It remained his easiest way to calm down or relax throughout his entire life. I think the agitation sort of mesmerized him and let him clear his mind.
I can see it. I like watching the spin cycle. Watching things experience high g-force loads is fun. now that I think about it, I don't know how many "g's" the laundry experiences. Hmm...

You should try using dish soap in a wash I tried to help when I was a kid and did a load of washing with about half a bottle of fairy and turned our downstairs into a bubble slip and slide great fun but expensive

Being an appliance technician, I can tell you that eventually the detergent and fabric softener will damage the machine. 2 things will happen: 1. The pumps propeller will get damaged 2. Could possibly lead to corrosion of steel components that will lead them to break. Granted this is only if you overuse them. You only need about a tablespoon of detergent and fabric softener.
I haven't used fabric softener in nearly 30 years. White vinegar in the rinse cycle softens clothes and helps eliminate any detergent residue in what was washed. No, there is no vinegar smell on the fabrics.
Adults watching the wash machine. My husband specifically bought me a new washer with a glass top so I could watch the laundry. One of my favorite pass times.
exactly, and it also makes towels less absorbent. I never use fabric softener, it is one of the most toxic things you can use in your home, there is no need for fabric softener.
yeah they always say "don't wash kids pjs with softener" but is that because they interact badly (like giving a rash or creating toxic off-gassing) or because it makes it more flammable or is it something else all together?
i remember when i was a kid, my mom was teaching me how to use the washing machine for the first time. Once she left, I put an entire cup of laugery detergent in instead iof the 1/2 cup I was suppose to do, turned it on, and after about 10 mins it started over flowing with bubbles. The blue dye covers up the yellowing of fabrics due to body soil stains. Also most laundry detergents contain fluorescent dyes to make colors appear brighter (as they convert ultraviolet light to visible light).
"Nate, I feel like this is something I always wanted to do as a kid." -comment from the planning meeting for every episode finally makes it into the dialog for one.
Could be but most laundry detergent does have a blue dye added that is supposed to slightly dye your whites blue. It’s to counter the natural yellowing that happens to white clothes to get rid of the yellow and make them look brighter. It’s the same reason old ladies put blue in their hair (some old ladies use too much). My mom uses Wisk laundry detergent in her hair when it gets yellow streaks.
that awkward moment when the machine they choose to purchase and destroy was the same one I purchased to replace my old washer. oh how we live in different worlds
Not really. If you got thousands of dollars for the video you would probably be more than happy to destroy your machine too. But I think it’s a nice machine too. Not old lol
Story time: our dishwasher always smells absolutely putrid, so one day before starting it I thought huh, maybe if I squirt in some dish soap in addition to the pod it’ll clear up the stench. I went a little bonkers with the amount of soap. About fifteen minutes later I was still in the kitchen and I noticed it began to leak and ooze out bubbly water. Turned it off opened it up and there was a massive amount of suds, luckily we rinsed everything off and soaked up all soapy water and started it up again and it was fine. So moral of the story kids don’t put extra dish soap in the dishwasher.
Folks - really loved that episode! I’ve worked for a soap company for many years, and the products you used are very familiar to me. Couple of tips: 1) I noticed you’ve used HE (high efficiency) detergent for the video (presumably, this is what the instructions for the washer said). HE detergent has much lower levels of suds (# of bubbles/volume) than non-HE. Also, powder detergent tends to have higher suds than liquids. And finally, suds need proper water temperatures to activate. If you re-run the experiment with non-HE powder detergent (and hot water), you’ll have that machine bursting with bubbles. Should make for some great visuals. 2) most front-loader washing machines have heating elements, most top loaders do not. If you cannot hook it up to a hot water supply, get a front-loader. 3) the “waxy” feeling you get from over-dosing with fabric softener are the remnants of the surfactants built into the softener formula. The surfactants essentially coat the fibers of the fabrics and this is what makes these fabrics feel “soft”. It also makes them less absorbent. There are various ways to get rid of these surfactants (heat, oxygen, acid, acrid smoke). Love your show!

You can buy adapters that will let a faucet in your house connect to a garden hose. you can connect the other end of the garden hose to the washer and run hot water from a kitchen or bathroom sink.

Cali: I WANT TO MAKE SOUP IN A WASHING MACHINE
Putting "no one:" at the beginning doesn't make it funnier

Yum yum
@Chaotic guess that makes two of us
Try using other soaps. Dish soap, bar soap, shampoo, body wash, car wash (?). You get the idea. Have fun and thanks for a great video!
I just thought about this yesterday and know this is the first video I see when I get on UA-cam 😂
I'm obsessed with the weird vertical washing machine with the circle on the top. Never seen one in real life. Makes you wonder why different countries use different machines?
We use the ones with the opening on the front in the UK
The US has both kinds. So does South Korea. Maybe one can use less water or is just physically easier for some people? 🤷🏾♀️
Front loaders tend to be more water/soap efficient
While we have top loaders here as well (don't get one unless you absolutely have to), have you noticed, how he said that SOME washers have a water heater?
Me: Huh, that's something I always wanted to know what happens
TKOR: What's that you sayyyyyyyyy?
To get max amount of foam you need max tepratur, like 90 - 95 C (194 - 205F).
“What if using one cup you just used... one” has the same energy as “Why have a box of Cheez-ITZ when you can have a single Cheez-THEM”
2:24 "I wanna make soup in a washing machine..."
That caught me off guard 😂
Everyone: "Why?"
TKOR: "Why not?"
Yes
Funny
Hey 31 secs
but why not tho
But random
When you see them playing with a washer and I
remember how I have to wash my clothes in a bucket when I get the chance to. But I have always wanted to know this! Thank you guys for being awesome!
You guys missed an opportunity to explain the Pythagorean cup siphoning effect that occurs when you overfill the soap reservoir in the washing machine.

“I hope we have enough” person using a gallon of laundry soap - 2020
6:15 I love how they’re filming on a cracked GoPro😂
😂 😆
I know the smell of Tide and too much detergent. When I smell that strong detergent smell, I always think of the song "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5. It's the song that compliments the smell of Tide.
You should put cement mix in the washing machine. 😂
Seinfeld reference? Or have I just dated myself? Lol
i want to know if nate ends up getting a rash. 😂
I have this same washer and always wanted to do this but also don’t feel like buying a new one if it broke so thanks for this🤣
12 minute video for 1 minute of content. Love it

Anyone else wanted to see the cartoon, anime style oh f*** too much soap and now its bubbling as if its bubblecalypse style bubble overload?
I did
I feel cheated.
That's with dish soap
Hook up the water line to the detergent, and only pour a little bit of water in.
You can buy adapters that will let a faucet in your house connect to a garden hose. you can connect the other end of the garden hose to the washer and run hot water from a kitchen or bathroom sink.
