"the scallops were bringing it today!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
kice! I have so many beaches on my "need to visit" list 😂 so beautiful
Awesome as always. Really needed this walk...last week we here in Wisconsin got 16 inches of snow! Funny how it changes so quickly though...it warmed up nicely and the snow is pretty much gone now. Plus we will be in the upper 60's and up to 80 in just a few days! Yay!
Always appreciate your walks. Thx for bringing this Wisco gal along. Marco visit next month!!!
May the shelling be in your favor!
I think my favorites are the colorful calico scallops. You just never know what colors or patterns will be on it. Beautiful shell finds. Can't wait to watch the continuation video. Thank you. 🐚
Treasure Hunters Beach Tours had a video out on identifying shell egg cases and how to tell if they are alive. I meant to send it to you but forgot. Thanks Sharmon, I always love Kice Island. Have an awesome week!
Thanks for thinking of me! I'm so busy I rely on kind people like you sharing resources with me! 🥰
You ever shell from the north end?? BiG Cones! Junonias! So many good shells on the north end too.
Be still, my fainting❤ heart ! No emojis of Junonias ?! WAAAH !
Yes, we were dropped off at the North end 😃
Always a wonderful day to go to the beach with YOU...and Kice, the lovely Kice. Breathtaking, all the gorgeous shells. Thank you so much for these lovely videos !!!!
I'm interested in all the coral pieces. I probably wouldn't keep them all but I like to see all the different shapes.
I love every time you take us to the beach!! Thank you!!!❤
Glad you enjoy it!
me too!! 🙂Thank you SWF Beach Life!
It makes me LOL when you show your mark in the sand … again LOL … you really don’t want to miss anything. I really love your videos, I always learn something with each video.
I love it you take me shell hunting on Kice! There is always such an amazing assortment of shells! Thank you for the vicarious adventure! (Love the tinies!)
Those weird little murexes astound me !. The little twisty lightening whelk looked like a large whelk that got zapped💥 & shrank up !.
Question for you. On shell tours what’s the etiquette for who gets first dibs so to speak? Can an eager beaver sheller just power walk ahead of everybody, grabbing all the cones, leaving you in their dust?😂
Let's just say, the early sheller gets the shell. If you happen to be with some other very eager people, yes - the first person to get the shells gets the good ones! You can either try to be very quick and grab the good stuff, but you might miss a thing or two but the "tone" of the shell tour will be set by the others on the tour. If everyone is kind - it's fabulous! Since I live here I don't try to beat other people to the shells 😃
Hi Sharmon! Love me some Kice! I could spend every day there. I am so jealous. All those colorful moon snails. I LOVE them!! And those lace murex, so awesome. Kice never disappoints! Can't wait to be there! I'm sure I will watch this vid over and over and pause and hunt more shells. So fun! Thanks for taking us along. Hope you had a great Easter holiday!! Hugs💞
Kice never, ever disappoints! Just don't tell me all the shells I missed when you go back and look 🤣
Thank you for another awesome beach walk and that last pink scallop with the white stripes was beautiful thank you
Ok, so after this awesome video I've decided that when I finally make it across the state for a shelling excursion I have to make it out to Kice Island! What a beautiful place❤
Great shells! Today I think my favorite, was the beautifully spotted Jasper cone! Just gorgeous!
Just what I needed today! Stress relief in its purest form! thank you so much for all you show us and the wonderful "beach time" segment! Can't get enough!
Thanks as always from Toronto. I love all the little shells. The pink tip on the lace murex was soo beautiful! Since you mentioned the pen shells - I gave a presentation this week at a senior's apartment complex about my Florida shells. Showed some of the differences between west and east coast. Told several stories, including the $25 pen shells for sale at the Bancroft Gemboree! Also showed my shell flowers, pendants, earrings, wreaths, mosaics and sculptures. I gave a talk and handout about mollusks, comparing gastropod bodies to humans, trying to help people appreciate them more. They are important ecosystem engineers. If you like I'd be happy to send some pictures. Thanks again for your wonderful videos. Janet
Wow, I wish I had been a fly on the wall there ! That is wonderful of you to do that for others !. I too, have done some of that for VBS. I compare the mollusk bodies to our tongues, cuticles, many similarities !. Kids ask me amazing questions. Alot of people in the Midwest know almost nothing. Except they all have heard you can hear the ocean in a shell. I sometimes face paint shells, dolphins etc for them for free, too. One time, We put a plastic sandbox of sand and shells for them to search through. Thankyou for sharing this ❤💕💖💓 Blessings
Wish I could have seen your presentation! I'd love to see anything you'd like to share! swfbeachlife@gmail.com. Thank you Janet!
Love this! ❤️
I look forward to your videos every week. I could watch you for hours. Thank you for being such a great teacher and for your great sense of humour.
Happy Resurrection Sunday! I love Kice!!! ❤ Oh man! I was sooo screaming!!! Luckily you picked up most of them!!! 😊
💒✝️💓 I found a copy of the Legend of the Sand Dollar. I had jotted a copy off by hand. I don't have a 5 holed sand dollar, which is what it refers to. It has holes for His hands and feet, the Easter lilly, the gash in his side, doves of Peace etc. I think the poem was sold with a sand dollar and they broke it at the end to see the doves within. Blessings !.
That one scallop with the white V on it was amazing!! You had so many piles to pick from that it was incredible!!
All those big shells out there had to start off as tinies, so it’s so cool to see just how tiny they were.
Thank you for another great beach walk and I really look forward to next week to see you find more incredible shells. Have a super great week!!☺️🐬
When you said ... "are you all screaming at your screens?" ... I was!!! LOL ... at 21:05 on video at about 10 o'clock ... that dark juvie FC !!!!! Oh my 🙂
🙆👐👋 (jumps up n' down to get your attention) ... Hi Sharmon 'could' it ever be possible to create a purely quiet 'beach break/gratitude break' compilation of varied stunning beach/water/waves? Even a series possibly like 5 to 10 minutes of sunrises or rack lines, cool old trees etc. Just a thought because many of us crave such within your compilations. Thank you.
I had put some of those clips to the side and then got side tracked. I have about 3-4 different projects going on at any time but I do love this idea. I'll move it back to the top of the list 😃
@@SWFBeachLife Ohhhh fabulous. Also could be a good sort of back up video if ever you miss a week. Keep shellin'
happy Easter
Ok ..ill take 2 of everything..❤ them.. wounderful finds.
Man, I need to take a trip to Kice island! I want to find a lace murex. I love all the shells you picked up. I love the hinged spiny jewel boxes. I love lightning whelks and calico scallops.
Beautiful calico scallops especially the purple ones. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you !
I new to shelling and just got back from Navarre. I’ve learned so much from you!
Wow such beautiful treasures..
Love all the teaching you do with the shells ❤thank you
Love your videos like tagging along with you. Relaxing. Thank you!
I love them all! Scallops! I can't wait until next Sunday. Have a great week!
25:00 do you wonder what I would pick up? That buttercup blue seen that you just left behind. One of my favorites for sure.
Love Kice Island. Marco shelling tours are the best shelling spots.
Wonderful content 😊😊😊 having beach envy in a good way!!!
You missed that bright orange thing😊 thank you for your videos you're awesome!
Can’t wait for next week! I’m always waiting for Sunday now! Thank you so much for the beach time! ❤
Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Wonderful shells with beautiful colors 🥰🇬🇷
Wow that lightning welk cleaned up so nicely ! Thanks again for a beautiful day at the beach ! Can’t wait to see the second half of this video !
21:50 I was so relieved 😌 you saw it and picked it up! … 😮💨😍👏
Love watching each week!!! Thank you so much! Kice is on my bucket list!
I’m living vicariously thru you this year as I’m not going to get to SW Florida this year. So jealous of your hinged spiny jewel boxes. And the baby turkey wing was fabulous! Keep up the good excursions. Happy Easter from Iowa!
Jealous in Missouri !.💚 She surely has an eye for Spiny Jewel boxes ! 👀
Happy Easter to you too!
Another great video! Love Kice-never disappoints! ❤
Going there this summer! Hopefully I find some shells !
Just beautiful!
Wonderful video. Can’t wait to see next weeks video !
I love paper figs! I feel like they are natures cross stitch!
You are in my happy place thank you for the shelling trip as always
Hi Sharmon.. Well since you are curious as to what others pick up...let me share.
Limpets.... ........small limpets... large limpets..whole and broken limpets... plain limpets ..coloured limpets... mussel shells... patterned limpets......Cryptosporidium .... common limpets.....Black footed limpets.... and finally if I lived here a couple hundred years ago ...... Pagan Sacrificial limpets and Bia bocht limpets.
LOL! Yes, it would seem your island has all the limpets!
So much fun. What great shells. Thank you
Gorgeous shells! Love the variety on Kice. 💖🌹🐚
I've never been to Kice Island. Interesting.
Beautiful shells, can’t wait til next week!
That fuschia scallop was gorgeous
I love the tiny shells and how excited you get to find them! ❤️🐚
Your weekly beach adventures are the bright spot of my Sundays, thankyou. And if I could, I would pick up every single shell you do, but I also have a thing for kitten paws, and would love to have a lions paw.
I had to go to Walmart for my Lion's Paw. Yep. Such is the life of the Land Locked. Hee hee !.
That still counts! I met a lady that bought 4 Junonias for $4 each at a flea market!
I treasure my one mostly whole lions paw. Fingers crossed I'll be lucky enough to find another!
Yessss! I love when you go to Kice island! Yayyyyyyy! ( : Can't believe I am just getting to watch Sunday 's show! It was such a crazy week! Phew! Sooo excited to see what you found! ( : I love hinged doubt jewel boxes sooo much!! ( :
OMGGGG! A teeny baby turkey wing! Squeee! ( : You have to take the FL Fighting conch! Hello! ( :
Oooh, nice lace and apple murex! ( : Yessss...a nice, pretty Fighting conch again! I wish my family would find me one of those on Anna Maria Island! Lol! ( : I never have seen one there myself, though, so I am not holding my breath! I love jingles sooo much! ( : And, then my other fav's, a calico scallops! ( : Tampa Turrid! I never heard of this shell before! ( : Really pretty, though! ( : Awww...all the little shells are adorable! ( :
Kice is always so good to me!
You have the best luck with hinged spinies EVERYWHERE!😁 Man Kice has a lot of gaudies! You'd think we'd have Tampa turrids up near Tampa but I don't think I've ever seen one! Yep, I've never seen a hinged BRC either. That little yellow calico scallop is gorgeous!!! And the pink one with the white stripe was too! 9h good! Another week of Kice! Thanks, Sharmon. xxoo
Isn't that nutty about that Tampa turrid? Neat little shell though. Kice is always so good to me!
Thanks for sharing, wish I was there!
Another fun outing, great vid!
Wonderful treasurers today!!!!
I am really enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing. I laugh when you get excited about the fighting conks (sp?). I am that way with scallops, especially calico and black. Can’t leave them! One year, I challenged myself to find the most miniscule ones I could! So fun!
I've got a video for you coming up! I found some really neat black shells on an "eco-tour" I went on. I really like them too!
I worry as I watch you with all those sticks sticking up. I can't believe that you've never poked yourself. In the head or the eye or the cheek, please be careful. The islands are beautibut the sticks arenot or should I say roots trees? I don't know, just be careful.😊
I stub my toes several times when I go to this island so I wear good shoes!
* What a joy to have you release this on Easter! ~ HAPPY EASTER to you. Thanks for taking us on this adventure.. ~ There were some shells that looked like a White Turkey Wing, there were a lot of them & you never mention them. Not Angel wing but squared off oblong white domed.. Weird.. What are they?
Probably the ponderous arcs - they are a little boxy looking. Or maybe the transverse arcs? They are literally as common as the sand. I almost NEVER pay attention to those either.
Love your gaudy nauticas today!
I want a spiny jewel box! Please
I was laughing when you mentioned talking to the screen. It was just after I saw a few goodies you didn’t pick up😂😂😂
Great shelling minds think alike! 😂
I just love the colorful scallops. The hinged lacey jewel box is another favorite. Thanks for a fun video. 🌻🥰🐕
Thanks for watching!
Ive learned so many shells from you, its very fun. I probably never get to Florida myself, I don´t even live in USA but its so nice to watch. I would pick up all the different moonsnails I se :D
I love those moonsnails too!
Thanks to your videos, I booked a charter to Dickman and Kice Island this February and had an awesome time shelling! My coolest find was a baby’s ear also.
That is awesome!
Lace Murex and Colorful Moon Snails, hard to think of prettier shells than those! You know, I close my eyes for the spoilers at the beginning of the video, but now I am so excited to see the live cone and the albino Apple Murex next week! Not that I would ever miss one of your videos anyway!!
I have to admit the live cone is pretty awesome!
Don’t hate me but I stopped watching ur videos purposely so that I’d have something to binge watch and now I have sooooo many videos to catch up in and it’s very exciting . Feels like Christmas
No such thing as hate in my vocabulary, unless it's people being mean to other people or critters 😃 You watch however you like!
I love going to the beach with you every week! Kice Island is always an enjoyable virtual trip and this week did not disappoint. You got some great shells and I am excited to see the haul next week. Happy Easter.
I bet my dad would've been a good sheller. We called him Eagle eye bc he could walk anywhere in the state and find an arrow point. I swear, one time we parked at a groc. Store, and he found one in the decorative gravel. 😆 lol
He probably would have been an amazing sheller, or rockhounder or even gem collector!
@@SWFBeachLife Yeah, He passed his hair color and sense of humor to me. Life is so funny like that !. He made Wishbone dressing for a living, He used his Eagle eyes for that !. 😆🤣
Happy Easter! Love watching your videos! Have a Blessed Week!
Happy Easter to you too!
If you had to recommend just one place to go shelling for a visitor, where would it be?
I have a few different favorites so this is a hard question to answer. I love Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, Keewaydin and the 10,000 islands. Each have their benefits 😃
I live so far from a beach and your videos just make my day. My best beach find was a nautilus and I love shelling. Give me a spring low tide and I'm a very happy person!
You FOUND a nautilus? Amazing!!!
Here in Miami we don’t find tulips at all really but I always see pieces but the pieces are banded and orangey yellow which is odd. I’ve only found one here in 21 years and it was that yellow orange color but banded
It's so crazy that we're only a few hours away but the shells are totally different!
Look forward to your videos.
The tour you took, did they come out of Goodland?? Is the pier still out at Caxambas?
They did indeed go out of Goodland and the Caxambus marina is still closed to commercial business.
Love your weekly adventures! Which tour did you take that would go out early? Thanks
I booked with SWFL Shell Guide but I think she's only taking reservations through May:
www.swflshellguide.com
So…I call those conchs “Feisty Conchs”…’cuz fighting…😆.
They definitely can be feisty! 😂
Happy Blessed Easter ❤
Hi my gf and I are huge fans we love your videos! We live on the other side of Florida and go shelling all the time. We want to take a shelling boat cruise to an island off of sanibel or Ft Meyers. Is there a particular shelling tour or island you would recommend or get a discount if I say your name?
I don't have any partnerships with any tour companies right now so unfortunately I can't help with a discount, but I like going out with Ali with swww.swflshellguide.com in the Goodland/Marco Island Area. In the Fort Myers area I like www.adventureinparadiseinc.com/ and you can always grab a ride with www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com and do a DIY trip to Keewaydin!
I was yelling at you to keep that huge Florida fighting conch 😅😊
I had a separate bag for all the fighting conchs I brought back 😂
Have you ever been to Kice in September? We'd love to go there when we come down, but wonder if there are shells then.
I've probably been there in September. It's truly great all year, but it is better during the winter and after a storm.
Great shelling!
I love tiny shells 🐚
I found 36 baby ears on the Outer Banks of North Carolina
I've heard that's a great place to find them. I would have a blast there!
The tiny shells today were so darling !. SPINY JEWEL BOX !!!. I like the hinged Cardita. My hat's off to you for saving the live gastropods ! They would give ya a snail kiss for your kindness if only they could. I know they are happier wet ! . I'd be doing that rescue, too. 💓🐌💋
Kice - always a joy!
I just love watching you shell!! I just find it so soothing! I wish I lived near the ocean! I'd be out there everyday looking for shells. I particularly like the lace merix and the spiney jewel boxes.
What are the best times of the day to avoid being bitten by sand fleas while shelling?
The winds tend to keep them away so once the sun is up and the breezes start you're typically okay after that. And stay away from the vegetation/brushes too!
Thank you for taking us with you!!!😊😊😊
Thanks for coming
Thank you so much for taking me/us to the warm Florida beaches. I know I will never get down there due to my health so I love seeing all of these shells that I will never touch in my lifetime. They are so beautiful. Shell Heaven 💜✌🏻🐚
Thank you for such wonderful shells. The true tulip and banned tulips are beautiful. The lighting whelkes, olives, and the colorful moon snails along with the horse conks and the fighting conks. The spiny jewel box is awesome. The lace and apple murax are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing all the beautiful shells. Thank you for taking us along with you. Have a great day.
Happy you do this for us every Sunday. We live in missouri, so going to the beach with you helps with our beach withdrawals.
Thank you,you are a Blessing...😊
Thanks for sharing Sharmon! ! I'm addicted lol ! 🐚🦀🦤🐟🦞🪸🐡🏝🐠
A great episode, lots of information thanks. And you said ‘holy moly’, just like Jonno from Australia!
What an amazing day, loved all the shells, thank you so much for sharing your shelling trips, hope you enjoyed your Easter, see you next week
Just love Sunday’s so I can watch and learn about those beautiful shells! ♥️ I also really appreciate that you wash off the shells, when you can, so we can appreciate the colors and shine. Thank you!
