakers, does it hold up?
ZenFone 5 has very good speakers, but quite too high IMHO. Very little base. They’re better than the OP6. Again this was only go my complaints
Pocketnow thanks!!
Umm... Did Juan Bagnell leave? I loved his dedicated camera and audio reviews of flagship smartphones :(
1:27 Please dont forget that *One Plus's main purpose was to look like Apple and Samsung phones for a cheaper price
What's the name of the game at 3:52?
Is it available in a dual sim version?
At first glance it looks like a galaxy S9+ 😍
"There was always something missing on previous models"
So what was missing on the OP 3(/T) compared to competitors?
When will it available world wide?
I'm a HTC guy but one plus 6 has caught my attention.
