Got the Off Road Tacoma, loving it so far came from a 2009 Pre Runner. Very capable truck, while these are the top of the line models, I'm more than positive my Off Road could run these trails just as well.
I really enjoy your reviews. This one ranks pretty high. Great job!
Great review as always! I really enjoy watching these comparisons even though I know I'll never be able to afford one of these trucks. It's crazy how expensive they’ve gotten especially for something you'd take off-road. Keep up the awesome content!
Dad with the Home Hardware hat 🔥🔥🔥
Compressor is cool. Sport rack in the bed is goofy and the air seats are gimmicky. Very capable off road, but Toyota needs to focus on reliability as of late.
While you’re under the truck on the ramp(love that you do that), maybe take a few seconds to show if those skid plates cover the oil drain plug. Looks like they do on the trail hunter but you don’t mention it. Truck people care about that kind of thing. Removing a heavy skid plate to change your oil sucks. Just a suggestion. Love your channel.
Would be nice if they could offer the TRD Pro without those ridiculous seats. And while they’re at it, drop the price 10k.
Agreed. Also, they need to offer a rear-seat delete option. So if you want, can have better storage back there without the seat.
trd pro seats are definitely goofy
BAD ASS prices, sorry I don't know morse code.
Awesome review, guys. You're really doing a thorough and professional job. I can't afford these but I enjoy seeing the new tech in detail.
I’m keeping my vehicle. It’s paid off and does everything I need it to.
I really want to like this Truck. They look great. But so many compromises. 1st why build a new platform and not make the rear seat usable. Basically its just storage. Especially on the TRD Pro with those seats. Why not have the long bed be a option on every model. TRD fake hood scoop. No Sunroof option on the Trail Hunter (US). And the plasticly interior. And they are both 65-70k...!!! But in 2034, they will be a Bargain...
One thing I like about Toyota is the technology of off-road trucks. Very impressive.
All that damn tech lol. I got a new Ranger earlier this year. After the first camping trip on mild trails the truck freaked out flashing a bunch warning lights at me-ABS, Driver Assist, and Stability control. Turns out it was just upset the forward sensors were dirty. Never had an issue off-road with my old F150 in all the years of hitting the dirt.
Great video, super Informative. I’m surprised by how much beefier the TH is underneath and combined with the compressor it would be my choice. Gotta say though, the prices are a tough pill to swallow, given what else is out there and Toyotas early reliability issues on these. I have a 2024 Rubicon 4xe and a 2024 F150 Raptor-both on 37s, and Toyota just doesn’t compete at that level.
All 2024 4Runner still offers steel gas tank skid plate. What’s up with that Tacoma plastic gas tank skid plate.
I like technology. It makes it easier. But, too much technology takes the fun of off-road. As you demonstrated, you had to go through the dials to turn it off so that the truck would function properly without delays. But, I still love it. Beautiful trucks.
I hope Toyota lets us chose in the next model year on items such as the Pro seats, bed length and if we want the outside intake on the trail hunter because if I was getting a new one, I would want the Pro for the shocks, but not the seats do to all the room they take up and I would like to have the 6 foot bed, but I don't want the outside intake.
That's the reason I like the Nissan Frontier Pro4x. It's sweet and simple. It is not too difficult with too much technology. You are right about toyota not designing a truck with the technology that will differentiate off-road and street roads.
*I minute in and the cheapness already showing no gas hood struts in 2024? That's ridiculous.*
What does the year have to do with anything?
@@ALMX5DP because cars have had them for 50 some years now.
@@alexyoungberg5232and so that means they cost the same as a simple metal prop rod?
@@ALMX5DP did you miss the asking price for these vehicles?
@@alexyoungberg5232I did not, but my question was about the year and not the price..
Can’t wait to see how the new frontier does off road
Both are beautiful trucks. Both have aggressive attitudes. I will take both. But, I would rather have the Nissan Frontier Pro4x 2025. Lol. Nissan kept it sweet and simple. 😊😊😊 BTW, good presentation. I enjoyed your reviews. Keep up the good work, young man 👨
great video
Trailhunter. Current Pro is full of gimmicks just to raise the price. They should be options.
Two $65k midsize trucks...THE CAR MANUFACTURERS HAVE GONE CRAZY!!!! Yet some people will go into idiot levels of debt to afford one and probably finance it with an 84 month loan too!!! C.R.A.Z.Y!!!
The tech is scary. Damage to wiring is what comes to mind.
For middle class brothers and sisters… the decision to buy these ridiculously expensive vehicles will keep. You. Poor.
Exactly I seen the prices and I am like who wants to pay that making regular middle class folks money? Oh the I want an expensive car payment that will keep me living paycheck to paycheck robbing myself from being able to save and invest aggressively.
Kinda reminds me of my old job where folks were talking about trucks and BMW purchases and I am like you don't make a higher 6 figure income to afford that. Go get you a honda or Toyota SUV like a RAV4 or Highlander call it a day
I could never afford these trucks when I was young with a mortgage payment. They must be targeting GenX
@@AddingLifeAdventureor targeting higher income middle class that are financially responsible? Not hard to be debt free
@@MrMikeDaofinancially responsible people don’t buy overhyped over priced junk. They tend to not have car payments at all if they can. So you basically explained why these trucks are sitting on every single lot everywhere. Getting a car payment is not being debt free, you kind of make no sense with your statement 😂🤡
TH should have 35s to make it more unique
Sure, these trucks are expensive. But the come with evrything and then some. You could buy an SR-5 and build it up if you care that much about price. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy it.
Did they fix the front drive shaft snapping issue?
lol, two 10k Canadian trucks, maybe some rich white collar can afford them
Yes!!!
Trailhunter is the most overpriced truck in Canada at over 86k. The stupid intake and racks should be a option to keep the price down. Hope there is a towing , payload and mpg test coming.
Trail Hunter re looks so much better
Trailhunter looks better. However they should abandon hybridization and go back to the 4.0L V6 of many years ago.
This may be a case of two steps forward, one step back, but I’m not sure industry should ever go completely backwards.
There is just no reason to go backwards.
Toyota has lost its way
That rear bed rack on the TH looks just as trashy as the one on the Pro 4X Nissan, please lose it. The amount of money you have to spend to get one of these trucks almost guarantees they will stay on pavement for 10 years when most of us won't mind getting them scratched up in the woods. Translation: we will buy 10-15 years old trucks now to do just that.
No V6 and to much good bye toyota 😂😂😂
trailhunter
No cheeseball camo? Please tell me it has piped in engine noise!?! 😂 do we even get real leather?! I want to feel the luxury of real leather as my transmission drops out of the truck on the highway!!!
Real leather? Go buy a Rolls-Royce. Real leather has no place in a truck anyway.
@@Dusdaddy I don’t mind leather…
@@Wellh0wrya I'd rather have something duarable and long lasting. Same with flooring, no need for carpet. Save all that crap for the Denali, Limited, or 1794 editions.
Neither I’ll buy a used second gen tundra or a used Tacoma for a fraction of the price and it’ll outlive these overpriced, low quality vehicles
Maintenance and driving habits likely will dictate whether or not that occurs.
@@ALMX5DP obviously
@@ALMX5DPthey already had massive recalls for transmission issues, so maintenance doesn’t really matter when you’re getting a faulty product from the start.
@@Keefer24 every OEM has had massive recalls at one point or another. No guarantees in life.
Made in Mexico, not worth 10k CAD at all, cheap labour
