A bracelet with miniature shells would be lovely - like a nice charm bracelet. I don’t like most shell jewelry, but Sharmon, your shell jewelry is absolutely amazing!
That lace murex was the best parting gift. Lovely. I’m looking forward to seeing what you find on your charter next week. Did I say I love your jewelry?
Another fun video...glad you made your way to Ocean Soul. I am a long time buyer from them, great people and the most beautiful jewelry. Love the pieces you had made..so beautiful❤
I was in Marco back in May and talked to the owner about how I watched your videos! They had mentioned you had gotten jewelry made! Was able to get a beautiful true tulip bracelet from them 😊
Thank you again for a fantastic trip on the beach ❣️ I look forward to the next. Thank you for taking a little bit more time when you go through your treasures you have found at the end ❤ love it 😍
Those conchs have so many different colors. So pretty. You are so good at finding those small horse conchs. Adorable. That jewelry is so cool. Wow. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for taking me to the beach. Though I lived in Ft. Myers, Florida and one year on Sanibel, I never learned the names of the shells, but NOW, I know. I love it when you hesitate to say what they are because it gives me a chance to see how well I remember the names of them. I make it a game to see how many I get correct. Thanks again!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤
Wow, you find amazing shells. Love the olives, horse conks, lighting whelkes, true tulips, banned tulips, apple murax and the fighting conks have the most amazing colors and designs. Just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing these beautiful shells with everyone. Love all the other shells as well. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.
Beautiful! Thank you for the clarification on what's what. Some friends and I were at Marco yesterday. Had a Fabulous time with Seth and Megan. Found some very beautiful shells 🥰 Then, the trip was topped off with dolphins 😮 Awesome location 😁💝
Amazing find sea treasure really love your channel am always looking forward for those sea shell you find in every beautiful beach,,I really like and am amazed to all the sea shell in your country
Hi Sharmon, lovely evening here as well as with you. This is a lol... when I first started watching, it seemed like it was always FF CONCHs. However, I have come to have an appreciation on your behalf and evertime you pass them I cheer you on. The purple, zigzag and juveniles are becoming my fav. I also cannot believe you have not found a Junonia...I would love to be a proud owner of one. The water was so very clear, a joy for sure. Thanks again for a great time❣️🦋❣️🐚🐚🐚🌊🌈🥰❣️
Yes, sadly my junonia has not found me yet. It will. I just need to be at the right place at the right time. At least I finally got my giant horse conch!!
I can't believe how you find shells. You call them your treasures. I find that you are so much like me or I'm so much like you because I too am a shell fanatic. I have gallons and gallons of shells and I called them my treasures
What a great haul!! How FUN!! I am a few pieces from Ocean Soul. I love them!!! Great finds, thanks for taking us along. Have a great week! See you Sunday! XOXO
Um…me?! I have 100% access (when I visit) via a very gracious relative! Condo is closed thru September, but would be open to mutual shelling adventure with like-minded?
Love Love the Lightning Whelk. They are my favorite shell. And then the Florida Fighting Conch is my second favorite. I look forward to your videos every week. Thanks for sharing your videos with all of us. ❤
I love shelling with you from Ohio. I haven't been to the gulf coast for probably 5 or 6 years. It has become one of my favorite places to go. I usually go to Venice, Siesta Keys & Lido since I have friends there
Thanks as always. Beautiful fighting conchs. Isn't it just amazing how different they all are? Totally mind-blowing! How and why does each creature make their shell different? I guess we may never know, only appreciate. ❤
Speaking of jewlery...I noticed a lot of jingles in this video. I love the black ones! They would make a very unique necklace if u put a bunch strung together kind of like a charm necklace!
Your jewelry came out beautiful and it really is so much more special when you are involved in design work as well, and the top of the pendant where the chain slides through is called a bail.
What a wonderful day for shelling! It was great to see the water clearing up more and more. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure today. I have to say - I agree with you - let's go for the 4 rather than the 5. It looked a little dicey coming back around that jetty. xoxo
Wow, I just came across your videos on UA-cam. I have always loved sea shells. You are so entertaining and knowledgeable! I was so impressed, I went to your Etsy store and ordered the dough bowl with fighting conch and two candles. I can't wait until it arrives. I love the dough bowls! I'm sure I'll be back to get more fighting conchs!
Hi Denise! I just got the notification that someone bought that - thank you so much! And I hope you learn a little too while we're at the beach together! 😃
Wow another great shelling day ! Such unique shell patterns ! Amazing how each one is different ! Always love seeing live ones as well ! Love the little creatures! That osprey was so gorgeous! Bonus at the end ! ❤
Hi Sharmon.... at time stamp 17:45 you found my long lost shell!! I dropped it in the Irish sea a couple of years ago when I was out at my local reef pulling up my lobster pots. When I dropped it into the drink there was a basking shark close by and I guess he somehow sucked it up. Well of course we all know that basking sharks don't eat gastropods and I'm thinking he must have spat it out again. Its amazing to think that it made it all the way to this beach but truly amazing that YOU found it for me !!! WONDERFUL !!! Happy Days !! :)
You got to see a basking shark??? We have whale sharks over here that remind me of the basking sharks and both are super cool. Not to worry - that shell your friend spat out was so stripey it's now residing in a VERY special glass container I have in my office ❤️ I'll just hold into to it for ya!
@@SWFBeachLife lol.... thank you Sharmon, I may hold you to that !! Yes... we have a lot of basking sharks here in the Irish Sea. ( And other large species too.I terrified my late American husband when I took him out water skiing yrs ago. Actually it was his first time in Ireland. It was hilarious (to me and my brother ) . As you've probably gathered ..the Northern Irish have a very squewiff kind of humour...at times a dark. It took him a few months to see the funny side but he eventually laughed about it.
I just wanted to tell you, I really love, love, your videos. I’ve seen others and they are no comparison to yours! Thank you for always telling and sharing with us so much information 🐚🦀
Seems like this trip to south Marco was better than the last one you videoed. Bigger shells and more variety. Lots of fun watching this! Thanks Sharmon! xxoo
We are headed to Marco for the first time ever in July! There is a negative low tide during our visit. I’m hopeful that even though we’ll be there in the off-season, there will still be some shells to choose from.
It seems like beaches around passes overall are some of the best areas for shelling, I imagine the currents with calmer waters help a lot. Man this location produces the best Fighting conchs! I would think it got sketchy on your way out due to incoming tide always making the ocean just a little rougher, even if the tide is the same level as it was when it was coming out. Thanks for sharing!
That spot is FANTASTIC for those FFCs. I always spend so much time checking them out. And it makes sense about the tides. Plus weather can change on a dime here. Thanks for watching!!
Oh my goodness!! What a day for shelling!! It was so gorgeous and all those shells in their own right were so beautifully designed. You picked up the dark crown conch and when you turned it around it was so light on the inside wall, which I thought amazing!! The top of the lightning welk was so cool and you’re right, you could see the markings of how the shell was made That’s why I love broken shells like that. Super cool!! Thank you for such a wonderful video!! How I love them!! Have a great week and I can’t wait until next weeks video!!🩵🥰🐬🛥️
Hi Sharmon! I always love your "not so secret spot" shelling, lol. I cannot wait till Sept when I go to Marco. I could see my condo in the video and I hope for a good low tide to get around those rocks. I think Marco is amazing. I'm going to have a problem turning down some of those fighting conchs so I will just make sure I have an extra shell bag. Thanks for my Sunday fix! Have a great week! Loved your pendants!
Beautiful, lace murex just to say, Thanks for visiting come back again soon! Its so relaxing just watching the little waves wash over all those rolling shells.......ahhhhh..... Thanks Sharmon, I look forward to these videos.❤
@@SWFBeachLife yes for my first time I think I have a pretty good shell collection just going to pompano beach close to the Hillsboro inlet. My favorites are my tiny shell collection 🥰 We want to go to Jupiter beach. I heard good finds there too! 🐚
Yayyyyyyy! It is a beautiful beach day at Marco Island! ( : Love seeing you here! I was at Short and Long Sands Beach, in York, ME this past weekend as well as North Beach in Hampton, NH! The first time I put my feet in the water down here in July and felt the WARM WATER my mind just about exploded. The water was warm. It blew my mind. I wish I could tolerate the cold better but it sure makes those hot days on the beach a pleasure. I love the heat! I'm glad you managed to find some goodies and still take something you've learned and apply it all the way up there. Yay beach friend!
Hi there! Love your videos! I learn so much! my mom and I are coming the first weekend of July. Touring with real kind showing tours again per your recommendation. Any suggestions on places for us to look for shells not on tour? My mom is older and sometimes can’t climb or do things like that. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.
The easiest walking I can think of near shells is probably Fort Myers Beach. The shells will be small, but it's a quick walk from the parking lots to the beach. There is parking all at the North end of the island.
@@SWFBeachLife It did! Even came with a drill hole for the necklace lol. Ty for the vids btw, my sister and I, both in our 30's, started watching you completely independently and only recently found out. We love to talk about what you find!
Paper figs there too - really? Interestingly enough, that spot is the only spot I've ever seen a live paper fig however I rarely find the shells there. Go figure 🤔
What a wonderful time with you at the beach ! You found my favourites olives and juvenile fighting conches ! I am going back to Cuba in October for my vacation so until then I will enjoy every Sunday night at the beach with you my friend ! 🏖️🩵🦀🐠🐚
I don’t know how you pass up the fighting conch! I just finished a week at Pawley’s Island, SC, and found a live lightning whelk about the size of the one at 5:00. I pushed him back out to the deeper water because a couple of years ago we saw a giant Florida horse conch that we passed on because it was live, but some dude carried it past us an hour later. Ugh. Also found over 30 wentletraps. The baby’s ears and olives were amazing too. Also wanted to mention that I found several sharped ribbed drills and that I discovered they are in the murex family. Loving shells so much! Thanks for keeping the shelling content coming!
30 wentletraps?? I have to get myself up to the Carolina's - that sure sounds like fun! I know the baby ears are more plentiful up there and I'd love to add a bunch to my collection! Thank you for sharing.
Somehow your Patreon e-mail disappeared but I wanted to let you know I truly truly enjoyed the video hearing only beach time sounds, scanning the shell piles, and captioned pics of each find! Everything you do is inspirational so you keep doing you. ❤❤❤🎉
Gorgeous jewelry by Ocean Soul! I would love to visit their store and how cool that they made something from shells that you found yourself. That’s super meaningful and special! ❤️ I make jewelry, too, but mine is usually ceramic and metal. The loop that you put the chain through is called the bail. And the bezel is the setting or the “frame” of the stone, or in this case, the shell. I love the ocean wave that is built in, too. That’s a gorgeous detail. I watch their videos as well and they are very entertaining and they find a lot of really cool things. Yesterday, on Padre Island in Corpus Christi, TX, I found a couple of perfect little shark eyes that have really nice patterns and coloring and then about 5 that were broken but they are really pretty and the eye part is in good condition, so I was thinking maybe I will cut them with my Dremel to make earrings or something. I also found 3 really beautiful sundials that I would love to set into a bezel, or maybe I will let Ocean Soul do that for me! 😉 I have some scallops I found in SWFL and on Navarre Beach that are matching for earrings but I haven’t drilled them yet or set them in bezels, but I’m planning to. That lemony yellow fighting conch you found was awesome. So gorgeous!
Jingles do look the same top and bottom! The bottom has a hole in it though. The critter has these, let's call them strings, that goes through the hole in the bottom and sticks to rocks or other hard surfaces so they can filter feed. The top piece usually comes loose but every now and then I'll find a hinged jingle.
Hi Sharmon! I love your videos. Hopefully, I will be at my sons in St. Petersburg in October and November. I am thinking about spending some time down there. I was just wondering if there is a hotel on that side of the jetty. Thanks Pat
There are (very expensive) condos on the beach right there that you may be able to rent. I'm a big fan of VRBO - I would look for anything in the area!
Thanks for another great video. Question - what app do you use for watching the tides? I've finally moved to SWF and am starting my own shelling trips. Haven't found as many amazing shells as you are yet, but even the "common" shells can be fun too. Love your channel, thanks so much for shar🎉!
Would love to see a bracelet with all your favourite miniatures.

I have to say the water in Maine/NH was gorgeous and clear like yhe water here in FL at Marco Island! ( : But, unlike FL, the water temp was only low 50's and unswimmable without a wet suit!
Ohhhh...I love the fighting conch and flat scallop you had made into jewelry at Ocean Soul Jewelry! ( : How beautiful! (: Love that you ended with a gorgeous lace Murex! ( : You found all my favorites today! Thank you sooo much for sharing, Sharmon! ( : You did worry me coming around the jetty back yo the main brach today! Phrwy! That looned scary! Too scary for my blood! Eek. I am onky 5'1", so, I would've been buried! Eek! ) : Please go back sooner! My heart can't take it! JK! Lol! But sort of true! ( :
Awesome video as usual! Thank you for always sharing your beach and shell adventures! ( : ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰
Thanks!
It is easy to tell you had been there a while, just by the prune of your finger tips! I would love to be there with you. Enjoyed the bounty you found.
Yes, the summer pruning - LOL! I'll be in that water as much as I can while I can!
Look at the crazy pattern cut in the shell above her hand @ 28:42
I wish I had grabbed it. It almost looked like a flower!
@@SWFBeachLife It did! Even came with a drill hole for the necklace lol. Ty for the vids btw, my sister and I, both in our 30's, started watching you completely independently and only recently found out. We love to talk about what you find!
@@scotte1096 LOL! Thank you both for watching!! 🙏🏼
You always find such beautiful shells I love your channel
I love the Fighting Conchs that Marco always has in abundance, but I usually find lots of Paper Figs there too. Your haul is spectacular!
I want to go shelling in Cuba!! And I they also have fresh water snails that are to die for. I'd want to hunt for those shells too. Jealous!
I love your show and I love the shells I've learned so much from you but I'm having a hard time getting on your Facebook page. Any info will help❤
@@ClaireO-e3x As long as you follow my UA-cam channel you're getting all the good stuff but here is my FB page: facebook.com/southwestfloridabeachlife
I was at casperson beach in Venice sitting in the shell piles and found my first wentle trap. It was absolutely tiny
WOW! That's fabulous! Aren't those little shells crazy pretty? But so tiny!
Somehow your Patreon e-mail disappeared but I wanted to let you know I truly truly enjoyed the video hearing only beach time sounds, scanning the shell piles, and captioned pics of each find! Everything you do is inspirational so you keep doing you. ❤❤❤🎉
Thank you Penny! I really appreciate the feedback!
You're lucky you can choose to either make something or have someone else make it for you! I don't have the shell jewelry eye that others do!
Beautiful shells. I was wondering if the jingles look the same on top and bottom? I really love a beautiful perfectly shaped flat scallop. 🐚🐌🌻🐕🥰
@@SWFBeachLife thank you for the information. I always love their color. Love your videos. 🐕🥰
I feel like the lightening welks kind of look like a chocolate swirls drum stick or something. 🐚 ❤
Right? So many things about shells remind me of food!
I know what you mean about the shells calling to you. I can hear them from Utah!
It's a thing! And it sound like you need a vacation!!
It's called tides its white with a blue tide in it and you could set other locations too so you could watch other places
I showed the app in a previous episode - this should help! ua-cam.com/video/skpXEeeU9ZU/v-deo.html
I hope you have fun exploring SWF!!
