    Awesome videos. I’ve had two heat pumps on maintenance calls lately and really knew nothing about them, mostly because we don’t see many, but this was very informative!!

    At 13:28, I noticed that the suction pressure went into a vacuum. I heard the audible noise from the compressor sounding like it a mechanical clank. You ended up condemning the outdoor TXV since there was no temp drop between the outdoor TXV. Reason could be is that the outdoor TXV opened up all the way due to sensing bulb not sensing proper suction temp since the suction was in HG. In this fact would case no difference in temp across the txv which in normal conditions should of caused a superheat temp difference if the TXV was sensing proper pressures. In this case it could of been that the reversing value wasn't switching properly. The only reason why I say this is because when you did the changeout, there was only a 3 degree difference since the audible noise is gone and proper pressure are present. As well, your hot discharge temp was only 71F. Clearly the hot gas wasn't leaving the unit. Wouldn't the outdoor txv be the least of your worries since that's AFTER the unit subcools the hot discharge inside the air handler? I believe that this was fixed after a proper vacuum and proper charging procedures oddly enough.

    • @fazesenso2864
      @fazesenso2864 10 днів тому +1

      The outdoor txv could be plugged on its internal bypass or plugged in metering device operation . In this case it wasn’t causing a restriction in cooling but in heating during the metering device operation it was plugged and causing a restriction . The reversing valve is not the issue .

    • @fazesenso2864
      @fazesenso2864 10 днів тому

      If the reversing valve wasn’t switching properly you would see a temp differences in ur two suction lines and the hot gas would be bleeding over to the suction gas because of pressure/ temp difference.

    • @pukeii
      @pukeii 10 днів тому

      @@fazesenso2864 I see your point but how come hot gas was at 71F when this was happening. Besides the txv probably being restricted.

    • @pukeii
      @pukeii 10 днів тому +1

      @@fazesenso2864 The reason why i’m confused is that the Txv didn’t show a drastic difference in temperature if it were to be plugged. It actually showed the same temperature.

    If you took ur red hose and put it on the liquid line port In heating . Wouldn’t you see a high pressure then the discharge ?? Because we aren’t metering past the outdoor txv ??? And all the refrigerant is built up on that side of the system ?

    Any clue why a mini split wont blow cold air and heater wont work or blow but the fan mode does we had it recharged but 20 mins later its gave a code el oc and heater gave CF( but its brand new straight out the box even had a pressure test and everything was good would appreciate it so much for a reply !! @@cesareolopez7222 Hey, I am a tech but i was hoping my comment can serve you well. Im assuming you're using a MR cool since your error for CF is a main anti freeze error for mr cool mini splits. If you confirmed that your refrigerant levels are proper and weighed in properly. PS Please make sure you watch the pressures actually stay steady on the suction when its running it cooling. CF error code for heating is simply the Anti-Cold Air feature in action during HEAT mode. This feature prevents cold air from blowing into the room until the system warms up. Since you're getting this error code, it does seem like you are running low on refrigerant. Please confirm if you weighed it in. Now if you did and continue to get this error code. Check your coil thermistors, they may be faulty and causing it go on a lockout.
