Damn now I really want to lift my xterra. The plastics also look really good. I recently ceramic coated my plastics to get them nice and refreshed but it's not a permanent solution. Once it wears off, I might bedliner it too. 285s are going to look sweet on that x. I just got some new wheels and tires for my X and I can't wait to get them installed.
Holy cow man, i was wondering where you were, man 8ball is looking great now. On a sad note my red 05 xterra i named clifford is sadly burning oil, i still owe over $5k on him but unfortunately i think im gonna have to trade him in. The previous owners didnt take care of him and the nissan dealership i dealt with really shouldnt have sold me cliff unfortunately. But ill keep you updated on how it goes, but congratulations with 8ball man love these videos, im sure all the headache was worth it at the end of the day😀

Brennan is the bomb. He knows his stuff. Sent him my xterra last year and he nailed it. Threw in a V8 with under 100k and she runs like a beauty. The VK under 100k is basically a baby still anyways lol

For your new project xterra: Trun it into a mad max post apocalyptic battle truck ready to mow down zombies after the next mega virus. Maybe cut a hole in the top, and install a 50 cal machine gun so the guy in the back can be a gunner. Put advanced radar and communication gear in the cargo area. Oh and a solid crash bumper for the front when you have to smash through other vehicles. Just saying.... :D

Definitely consider an m226 swap with e locker and m205 in the front. I plan on vk swapping my 2012 frontier Pro4x and putting 35s on it with either 3.73 or 4.10 gears with an m205 in the front.
I was going to mention the same. Titan suspension swap with Titan rear end with the E-locker.

Awesome Job. Saw a "sawed off" xterra a while back that had been rolled on a trail and had essentially been cut down to its skeleton after receiving a lot of damage to the side. Get weird with it. Looking forward to seeing 8-Ball trail videos as well.

Looks good the grill is a little weird to me though. Get a “Ry the Car Guy” logo and throw it on the front. Also not sure what tires you’re going with I suggest Toyo’s or Nitto refrain from BFG they are awful.
I know it's been awhile since you posted this and I'm hoping you can help? How in the heck do I change the driveside motor mount on 2010 Xterra 4wd? Please if you know a simple way would be helpful, it's just hard to get those 2 bolts holding the small L bracket, thank you for all you help in the past

That sounds awesome, makes me wish I did the titan engine instead of the vq40 when me engine was shot. You really should complete the titan swap and do a titan suspension lift. All Dawgs has a new kit for it. Grill looks nice, I just painted over my emblem. Truck bed liner is definitely the way to go. eBay is a good source for engines, got my vq40 with 80k miles for 2k delivered.

What diffs are on there?, seems like a basic xterra and not a pro 4x so you may want to look into diff swaps to get the elocker and since you're there potentially regear to 3.69 or more. There is a frontier guy in BC that found elocker for the front so that could be good too. So check to see if you can put a m226 in the rear and a m205 in the front plus regearing. Im assuming xterras also shared diffs with frontiers.

I'm part way through my tear down and by watching your videos it's been inspiring!! Definitely made me more confident in getting this swap done.
Only hiccup I'm having is I can't get Brennan to answer my calls anymore to get my wiring done 😞. I may try doing it myself but I'm now running into an issue of having a 2010 Titan motor and having a 13 frontier, which makes it a tad bit more complicated. Ry, did you have issues reaching Brennan when asking for support?

Gave me an Idea of Dropping the V8 into a Pathfinder. Presently I had to pull my Xterra Engine and dropped it into the Pathfinder.

Nice work. I’ve enjoyed the series. I am curious, what is the problem with the cooling? I saw the fan blade was close to the radiator, but it was the factory setup on the Pathfinder, so it should be fine, no?
The fan is fine. I really just need to finish it. I want to get the v8 patchy shroud for the fan and i need to install the secondary fan.
@@Rythecarguy I see. If it helps, the Titans ditched the secondary fan somewhere around 2010 or 2011. I think it’s there mostly for air conditioning performance while stopped. Eventually Nissan decided it wasn’t necessary (though I’d still want it). The only thing is, on the VK vehicles they mounted it in front of the condenser (as opposed to behind radiator on VQ) and I don’t think the Xterra/Frontier have the mounting provisions so you may have to get sort of custom with it. Interested to see what your solution is. But at least as long as you get a shroud in there, the clutch fan will keep you cool as long as you need it to. Can add the aux fan at your leisure.

Yes. They make adapter plates that allow for it.

Can you do this with a 2001 Xterra? I think it only really works 2nd gen but wanted to ask.
Yea as far as I know it's second gen only, just because all the wiring is the same and it's a easy switch. 8' sure anything is possible with enough fabrication and wiring but it would not be worth it.

Have you came up with a good solution for the cooling fans and shroud setup? I’ve recently vk swapped my frontier and am still going through options for that.
No, It's annoying because I would really like to use the existing wiring but its designed for a dual speed fan, if I can just find a low profile dual speed then I would try to stuff it between the the trans cooler and the rad. then deal with the shroud later
I ended up ordering a v8 pathfinder upper and lower shroud and it fits perfect. I measured for a fan, I’m gonna put a 10 inch spal pusher on the front of the condenser right behind the trans cooler. I’ll let you know if I run into any issues.
@@mikegeorge6164 sounds good, did you just bite the bullet and go OEM on the shroud and pay the however many hundreds it was for the little piece of plastic? Or did you find a better source?
I went oem, I’m a tech at a dealer so I get pretty good deals most of the time.

I called it an issue but it's really just unfinished. Need to install a shroud and auxiliary fan.
