That fighting conch could not get any cuter! I have never felt the need to snuggle a creature that lives in a shell until now! 😂 beautiful walk on the beach today! Thank you for taking us along!
I love our Sunday night beach adventures ! It is the best way to end the weekend and that fighting conch was so cute ! Thank you for such a lovely time ! 🏝️🐚❤️
I am constantly fascinated by the endless variations in color, shape and patterns of the fighting conchs! I don’t think any other shell is so wildly versatile!
I'm a born and raised Floridian, my parents had a house on Indian Rocks beach and a house on LK Panasoffkee. Summers on the beach and winters on the lake. I had an amazing childhood. I have collected millions of shells but made up the names. Thanks for the names of the shells!
Hi, I have to tell you that I love your channel. I have been sick with a head cold and still have it. I was home and watched your videos. I went back and I think I have seen them all. Its been cold here. It was so nice to go to the beach with you. I have watched other sell hunters and I like yours the best. You get so excited with what you find and teach what the names of the shells are. I appreciate the work you put into your video. Thanks.
Hello Ms. Sharmon! Thank you so much for sharing your shelling with us. I'm landlocked in Central Texas and go to the beach for the week after Christmas each year to Port Aransas Texas on Mustang Island. I have been following you for a good part of this past year and have learned a whole lot about the shells I find and the best time to shell with the low tides. I thoroughly enjoy the "Beach Time" that you give us in each video. I feel like I get to the beach every week. So, thank you for the education and the relaxation!!!!! I can also say that this year I "saved" several clams and moon snails by putting them back in the water from the high tide line thanks to your sharing. So, that makes you also a life saver! Ha I was actually pinched by one of the clams, but I did put him back in the water anyway. Thank you for the auction! I'm a retired teacher and I love where the proceeds will be going. Thank you soooo much again!
I get so excited about vacation every time I watch you. Keewaydin will be the first island I go to. Love the fighting conchs, tulips, and spiney jewel box
It’s so good to hear your voice and see your busy, wrinkled fingers! What a beautiful haul! That knob-less fighting conch almost looks like it’s between being a juvenile and an adult, in size, but I know it can’t just spout knobs as it gets bigger. The rose murex and the jingle were my favorites, along with that midnight fighting conch. The face on the live conch melted my heart. So cute! Thank you SO much!! ❤️🐚
What a wonderful day! Never thought I’d say a shell critter was cute but that fighting conch was cute with his little eyes.. and the dolphins always amaze me.. beautiful treasures! What a fantastic day ❤
Hello Beach Angel! It's so good to open UA-cam and see the notification from you! Hearing your opening music gave my mended heart a thrill! Haha! Seeing the water wrinkles on your hand made me think that happiness is when you have water-wrinkled fingers and there's not a bathtub in sight! That calico scallop looks like a sunset with little pelicans flying by! How lovely! I hope I can find one like that when we go home on our fifth wedding anniversary in October. We're planning on going to Pensacola, as I've got family there. It's going to be so wonderful to sit at the Gulf's doorstep again! I'm so glad you're having a great Fighting Conch day! You deserve it! I'm happy to see you out on the island again. When you're picking up shells, it easy to put from your mind what waits on the land. I'm still keeping that area in my prayers and looking forward to the day, maybe years from now, when the name of Ian doesn't bring pain. I was sad and glad that the last person was recovered this week. It gives their family closure, even as it breaks their hearts. It is true, the old saying about the sea being a jealous mistress. Stay healthy, dear Angel, and I hope you find lots of shells! Thanks again for holding me close in your thoughts as I walked through death's dark valley. Because of friends like you, I am fully recovered and feeling better than I have for a long time. Much love, The Lost Mermaid
I missed that they just found the last victim. Was it in Fort Meyers? Such disastrous results from Ian's visit, to say the least! I have watched and prayed all along too! ( :
I'm so glad you're feeling better! I hope you have a fantastic time planning your October vacation. I love having fun things to look forward to. Yes, sadly Fort Myers Beach found another victim but as you said - it should bring her family closure. I'm glad the auction is going so well. I am so blessed to be able to help my community! ❤️ I hope you continue to feel better and better!
Wow. You find again a lot of wonderful shells. They are all great looking. I can't wait to relocate to go with my ..guys on the beach, also for looking for shells. This colours are all so amazing. 💖🍀🙏
Little by little the damages will be cleaned up and the beaches will blossom into new beautiful scenery once again. Just dreaming about the briny breezes, the warm sun, white sparkly sand and the scent of the beach makes me close my eyes and take a deep relaxing breath. Thank you again for taking us all along with you. We...the land locked (Lol) thank you. 😉
@@SWFBeachLifeit absolutely did! And I’m trying to plan a new Florida trip. Shelling of course. But I want to find a quiet spot that won’t be too crowded. Sanibel isn’t ready. I thought Marco Island but it seems so hotel packed. Not what I want. Although I could catch a shelling tour or two.
I'm so happy I found this video! I've missed your show! I know you've been very busy helping with the clean up and the auction to raise money for the clean up but it was really great to go with you on another adventure. 🥰🥰🥰
Great video! Just returned from 2 weeks at Marco Island. Took our first trip to Keewaydin and the shelling was fantastic. There were alphabet cones everywhere! Thanks for the tips to get to Keewaydin. We took the Hemingway shuttle and they were great.
OMG!!! I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ your videos! You're so full of knowledge and information! You should seriously think about doing private tours. I would be your first customer 🥰 Thank you for taking us along with you. I started collecting shells at a very young age when just my father and I would walk the beach for shells. I ALWAYS lived near the ocean and wouldn't trade it for the world. When I travel the world, I ALWAYS collect shells. One of my favorite hobbies! Please keep me posted if you decide to tours! 😍 Stay safe! 🩵💙🩵
I was on Marco this week and the shelling was phenomenal! The Snook Inn is rebuilding, one of my favorite eateries on Marco. We did try to give business to as many places between Marco and Ft. Myers airport as possible. The local news was saying business was down by 60% even off the beach due to lack of tourism, so we are already trying to plan our next trip.
Thank you so much Denise! These business are hurting so badly. It's going to be amazing in a few years, but before then they need so much. Thank you for choosing to spend your time and money here! ❤️
Pretty cool shell finds. It has been a while seeing these shells for me and so it is good to refresh my memory on the names of these shells again. Love the weird looking Florida fighting conch. What a good day you had there and great haul of shells.
Thanks for the great video of Keewaydin! My friend and I were there last Friday and she found a bunch of wentletraps on the non gulf side a bit down from where the boats drop off. Thought I would let you know for the next time you visit. Great video as always 😃
Greetings Sharon! At 11:20 that's a beautiful handfull of shells - conch, buttercup lucine, juvenile fighting conch and prickly cockles! I'm glad you can see changes for the better! Looking forward to seeing Ft Myers beach. As always, I appreciate you sharing your beach walks with us. Best regards, c
That thick Lucien at 10 min was a really nice one!😊 Might be good to mention that feathers have to stay at the beach. Unfortunately, it's illegal in FL to collect them... Very pretty rough scallop! I can't believe you found ANOTHER rose murex!!! Looks like a good wrack line was there - always fun. Lol There was a huge fiberglass gas tank on Honeymoon this morning with all the wind this week. Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo
I actually didn't know that it was illegal to collect bird feathers! At least I have the "proof" that I innocently found it 😃 It's been nice to shell and not freeze my tail off but I am looking forward to maybe catching a cold morning post-storm day!
I missed you! Awesome walk! I just got back from Pensacola today, I found a few treasures but 3 out of the 4 days bad weather. Still awesome to be at the beach. Have a great week. See you Sunday! XOXO
Thanks for returning all those live mollusks to the water. It must have been cold if that one Florida Fighting Conch was any indication. Whenever we're at the beach and see out-of-towners picking up live shells we ask them to put them back. If they act like they want to keep them, usually the kids, we let the parents know how bad they will smell. 😊Works almost every time.
Wrinkled fingers are a sign of a great shelling day! Plus it means the weather is nice enough for me to be in the water and not stuck on the sand because it's cold!
Hi Sharmon! So good to see you beach timing again. Those are some sweet florida conchs. Love the colors. I am booked at Marco Island in September and can't wait. Keewaydin is definitely on my shelling tour list. If the tides play in my favor, may find my way around to your secret not so secret place at Marco. Can't wait to see you go back to Sanibel next week. I miss it so! Have a great week!
I think the Florida fighting conch are overall the shell I see you pick up, lettered olives are cool too, oh and ...... I just luv enough all lol, thanks for the video!
What a great selection of shells!! Love all the pinky/peachy coloured shells and the Florida fighting conchs with no points were so smooth and looked like caramel. BUT 😏 my most favourite part was seeing the dolphins!! Love dolphins!! I thoroughly enjoyed our walk on the beach!! Have a great week Sharmon!!😍🥰💗🐬🐬
Thank you so much Pam! I had the most amazing dolphin encounters on a previous trip to Keewaydin. Dolphins and shells and islands - what is not to like right?

We absolutely love your videos and look forward to them every week. But I think I hear your fire alarm low battery going off! Hope you change that chickey! Hope the auction is going amazingly well!!!
I am so upset! I don't even hear the stupid noise and it's all over the video - WHAH!! Oh well. I'll just think positive about how well the auction did!
Wow that dark fighting conch ❤.. my husband and I are planning another trip to the fort Myers area and rewatched this video to see if Naples area any better. Guess it’s hard to tell considering you was on keewaydin in Dec .. we went to Sanibel and ft myers before Ian. We will be visiting for a weekend in August suggestions of keewaydin/naples/marco island vs ft myers ?? We are undecided and know summer shelling is less finds vs winter. But our bdays are both summer bdays and how we are choosing to celebrate, we both love the beach and shelling
Believe me, if there were just one good spot I'd be there all the time! The winds and tides keep the shells moving so I move around a lot too. All of the beaches you suggested are good ones!
I went to check my Smoke Alarm wondering why it was chirping...it was yours!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the safety check!!! I hope to run into you on the beach someday!!
Thank you, Sharmon, for another wonderful shelling adventure. Some day when I get to visit SW Florida for a shelling trip, I think I want to visit Keeywadin Island for sure. Every video I've watched when you have visited there, it seems like you find the best shells. I too love conchs and would dearly love to find some. Seems like a wonderful place. Would you concur?
Yes, I would concur that Keewaydin is super fun. I've only been there once where the shelling was "slow" - but the island is so beautiful that I don't mind. I just enjoy being surrounded by such beauty and if I can find a souvenir or two even better!
Great shelling again today! It's good to see you out doing what you love . . . finding beach treasurers. You need some waterproof gloves - I worry about your wrinkled fingers! lol
Love your videos. Hurricane Ian put a damper on my wife's and my plans for our annual visit to Sanibel. So, we were fortunate to find a place in Naples which, much to my delight. put us in close proximity to Captain Carlos and a dream shell tour for me. We will be taking that tour soon and this old man is as excited as a child and can't wait to go. Your videos have made it so much more to look forward to. One question, what's an appropriate gratuity for the captain?
Awe - I love this! Carlos if very kind and he will do his best to make sure you have a good time. I like to tip at least 20%. I hope you have an amazing time!
@@SWFBeachLife A quick update. My wife and I did the tour on Feb. 8. Carlos and Ali were magnificent in hosting the tour. What a fabulous time we had. We were a bit miffed when we got a text the day before telling us to be at the parking lot at 6:00 am. We were 20 miles away, but up early we were and in the lot at 6:00. Carlos had us on the water at 6:15 am just as the day was breaking. I know now why we were to be there so early--we were the first ones out and had the first island (I think it was Dickman's judging by how close we were to Marco Island) and we had the whole place to ourselves. The shelling was absolutely phenomenal--more so than we could have ever imagined. Next stop Kice--not quite as good, but still many, many shells. So now, when I watch you on your weekly videos I can finally say "I did that!" Thanks so much for sparking the interest. Even though we have never met, when I watch your shelling videos, it seems as though I am with a good friend.
@@thomasseesan8216 I LOVE THIS! I'm so glad you were able to experience this and you had such great shell luck. It can be hit or miss but Ali and Carlos do their best to make sure you get the goods! Thank you for sharing!!
My wife and I just love you videos and we can’t wait to get the FL next year to do some shelling,we dont have much here on the Oregon Coast. I do have to ask you though, did you by chance have a smoke detector beeping in the background when narrating this video? I kept hearing a beep and it had me searching our whole house down for the detector that was beeping. 😅😅 I watched your video again and can definitely hear it in the background
I am patiently awaiting the day when I finally get to visit Florida. Absolutely beautiful. I was wondering if you ever trade shells with people that may have something you don't have or never have heard of?
I have done shell trades but my shell collection is kind of getting out of control - LOL! I do sell shells if you'd like to purchase some though: www.swfbeachlife.com/store
I love where you live too. I found some amazing wavy top turbins here in Southern California and I would like to send you a couple. Where should I mail them?
Really enjoy your shelling ventures... how did you get to Keewaydin Island to where you actually get to the Gulfside? And how did all those island homes do with Ian? In looking at Google Earth, it appears that there are some homes that really had a lot of exposure to high surf. I live in Sarasota and am dying to get down there to do some shelling and kayaking.
I hitched a ride with some friends but you can book a very reasonable trip with Hemingway Shuttles: www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com I'm not sure how the homes made out but I have to assume they all sustained some damage between the wind and the high surf.
Thanks for taking us to the island! Did you ride on a tour boat? Do they leave you on the island for a specific amount of time? Beautiful day, beautiful water, beautiful shells. Thank you, as always!! (I looked for the link about spiny jewel boxes but didn’t see it - probably my fault, but can you give me a hint for which one it is?)
I hitched a ride with some friends on this day, but you can take the Keewaydin Shuttle to get to the island: www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com Did I say I would leave a link about spiney jewel boxes? Shoot - please remind me so I can get you the info!
@@ztag1p Shoot! I was on Kice and I found a live one with super long spikes and now I can't find the link. I've made a note to try to find it and add the link to the description of that video. I'm so sorry about that!
@@SWFBeachLife Not a problem at all. Please don’t go out of your way; I am sure you are pretty busy in general as well as putting together beautiful content for us to enjoy. We look forward to being in FM soon as we had actually booked a Feb airbnb stay back in August. The home was not damaged, so we’re still good to go. Would love any post-Ian beach recommendations.
Hey I was wondering if you could help me . We are coming to Marco this summer because fmb needs it time to recover. I don’t know much about the beaches in Marco and was wondering if you could message me some of the places you go and parking . We plan on using the shell tour company you normally use . I’ve watched your UA-cam channel for 3 years now and it really helped us find spots to visit in fmb
Marco is in good shape but the other beaches with the good shells are closed right now, or at least I just can't recommend that you go visit with all the parking issues. As much as I love FMB and Sanibel, they aren't ready for visitors yet. I would say Tigertail is one of the only options down there other than a tour right now.
Hey there! We emailed earlier a few months back and my girlfriends and I here in North Naples/Bonita Springs. We’d like to head to the beach tomorrow for shells. We’re limited with our time. What would be a good beach to head to, that is if it isn’t closed. Bonita Beach was closed. How’s Vanderbilt Beach, Via Miramar or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

I think the Florida fighting conch are overall the shell I see you pick up, lettered olives are cool too, oh and ...... I just luv enough all lol, thanks for the video!
Thanks Sharmon, wonderful shelling trip!
I love Sunday Beach time! We will be down there in February, I can't wait!!!
@@SWFBeachLife Exactly!!😍😍
I truly enjoy all your videos
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Ohh my gosh, what a cute fighting conch critter!
I love the luceines! The buttercups are just beautiful. I like the rose talens too.

Wow that dark fighting conch is gorg!!! Never seen one that dark 😍
Thank you for the video! I enjoy watching you! You have taught me a lot!
Thank you for another wonderful Sunday shelling tour. Now I will go to sleep and dream of all the shells 🐚 ❤
That's what I do, too!

❤️
Well that’s not a bad way to spend some time! Beach looked lovely as did the dolphins, how do you resist getting into the water with them! Stat safe x
Loved to see you on tonight. I think you might need to change your smoke detector battery. Lol Thanks for shelling.
UGH - I'm so sorry! Yes, that detector is mine!
@@SWFBeachLife No need to apologize..
HAHAHAHA!!! It just reminded me of mine!!! 😂

I am so lucky to live here! There was a nice variety of treasures that day!
I had to keep pausing the video cause I kept thinking I heard my smoke alarm beeping. Was it yours? 😊 Terrific video as always! ❤️
I am so sorry and yes it's mine!! I am going to fix it today!
@@SWFBeachLife It's all good. Love your channel! Beeping or not! 🤣
@@SWFBeachLife Lol. No worries! Glad to hear the auction went so well!!!
What a lovely day for the beach. Very pretty seashells. Have a great week. ❤
Thank you! You too!
Beautiful shells, as always !
Thank you for the beach time!
Thanks for the safety check!!!
I hope to run into you on the beach someday!!
Just another service I like to provide 🤣🤣🤣
Loving your videos xxx Julia from Scotland 🏴 xxx
Thank you so much Julia from Scotland!! ❤️❤️❤️
Was just at keewaydin last Friday! Love that place. Now back to the frozen tundra of minnesota :)
Stay warm beach friend!
The FFC's have been gorgeous in color and pattern since the Hurricane. I keep saying I am not picking FFC up...I have 5 million. But...I always do!!!
Same! I try to not even pick them up because I end up keeping them! 😂
What a lovely beach day with you my sweet beachy friend. I truly needed this today. Thank you as always 🧜🏼♀️
You are so welcome! ❤️❤️
Nice day at the beach 🏖
Oh I just loved seeing the dolphins!
I could hear your smoke alarm chirping in the background. I thought it was mine at first.😂
I'm so sorry!
Love the way you enjoy where you live!
So funny I had to stop your video to make sure it wasn't my fire alarm chirping, it was yours... lol😅
I feel awful! You aren't the only one that my video did that too. I'm so sorry!!
@@SWFBeachLife It's all good, I just thought it was funny...😁
Great shelling again today! It's good to see you out doing what you love . . . finding beach treasurers. You need some waterproof gloves - I worry about your wrinkled fingers! lol
Oh my fingers unwrinkle in time. I am lucky I don't need gloves to protect me from anything that might sting me!
Well that was very nice! a good assortment of goodies😊
Yes it was!
Sure do wish I could've stopped by on the way back to Oklahoma. However, my ride broke down and ended up flying out
Thank you for panning slowly !
!!!
LOL! I try to remember!
Not sure the banded tulips "love" being snacked on by the trues!🤣
Love this one too.
I do! I am so sorry! I am glad you checked all your detectors because one of mine definitely needed a battery! Again so sorry!
@@SWFBeachLife haha no problem…….just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy 😜
It’s so cute you love looking for shells so long your fingers are wrinkly. Lol. Thank you for sharing
I found out tonight I’m getting to go to Tahiti. I hope maybe I’ll find a pretty shell to bring home. It’s September. 🏝
WOW!! It just sounds so exotic. I hope there at least a few treasures there for you to find!
@@SWFBeachLife I’ll come home with something, even if I have to purchase it. LOL
good location to take a "shellfie"!! 😂🤣
LOLOLOL! I see what you did there! 🤣
I love where you live too. I found some amazing wavy top turbins here in Southern California and I would like to send you a couple. Where should I mail them?
Can you shoot me an email at swfbeachlife@gmail.com?
Headed your way on March 2nd!
Your video is amazing
Thank you so much 😀
@@SWFBeachLife your welcome.
Got to the end of the video and see that you're on a boat. Guess that's the way to do it! 😀
I hitched a ride with some friends but you can book a very reasonable trip with Hemingway Shuttles: www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com
I'm not sure how the homes made out but I have to assume they all sustained some damage between the wind and the high surf.
Beautiful...what do you do with all of your shell treasures?
I keep some, I make stuff with some and I sell some. I am just finishing up a video that will show you!
I hitched a ride with some friends on this day, but you can take the Keewaydin Shuttle to get to the island: www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com
Did I say I would leave a link about spiney jewel boxes? Shoot - please remind me so I can get you the info!
At 19:57 you show a hinged spiny jewel box and reference a video of a live one. ☺️
You’re shells are the best 😊~ Evelyn
Thank you Evelyn! 😃
Something about Florida cones… I really like them.
Me too. Especially if the colors are nice and bright.
Thank you!
Dang I am sorry I didn't see this earlier! I am recommending Tigetail beach down in Marco or a shell tour. I hope you ended up finding a good beach!
