Summary: Fish when it not sunny, and make sure you have Inaba Jewel Beetle for Guardian, and Genji Beetle for the Sea Guardian. You have to make sure you have the quest activated, or else the fish won't come. And for sure for the Sea Guardian make sure you talk to old man in Flood Plains. Or else the Sea Guardian won't appear, even though you accepted Ema the Fox request. Just throwing the bait in the water, and then reel it back, and then throw back again until you see the crazy splash.
No problem! This method is a time saver if you aren't good at the bug catching mini-game like me. You just need at least 1 bait, and whole lot of patience. Sometimes you can get the Guardian/Sea Guardian first few tries. And sometimes you need to do it 20+ times.
It's January now and its snowing, I can't activate the quest it just says ask about bait and the other options but nothing about Sea Guardian and do you just get the Guardian before unlocking quest 60?
@@ZephyrAeon1337 You have to get Guardian at the Samegawa Riverbank first. Once you do, then you show it to the old man at the Riverbank. The old man will tell you about the Sea Guardian. You need to be Rank 9 with Ema the Fox. And accept the quest 15: The Shichiri Beach Guardian. If you can't get quest 60 to appear, then it might means you might need to complete quests Quest 32: Acquire Inaba Trout and give the fish to weapon smith. But I don't think that quest is required. Make sure you have the Inaba Jewel Beetle bait, save before attempting to catch the Sea Guardian. And finally doing my trick will save time by only technically needing 1 bait, and not having to waste multiple days trying to catch the Sea Guardian.
@@mianlo2624 I'm actually having trouble getting the Guardian. I'm on 1/20 and I'm convinced it's impossible at this point. This is the last hurdle I need alongside the Sea Guardian in order to be able to max all social links on my first play through but it's infuriating. I'm trying to fish in the snow at night and I'm trying your trick. I've been at this for 3 hours and no change in the ripples.
@@ZephyrAeon1337 Inaba Jewel Beetle for River Guardian and Genji Beetle for Sea Guardian, you can't unlock sea guardian spawn without deep sea fishing pole which only unlock when you catch river guardian (i catch during raining at night) and present it to the old man and don't forget to read expert fishing book to give you what advantage you need to catch either of the two guardians.
Exact same boat here. In January, got the jewel beetle and there is just no way to make the quest with the Daidara guy spawn, so the river guardian just won't appear. Not seeing anything here to resolve this, convinced it's some kind of soft lock.

Then you have to first complete Quest 32 - Acquire Inaba Trout and Quest 38 - Harvest Two Types of Corn for Weapons Guy (Daidara). I believe you also have to talk to the fisherman about the Guardian for it to appear. But I don't know if that is only for the Sea Guardian. I also recommend fishing when it is raining. And more importantly save before attempting, so just in case you screw up. You don't waste your bait, and worse your day.
When I talk to the old man I can only say 4 things: Ask how to wish, Ask about bait, Ask for tips on hard-to-catch fish, Nevermind. I already caught the Samegawa Guardian and I have Fox on rank 4 if that matters. What should I do? Thanks.

You also have to make sure you accepted the request to get the Sea Guardian, or else it won't appear. It is important that you caught The Guardian first, and show the old fisherman that you caught it. Or else you won't be able to get Sea Guardian. This from a person rage quited after 50 attempts of getting everything, but the Sea Guardian. Make sure you have a Genji Beetle, or else it won't appear. Or at least I haven't encouter. And then you can use my glitch/trick to get the Sea Guardian with only use 1 bait.
No problem! I discovered this by accident, when I was running out time to complete Ema the Fox quest. I wasted so many days to get the Sea Guardian. Then one day I simply did this trick, I was stunned how much time I saved. This also helpful if you suck at the catching bugs mini-game just like me.

Yes, you can claim it wasn't the good guide, but I argue it was pointed at right direction on how to tackle the trophy. First thing to do is to print out a list of all the potential lines that Rise could say. For example, the website "RPG site" has good list on how to get the trophy. Once you have a list, then you cross off the line your gotten so far. Secondly, I recommend doing this on New Game+, because you'll won't needing to worry about Social Link, Social Quality, Grade, money, or grinding dungeon. Third thing to do is get Persona that has strength so you'll put the game Rush Mode and end the fight quickly. Avoid shadow if possible. I say don't worry about any lines until get to the third dungeon and defeat Shadow Teddie. Fourth I recommend stocking up on elemental items that damage one enemy at like; like Firecracker. Try to do this trophy as low level run until you get to fourth dungeon . Just to make sure you get lines for being low level. Fifth thing there are three ways to attack the shadows: surprise attack, attack when they notice you, and you get ambushed. Oh yeah, try to get two shadow to attack you so they can get reinforcement. Sixth thing is to get different amounts of enemy to defeat. For instance, you can fight between one to five enemies. And when do get five enemies get one of your teammates to kill all the enemies with their Persona, or element items. Seventh you don't necessarily have to do this on Very Hard or Hard mode. You just try your best to avoid leveling up. Eighth is to have option to Continue after getting a Game Over. This option basically lets you revive the Main Character if he dies. This also your teammates. Anyway, I discovered three lines of you killed your Main Character. Tenth is just have only have one teammates at a time, so it like Yu and Chie only. It just so when the whole team gets debuff or get inflicted with an aliment. You won't get to deal Rise BS like I did. Because you won't be able to increase the Social Link when you are in summer break. One important thing is the Jester Social Link is timed to get to Rank 6 by November 1. Or else you'll have to reload a previous file, or worse start new game like me. But once you do that, you be able to get to Social Link Rank 9 through Story progression. To get Social Link 10 you have to get the Golden Ending, and once it is March 20, Nanako will give you a letter from Adachi. You will have to go to Jules food court and read the letter for Social Link 10.
