    Incredible interview. Never thought I would have counted Glenn Beck as one of my favorite episodes, but again it goes to show... We are more alike than we are different. It takes courage to be transparent and share your truth for positive change. Well done Lewis!!

    I am so thankful for the UA-cam format that allows for time to tell a story without commercial interruptions. Lewis, you are a good listener and you ask compelling questions. Thank you also for choosing interesting guests and giving us a peek into background of people we may only know through incorrect soundbites. We all must spend more time listening to really understand someone.

    "A great man or a great woman is someone who is not afraid to speak the truth to their tribe or their friends." Amen to that, Glenn Beck! Thanks Lewis for another great interview, you put to shame some so-called journalists out there! (Journalism was my major in college)

    I totally agree with with him we all have light & shadow sides inside us!!! Nobody is pure Hero & Nobody is villain!!! It's just perception we made abt others!!! It's must be so painful for him to see both his sisters in abusive relationship!!! Strong & Intelligent Man!!!

      Lewis Howes, you are so welcome. So many of us are so quick to judge and we have no idea what it is like to walk in the shoes of the ones we judge--sorry, what a mouthful. With that said, this interview with Glenn (whom I have always respected) was one of the most moving and "real" conversations I have ever encountered. His humility is so moving. Thank you again for allowing me to be a fly on your wall during this convo. Best, JG

    I was fighting with myself not to continue with this interview, however, I did. Such similar backgrounds; listening to him was like hearing what I wanted my dad to say to me.

    I've never commented on a youtube video before. I actually listened to this on itunes, and came to find the video here so I could send it to a friend. This MELTED my mind. My former perception of Glenn Beck shattered, along with other things I believed to be true, just because I've never had a reason to question them. Life is neutral as Bashar says. WE create the experience. Thank you for helping me see so clearly. THANK YOU Lewis and Glenn! Much love.

      Such is the case with people - always reduced to black and white, blurred and obfuscated...rumors and heresay taking the seat of facts, bolstered by our own self-righteous finger pointing and projections.
      The truth is (usually) more complicated

    I know this was about Glenn, but I was way more impressed with you, Lewis Howes. That might be because I already like Glenn and I know much of his story. But I'm so amazed at your ability to sit down with ANYONE, regardless of politics, and dig out the valuable lessons of their lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being willing to do that.

    This is really centering... Lewis I’m so thankful you are willing to listen to both sides of “the extremes “ of points of view on important matters- there are so few people that have this mindset but it is SO valuable to have them come to a neutral place like your show and be HEARD - this is true freedom of speech and really in our culture, very relevant journalism. Appreciate all the great insights I get from your show from everyone I have listened too!😄😄👏🏻

    One hundred years ago, when life expectancy was much lower than it is now, if you would had made a survey and asked people what they wanted the most, living without any war within their lifetime and medicines for flu would have been on top. In 2018, most of the people around the globe have both and the number of people who suffer from depression or commit suicide has increased. We are missing something...

But this was a great interview once again Lewis does it! I like the intro too where it started off mid-conversation. but yeah looks like he's been through a lot the rise and fall of both in his personal life and professional and has learned a lot for it. Boosh!

    The moderate majority of people from almost every nation have little to no knowledge of their country's own history.
    The majority of people on earth do not realise the disastrous consequences resulting ignoring the importance of historical knowledge..
    History is the only body knowledge that literally unites ALL other branches of study under one cohesive narrative.. It consolidates both art & science, music & math, philosophy & theology, the wisdom of the entire universe always in union..
    THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT Lesson throughout ALL ages, has always been ignored by the Orders of the world. So intoxicated with power that blindd them behind their pride & arrogance..
    The world is on a collision course with destruction that has been a cyclical constant marked always death of a civilization.
    Surely we are doomed again, right? That too, because of the EXACT SAME MISTAKES that we have never failed to repeat.
    We have never seen a world that is in such disarray, that too, a world that isn't at war with each other, yet.. I reckon that if it doesnt turn for the better, the very serious threat of a form of war will eventually creep up on us..
    lnevitably the Greed is insatible and Power is addictive.. Time and time again, people find ourselves in this same dilemma.
    Do they run or stay and push back.? Time will decide.. In any case, the right decision must be made soon.
    HISTORY Repeats Itself, Always
    And we never ever learn.. I hope one day we do..

    I'm curious with his "I am" mentality and him being a previous alcoholic what he thinks of AA meetings. In the beginning of each meeting they say "I am so and so and I'm an alcoholic". I've always thought it to be counterproductive.

    • @buttbrowser
      @buttbrowser 6 років тому

      My hunch is that his first response would be something like "Oh Hell, my alcoholism? I swear to you darlin that there is nothin simply or merely previous about it at all, at all...it's still very much current. It will always be with me, it's always in me. The only difference within this here & (now) is that plenty of years ago I put the plug in the jug & by God's grace I haven't any shattering desire to drink alcohol anymore ever!!!" Like I said, just a hunch. & probably not the answers you were seeking.
      But beyond this hunch I'd say as well that honestly to me that fellow is still quite the egotist, in spite of this interview. It's just a lot of who he is & how he expresses himself he can't help it I almost pity him it's pretty goddamn gross really...but I mean hell I've got plenty of goddamn gross within me too & about myself I've constantly glared at & done my damndest to tamp those memories down hoping no one ever witnessed them regardless of how exposed I've been! In some real ways thankfully I have truly gotten past some of those real ugly issues like tardiness, also basically being a selfish spoiled whore with dangerous women & for years mostly unemployable. Sorta sucks being just a damn dumb human sometimes, to ponder my own sinful grotesque. Truly I drank mainly to get sickly drunk so that I could constantly shun all my responsibilities......but even still once I got sober & even when going through them steps I constantly all the while fled from so many obligations to my fellows as well as to myself. It's taken this sense of desperation again & again for me to shed off this coward of a shitbag I had once become. As far as them meetings, yeah they became a real drag for me too after awhile. Entirely I stopped goin a long while back, though still real thankful I got seriously sober as all get out & have no desire to go back to it. By being given such significant grace I swear I haven't had that need since March.24th, 2002. On a side note, yeah I guess I just broke my own anonymity as once being a member of that organization oh well. & yes I still do get quite thirsty from time to time but I'm able to shrug it off fairly easily once considered of my past brutal battles. Strangely alcohol & drugs in some circles gets a bad rap & they shouldn't cause they're real necessary for most & most don't have the problems that people like me have & for me for long enough booze worked but it all just stopped workin badly it just all came a-crashin down for far too long. For me today the ways in which I reach out now is more simply just as a very passionate worker. A mere pipe fitting to help hold the structures together. I honestly found that absolute desperation & humility in the face of my alcoholism was absolute key to unlocking myself within the true sense of sobriety & recovery. It really becomes about being of service. If you are (now) as hopeless as I was, as one survivor to another I'd suggest you utilize all the help that's out there in the face of your own...so that in turn you will reach out to others in dire need of your own help/of your own experiences shared/of your own encouragement/ & even dare I say it your own wisdom. You've got it within you Whatever works really, find it within yourself (again, 'the desperation') to use these tools as your life absolutely depends upon them. Cause this thing called alcoholism is an absolute killer for sure. I hope this made some sort of sense I hope that somethin here truly resonates with you or maybe someone else who reads it cause I truly mean it sincerely I do regardless I know it's one long diatribe. Good luck anyway, I wish you well.

    • @buttbrowser
      @buttbrowser 6 років тому

      & oh yeah just one more thing just to clear up any confusion...when I said about getting thirsty from time to time I still do 'but I can shrug it off' ??? I meant that I've been able to stay absolutely clean & sober since March.24th, 2002. I'm not a moderator, don't have that luxury. Thanks.

    I think there's more suicides because there's a universal expectation for everybody to be on top. At the end of the day, I don't think it's the number of views or money that matters. It's the perspective we have out of any experiences that shape who we are that means more.

We all have many sides. We all deserve to be heard. The world is not black and while. If you believe that he is all bad and incapable of changing and growing then you must believe that of yourself. Give him a chance.
    I watched the entire thing. And am very sorry to say that while I believe the he has had a difficult past and is clearly emotional about his family issues, everything else out of his mouth came across as an act and insincere.
