@Matthew Henry Only if you ever lived with good haptics, which let's be honest, if your last phone was an android, probably the haptics were not that great.
I got my OnePlus 8 last week and I love it! I have noticed that cameras aren’t as good as on my old Huawei P20 Pro but I’m hoping that updates will change that. I have been wanting a OnePlus phone since the release of OnePlus 5 and now I finally have one. The display is just awesome! And I’m going to enjoy 5G with 865 and 90 Hz for years.
@@ZnefuDY Battery is great. Full day phone in 90 Hz mode. And updates have made cameras better so now it takes better pictures than Huawei P20 Pro. Although that 2 Mpix macro camera is still useless but that's ok.

Just ordered the OnePlus 8. The more videos I watch on it, the happier I am with my choice. The camera isn't a big deal to me since I don't take a lot of pics or videos. As long as it's readable and I don't have to strain, bent over for 10 seconds to setup the shot I'll be happy. How does it feel in the hand and is it prone to accidental touches?? Currently using an iPhone X but want to switch over. I’m worried it might be a little too big for one handed use.
Samsung DeX is keeping me with Samsung, I use it alot and it's literally the only phone today that turns into a desktop. On another level. If not for that, I'd probably go for Google or one plus.
Do these camera updates not worry people? Like just one over the air update can make your camera better, what stops them making it ever so slightly worse when the next phone comes out? Not noticeable right away, but after 5 or 10 updates, it’s worse.
Thanks for good content, and upfront . Im thinking about this phone .. but not considering the price what you think about oneplus 8 or samsung a 52 as far camera and battery being most important?
The first rule when buying a smartphone is to buy the phone as it currently is and not expect crucial features in a software update. The same holds true for 5G: when buying a 5G capable phone, one must weight what 5G currently is, instead of waiting on the future to come. So, if the main point for this phone is its 5G capabilities, then it really is a no-go. I would take last year's One Plus 7 Pro or the 7T over this 8, not to mention other brands in the same price range.
Really feeling the camera is considerably behind Pixel. As a user of OG thru 4 (non-a variants), I see lack of color, more blur in artificial light, just overall inferior. Now I ordered the Pro variant which will arrive Tuesday. As long as it's pretty close to Pixel I'll keep it.
@Joey N. Who needs more than 8gb of RAM on a cellphone? It's not like you're running a PC game at 4k 120fps and 120hz. And the 765G is comparable to the SDM 835-845 and even the 855 so you're getting 8 series performance at a lower price. Don't let labels define your opinion, man.
@MrXelium X2 Pro is a more premium buy for that price with a more premium finish, no limitation with refresh rate and a whooping 12+512GB base option (global, 12+256G option for CN)
Thank you for the review. I've had the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 6 ( and the Samsung Note 8 in between). Love these phones more so than my Note 8 but these new prices and a recent upgrade to AT&T disabled my OnePlus 6 phone from working correctly on their network. I am now looking into the new line of phones by Samsung. The A71 and the A90 in particular. These new prices on Samsung phones (at least for me) are making me forget the struggle I went through with AT&T. Definitely I'm done with OnePlus brand phones. I like them but not at that price. I now have a used Google Pixel until I get my new Samsung phone.
Camera in low light and battery life are my biggest selling points. I really want to like the OnePlus 8 but I'm finding it hard to justify getting that over the OnePlus 7T. If I didn't care so much about night pictures, I would lean more towards to Moto Edge+ because of its huge battery and "future proofness".
2 years of support max (i owned op3t followed by op6t) .. And it really comes down at the end what SUPPORT means!!! Practically support means introducing newer versions of the OS to gain features!TRYING to fix day one problems of basic functions such as bluetooth, microphone, camera etc and not succeeding even after 2 years is not called support! Releasing 5 consecutive updates within a month after releasing a "flagship" device means that you shouldn't have released it in the first place
I am a new one plus customer. Always used LG iPhone and Samsung and really liked them. But I'm really really digging this phone. The processing speed is nuts. The overall speed with day to day use is really something. Haptic engine is at this point my favorite (next to my V60 or pro max) the battery charging speed is INSANE while over all battery life is excellent but not the best ever. (not as good as my V60) screen is great and 90 HRZ is DOPPPEEEE. Basically. Buy it. You won't regret it.
Just got it through TMobile to replace the 7 pro. I miss the unhindered full screen, but after the 7 pros upgrade to Android 10, it didn't feel as snappy - and it dropped calls and failed to send texts REPEATEDLY. So far, the 8 has been a good replacement. I'm not a camera junky, so I don't mind that. It's very snappy, which to me is the most important aspect of a phone. Oh, and getting speeds of up to 300mbs over 5G is nice.
The importance of stock android is not reflected in the sale of Pixels, a premium phone from one manufacturer, but realised with the delayed updates, of only premium phones at that, from all other manufacturers.
I copped one a few days ago with the 'Back to school' sale, for $400 instead of $700. I think at this price it's a great upgrade from my 4-year oneplus 5.

Like Nicolai said,it's about performance, not the camera on a cellphone.I have a full frame camera, film cameras, and I am in the market for more cameras.I am in the market for these things because I am an ADULT,so I do not worship nor care how the phone looks,i get it or i do not, based on price/performance.Now if adults are running around trying to impress one another with how some phone looks or how pricey it is,those are adults i usually do not bother with.My teenaged son has this phone, like i do,and he also uses it for PRODUCTIVE things, like the magazine he's working on,contacts,or sometimes games.I expect that from him, being a child, yet he also plans to open up his own business,after/during college.Point being, for me,OnePlus gives me plenty of what I NEED and love, and the quality vs price is awesome...Battery life is sick, and battery charging is like some alien tech,it's so fast...audio is amazing...90HZ of NO LAG speeds..NO BLOATWARE....The OS just works with my tablets and computers,so easily, once it's set up..OH,and me and two friends got our ONePlus 8/5G phones for $350!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding/I thought it was a scam, and both of my friends left their carriers...
Currently on an OnePlus 3 (yes, not even a T version), was looking on buying a 7T on sale, waiting for it to be around 400€. Saw the 8 for 500€, just bought it ! They seem to be some sort of "equals" if not a bit better for the 8 version, just not good for the price difference at launch. Doesn't care about 5G but will gladly take the 500mAh more battery
Buy an iphone se for 400 usd. Save the extra cash in your bank, buy any other 5g iphone after 2 year not necessarily the latest one but the 5g one. 800 usd is now spent and you are done for 4-5 years.
I just got my one plus 8 from T-Mobile and loving it, I also kept my 6t I can't care less for camera quality I favor performance a lot more and to this day my 6 t works at peak performance and I value that a lot.
Thanks and yes you get a thumbs up for the review but where I part company is how you and other reviews judge the camera. It is great for most people. Pictures are amazing for probably 95 percent of the owners. Your issue, and say this in your review is you cannot use it to produce a b roll. Your need to produce the best quality videos for your channel that are high quality cannot be done with just any camera. You have a standard, with good reason since your videos look fantastic much of the time. You will always grab the best to get the job done. You probably don't have many that make that grade. All that to say, quit picking on the "children of a lesser god ". Only the Pro variant could ever be used on any of your videos and not all of them could meet your exacting standards. Thank you. Be well.

3:23 I need to know the location of that ramen storage
love the honest review. thank u Jaime.
Hey Jaime which one do you recommend me between the OP8 regular and the OP7T Pro McLaren edition ?
What launcher with Google feed are you using?
Thank you for the update. I had started to come to the same conclusions if reluctantly.
You joking, I've used the pixel 4 xl and the pics are absolutely trash in comparison
I just bought this on Amazon renewed for $300 and love it so far
LG Velvet for me...👍
That's what I'm waiting for
That's cool
It'll be exciting when you get your first android update in 2025
@Joey N. might as well wait for the OnePlus z🤷
Love your reviews bro. They are so thorough and cover everything. God bless.
Watching this makes me feel good about buying the S20. I was able to cop it for 600.
I also felt good about buying my $1160 S20 Ultra. There’s a but though, these two OnePlus phones has much much better colour choices.
feels good to buy a S20+ for $600 too.
@MrXelium Yeah.... I don't think so.
Men, how to cop S20/+ with 600$? I want it
I copped regular oneplus 7(8/256, non t, non pro) for 329$ on august 2019
So?
@@higherthangods ????
got my oneplus 8 for 400 us dollars totally worth it
Camera in low light and battery life are my biggest selling points. I really want to like the OnePlus 8 but I'm finding it hard to justify getting that over the OnePlus 7T. If I didn't care so much about night pictures, I would lean more towards to Moto Edge+ because of its huge battery and "future proofness".
Great review as always! Keep up the good work.
I don't upgrade every year, but I do upgrade every 3 months.:)
you're loaded. you can't really "upgrade" you can "sidegrade"
I would be extremely jealous if this was still 2013. But in 2020? Phones all seem to similar!
I guess you need a 619 to the face then
did you get any screen problems on the 8 or 8 pro?
I’m sorry. I didn’t catch that. Can you say your name again?
Hi-me rrrrriverrrrrrra
Translation James Rivers for you.
I really believe that reviews should be done 5 to 6 months after release because the updates make these devices immensely more enjoyable.
How does it stack up against the op 7t pro?
Price is pretty similar in my region
Hi do you have any display issue like green tint on display?
By the time one of the bugs is fixed, the support for the device has "expired". This was almost ok when they used to cost 400$..
You do realise that OnePlus updates thier phone more and quicker than any other company. Plus they have 3 years support.
Should I use IPhone 11 Pro or oneplus 8
depends on your pocket bro 😂✌️
How much eye strain did you feel while using this device?
I copped one a few days ago with the 'Back to school' sale, for $400 instead of $700. I think at this price it's a great upgrade from my 4-year oneplus 5.
i dont understand why some ppl need to complaint about camera on phone.... if u want good camera just buy actual camera.....🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
I'm torn between this and Oppo Find 2X Pro, is there really a difference in OxygenOs vs ColorOs or is ColorOs still good?
It is so ugly :(
@@akshay1715dj I decided to buy the Oppo and after having it for about 2 weeks I can say it's better than I hoped. A bit different than my previous phone, Samsung S7, but definitely a lot better and smoother
An honest review frim the point of a normal customer not a millionaire. You dnt change your phone every year so you look at build and how fluid it is
Considering I have a 200 dollar phone the camera looks amazing
!
This video made me order the S10+. Thanks
Instant regretti
How does the Oneplus 8 main camera compare to older Samsungs like my Galaxy S8?
Is it same haptic engine as oneplus8 pro? Plz answer....
OP 7 pro or OP 8?
Which is the better buy?
Still... I think I'll prefer to pay 200 more to get the Pro. I just wish the 8 Pro had that back color
PocketNow what is the name of the music used in the intro of this video
Boy , giving you another free phone really changed your mind. They make really great cameras if you look through your OnePlus tinted glasses. I never got my glasses but then again I never got 2 phones I needed to give a proper review!
"giving you another free phone?" What on earth are you talking about? Stop trying to imply anything and be direct. Sup?
I wish more phones came in colors like this, it's an awesome color
Or should eat some magic shrooms.
3 updates in less than 1 month is an indication of an incomplete phone 😂!!!
Oneplus is always incomplete phone. They use free testers in the name of beta program, rebrand OPPO phone and sell, and still they want 1000 dollars 😂😂
RIP oneplus.
yes exactly like all the pixel phones
Iphone with iOS 13 has 3 updates the first month, and 10 updates in 4 months...
@@roninr8199 rip oneplus? Updates means the company listens to consumers. One of.the best ways to portray android and their screens are almost as good.as samsungs if.not better with the pro. Im a note user but il highly xonsider the pro model here
Isn't that Literally why iPhone users say iPhones are so good ? Because of several updates coming to the phone back to back?
Does this update come on op7t ??
Good review. Will you be doing a Realme X50 Pro review ...probably the biggest competitor in this category?
Is there any display issues with one plus 8 or not
Trick to it...take a regular picture...then open that picture and expand it with your fingers and then take a screen shot. Many times this is an excellent zoom feature.
Whats your skincare system
man you are glowing
He's Jamie he's like that
😂 My shinny forehead syndrome
@@Pocketnow what do you think of a modular smartphone in 2020?
Does this phone have that green tint issue like the Pro variant?
Buy an iphone se for 400 usd. Save the extra cash in your bank, buy any other 5g iphone after 2 year not necessarily the latest one but the 5g one. 800 usd is now spent and you are done for 4-5 years.
The s10 is the best phone I've had. However after this one I doubt I stick with Samsung. If I do it will be with the budget line
Great review! When's the 8 Pro review coming?
Next week
I just got my one plus 8 from T-Mobile and loving it, I also kept my 6t I can't care less for camera quality I favor performance a lot more and to this day my 6 t works at peak performance and I value that a lot.
using op since op1, currently using op5 since its release and still in good performance... love OP phone
8t is worth the wait
Sanveer Kashyap Not for me if its price delta is anything like the OP7T
Thank you. Be well.
Enjoyed the video review!
Just a very real review that's why I love this Channel.
See you after 6 months when u feel old and op 9 comes out
Maybe 8T
Been using 5G since I switched to OnePlus 8. It's definitely a game changer. If you are living in a city where 5G covers most of it, get on board with a 5G phone immediately. It's like 90hz display. You didn't know you need it but once you get a taste of it, you can't go back.
