Oh my gosh Brian! This video was amazing! And I thought Kice was the bomb! I have got to visit this place next time down. I can't imagine camping overnight somewhere like that. I only go once a year so I would probably take tons of batteries for my flashlight and never go to sleep just shell day and night. Awesome!! Love the way you catch nature's beauty on film so well. Have to watch this one over and over. I'm so jelly!!!

Amazing shells! It's crazy how many there are in that area. I wonder if Sanibel used to look like this (shell wise) way before anyone ever stepped foot there. Even if broken that Junonia is an awesome find, that's awesome to see it just laying out there in the open. It definitely pays to have the island to yourself. I have also always wondered this... I am sure before tourist traffic, and industrialization of the area, Sanibel was pristine and maybe looked something like Cayo Costa or Keewaydin. As far as shells go though, it seems though that there are quite a few sub - species, and endemic variations that are rather unique to the 10k islands region. When you went to grab that Junonia my eyes just about popped out of my head! The tulips were stunning, as well as, the fighting conchs. The horse conch was beautiful. This is my trip of a lifetime! I enjoyed every second. You need a bigger shell bag lol 😆
I will be going on a 4 hr shelling tour to Keeywaden Island a week from next Monday....I am so excited to go there. I hope I can find some beautiful shells like you found on Cape Romano Island....perhaps my next stop should be there :) Thanks for sharing your finds....E in Georgia.

Love this! I've never been to that part in the 10K's...awesome! There is a place on Kice you can still camp at (not the north or south end) but it's a killer with bugs so the winter is ideal there. Just beautiful as always and those alphabet cones were amazing to say the least!! Ahhhhhh almost a whole J! I missed a J cob right in front of me last month on Kice! Happy shelling always 🐚
Watched this video the other day when you put it out, but my computer was on the 'fritz' and in the shop so am commenting now...really love the overabundance of shells and am still half guessing the name of the different types of shells...and we had to evacuate the coast here in SoOregon because of the 7.0 earthquake out at sea...the Tsunami sirens went off as did the warning alarms on our cells...time to head for high ground and our harbour was evacuated! The "all clear" was sounded 2 hours later and, yes, I did have a house to come home to...although we're up on a cliff, you never know....

Brian, I found three shell bags in pastel colors on eBay. Super reasonable.That is exactly what you need because your bag is way too small. And I would sit in one of those piles with a sieve. It is in my beach bag!😊

Amazing you can find a decent size island with no one else there in Florida lately. Seems any beaches or islands always have bunch of people on beach making it tough to check shorelines. The islands gone to always bunch of other boats or jet skis with people partying leaving cans and loud noise giving you zero peace to enjoy amazing beaches & islands. Unfortunately there are going to be less and less areas like this with the insane amount of people moving down here and overdevelopment . Glad you found peaceful place for shelling but also enjoy nature .
Hi friend! There are still quite a few unspoiled beach/nature areas in Florida! Before making a trip like this one, I always try to do a little research ahead of time, so I can figure out the places others don't go, don't go to often, or that may require a little more effort/planning to get to 😎 I'll also say, that even the busiest of beaches have their quiet times(very early mornings usually) - if I am shelling in these places, I try to take advantage of those opportunities as well. Wonderful finds! Shell after shell after shell.😊 Looks like you found a Sozon's cone in your first day video. Also, one of your shells you found in your second video identified as a Florida cone looks like a Conus Regius, or a Conus Rosemaryae. What do you think?
Hello! I recently found a Sozon's Cone in Jupiter, but that was the first one I have ever found one of those. Florida Cones can be tricky because they come in many different colors, and patterning, and to complicate things further, I also think there are actually a couple sub-species. In Florida, Conus Regius are almost exclusively only found in the south-east area of the state, or the Keys. I have found many of these in the Caribbean, and they are beautiful! Thanks for watching!
I noticed they had that same muted color too. Most of those shells look like they've been there a while. Bleached, pitted and rough. I would think that area would have had many more vibrant fresh shells. Hmmm. Interesting. Would still be an amazing time to hunt all day.
Many of the shells(but not all) at the southern end of the island were that muted color. Shells more toward the northern end of the island possessed normal colorations. I am not sure why this is, but it is certainly interesting! Thanks for watching!

Hi friend, this was only rocks and other debris caught in the shell. I always initially check for buddies when picking up shells, and then check again when I finish shelling just to make sure no one was hiding well in their shells. With all of that said, I only ever collect empty shells. If a shell does have an inhabitant, I will often film this as a feature and show the channel, so everyone can enjoy observing the live creature. Thanks so much for watching! 💙
In Brazil, it is an environmental crime to collect shells, after I found out I stopped taking them from the beach. So, I'm addicted to watching it, because I loved collecting, childhood robbie.
This is interesting! I’ve read about this law before, but I always understood it to focus primarily on environmental crimes, specifically prohibiting the commercialization of shells and coral. As far as I knew, recreational collection wasn’t considered illegal. Thanks so much for watching!
