    For those people asking for a Raptor comparison, they did that a couple weeks ago and chose the ZR2 over the Raptor. That being said, these are all good trucks. People need to relax when their favorite isn’t “the chosen one.”

      I just bought a '24 Colorado ZR2 and love it, especially after taking it to Moab for 3 days with less than 1,000mi on the clock. I'm definitely a noob at the offroad thing, and think I'll put 34's (285/75/17) on the stock rims, a skidplate for the rear diff and gas tank, and MAYBE a 1-2" lift later if I feel I need it, and that's good enough for me AND I saved a ton of money over the Bison. That the Bison is priced in Ranger Raptor territory without an engine upgrade would make me favor the Raptor if I felt like spending that kind of money. I'm more of an "overlanding" guy (though I don't camp), but since I go everywhere solo, I want MORE capability than I think I'll ever need to make sure I get back.

      @SuperGdhf 7 місяців тому +2

      This is a fair question. Personally, I don’t think it would make any difference at all, really. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter share the same frame, drive train, power plant, wheelbase (unless you spec the THunter with a 6’ box). Same 4WD modes, each have a stabi-bar disconnect and a locking rear diff. The only major differences are the frame-mounted rock sliders and the suspension on the Hunter. So perhaps that could make a difference, and now that I think about it, it certainly would. I think it’s certainly worth exploring - would be cool to see a TRD Pro and Trailhunter go directly head to head. In a variety of conditions, high and low speed. I’m not a Tacoma engineer or expert - I’m merely going off of everything I’ve learned about these rigs. :)

    • @kx8960
      @kx8960 7 місяців тому +3

      More hp, but NOT best suspension, the Bison is better with the added jounce dampers. The "regular" ZR2 (I have a '24) suspension is equal to the Raptors in every way for at least $6k (even BEFORE markup) cheaper. I can put a tune on it and '34's and maybe a 1-2" life for less than the difference.

      @@kx8960 The Colorado's suspension is nowhere NEAR as good as the Raptor's. Even though they have jounce dampers they are still just 'dumb' shocks. All of Ford's Raptor line up has live valve 'smart shocks' which have their own CPU and processors to calculate the perfect amount of stiffness to give the truck in any situation. Comparing the Colorado suspension to the Raptor suspension is just a bad joke.

      @@migueljardim8177 LOL Ok fanboi. You think that just because something is more complicated/expensive/prone to failure, it's better?🤣 Me, I'll rely on reviewers that have driven both and say they're equal. For reference (bike vs car, but same principle), all the racers I know that had the electronic suspension on their BMW S1000RR's removed them in favor of Ohlins. The only thing that's a bad joke is the Raptor's price and absurd dealer markups. Me I'll take the $6k-$16k (w/markup) difference and put 34's on it, mybe a mild engine tune, and maybe a mild lift, and spend the rest on a new dirtbike. Believe what you like fanboi...🤣
