Mostly instrumental with occasional guest vocalists. The two guitarists are considered possibly the best contemporary technical players. They just appeared in a live video with Babymetal doing the vocals.
As a hip hop enjoyer who grew up playing instruments I felt the same way when I heard them for the first time. You should check out Goat, OD, and Chimera (I prefer the live playthrough version on Tim Henson's channel). Great reaction!
YYC? I'm in YEG. They are talented. Yes, they are instrumental. You should check out "ABC" by them. There are vocals in it. Collab with a female singer.
If you want to check them out with guest vocalist, please check out "ABC" featuring Sophie Black, "Bloodbath" with Chino Moreno, "Chimera" featuring rapper/singer Lil' West or co work with Babymetal "Brand New Day" live. :)
There’s so much good metal in Canada. Archspire (techn9ne but growling), protest the hero, beyond creation, first fragment, I’m certain I’m forgetting some but those are great places to start.
Guys. Absolutely phenomenal reaction video. I was skeptical about clicking your vehicle because I usually look for reactions from musicians or teachers. My own ignorance assumed that you fellows as rappers (listed on the title) would mean you wouldn’t appreciate the complexity of this music. However I was blown away by your intellect and appreciation!! Bravo. You both are clearly musicians (beyond rappers) and I heard you say producers as well and it’s clear in your analysis and reaction. Thank you for sharing! It makes me feel like I’m watching it for the first time with you. Sorry for my bias and excellent work!
Had the pleasure of seeing Polyphia live in Boston. Tim Henson (the guitarist that starts the song) was super chill and they are all more impressive in person. If you wanted to check out another impressive instrumentalist video with some vocals (more metal genre), check out: “Die on the Cross of a Martyr - Unprocessed”. It features Tim Henson and Scott Lepage from Polyphia. Best of luck with the content boys

Great reaction guys! I just subscribed! to continue your Polyphia journey, check out "Ego Death" (from their latest LP and features Steve Vai) and G.O.A.T. (from an older LP). Oh, and if you want to hear a collab with vocals that's fun, check out ABC with Sophia Black
Great reaction, boyz😂. They are metal guys with a twist. We need to start getting you into some heavier metal. Try reacting to Falling in Reverse I rec song (ronald). Got a little bit for everyone in that song.

'not easy' doesn't even begin to describe what this is ;)
“That 808 is going crazy” 😂
Sir, that’s just Clay. That is not an 808.
They play with a style called "hybrid picking." They use a pick but also pluck with their free fingers.

I always laugh at the fact that Tim Henson just paid some guy on Fiverr to do the whistling for this.

Tim has his own channel. He shows how he composes and produced his songs. Also solo play throughs where you can see the details of his technique.
They started out metal and they still do some metal but they've started to diversify over their last 3 albums.

Archspire is just so incredibly good
You fellas missed out by only having the one earbud each, the song definitely needs the full surround experience

Me too! Roadrunner Oct 2023 or a different time? They go crazy live fr
You think Polyphia is pop metal? lmao
Pop metal isn’t even a genre
Pretend it's spelled Poliphia. Then you've got the name down.

The smooth bossanova jazz of metal.. or hardstyle 😊
React to Polyphia feat Steve Vai: Ego Death
Y'all were mesmerized 🙂
