Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I would like to know the size of that gas valve fitting to check for gas pressure with the manometer or if you can share a link of where to buy it. Thank you
Great video ! I have a issue with a gas comercial heather that is used in drive tru canopy ! And is not turn on What could b the issue The valve or the main gas ?
Hello. great content. I Have a question … have you ever experienced a commercial customer call you with a complaint of natural gas odor inside a store? I’m checking these units up and down but am almost out of theories. Is there a premature opening of the gas valve or maybe an induction motor with a leak somewhere? Pretty windy on the roof maybe it needs a exhaust extension brought up higher.
I did not I ordered it it came in in 2 days I am an hour and a 1/2 from Nashville to an hour 2 hours from Memphis One hour from Jackson I have suppliers all over near me
Its generally going to be an ohms reading. Continuity is generally for broken wires. Either way, its the same mode on your meter to look for low ohms or O.L.
Man that was a wealth of knowledge!! Thanks tad! What size of manometer fittings do you typically use? I'm in commercial hvac in Texas but still green.
Hey tad quick question how did you know that sensor was supposed to be 10k ohm? I haven't diagnosed that sensor before but on the ODA and SAT MAT sensors RTA sensors etc how do you check those? Is that with a 10 k ohm chart? And has to match the same ambient temp outside???
Thank you Tod good information all around. However, being new to HVAC, I find it disconcerting when the teacher uses their elbows/fingers to point at something of importance. Please strive to be super clear by using a probe tip or chopstick to point and maintain the point for three or four seconds for a screenshot reference. Thank you.
I think they actually cost more and are have better efficiency. But on the other hand, they break easier and are harder to repair. We require them to have hail guards on the rooftops units in our facility.
Your pipe doping skills are lacking here. First, you gotta clean the old threads with a wire brush. Next, apply a thin coat (more is not better). Last, you have to make sure to not get any pipe dope on the end of the pipe (you definitely got a big gob on the end of the pipe) so that it doesn't go into the system and cause problems. A final recommendation is that cogged belts are superior to those straight, standard belts.

The Dumb and Dumber reference was awesome, Lloyd Christmas is somewhere smiling. Thanks for posting Tad, solid video.

Good luck my friend wishing you great success
Thank you for watching
Before taken the inducer motor out I would loosen the burner manifold out. A lot easier
Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

Thank you
Your menometer comes with the fittings

You are best of the best 👌 👍 HI from GOLSTAR healing and cooling
Do you have a video on how to clock the meter on a unit like this?
No sir but I can make one
Good info Tad ... Thx for posting ...
You can't go off the 24 volt to the gas valve I have had them read 24 but had bad common on board if you have analog volt meter it will read 0
Good video man, I’m starting as comercial pm technician and really looking forward to moving up
You can do it!

could be a bad board or something like that where its sending power to gas valve and not igniting.
or regulator vent is leaking
I’m in my 2nd semester of HVac school and ur videos are really good for learning new things
Glad you like them!
Nice video. How did you manage to have a replacement valve on hand?
I did not I ordered it it came in in 2 days

It’s looks exactly like a carrier rtu but it has yorks shitty controller. Crazy
How would you know it was a 10 km sensor?
from online documentation or manual if with unit
I would hate to ask but do u have any Carrier/Trane/Rheem unit trouble shoot
I'm not sure if I do or not
I think I do but if I don't I'll have some soon
Hey great video, but did have one question, you normally check your sensor by ohms reading and not continuity?
Normally I check the resistance reading
Continuity is also a good check
Its generally going to be an ohms reading. Continuity is generally for broken wires. Either way, its the same mode on your meter to look for low ohms or O.L.
It will work the same way I use continuity

Glad I could help
They are all standard simple barbed fitting works should come with manometer
Why all the rust on the gas pipes and disconnect switches ?? What area of the US is this ??
Tennessee near Nashville
Pipes rust everywhere doesnt matter the location. Even indoors. In salty air, close by oceans, is where metal will rust much faster.
It was an awesome video thank you
never adjust a used belt. always install a new belt and then adjust if needed. put a spare or two in a plastic bag.
I agree then you get the new one you have to re adjust it again
