I’ve broken couple R-180 half shafts. Finally dumped it and roll with M205, so much easier to swap trail side and no longer fear of axle shattering inside the diff. Good stuff with Titan swap, love mine so far

I ran a R180 with my VK56 swap and medium trails and a few hard ones for fun and no issues. Within a year though I went with M205 but with Pathfinder VK CVs because I wanted to keep track width and I went from a trail rig to an overlanding rig. M205 is absolutely worth it, there is even a E-locker out for it now.
Thanks for relating your experience with a "FULL TITAN Swap" I've watched enough videos to realize that the Infinity Qx80 CV shafts were NOT designed for the riggers of wheeling with heavy tires. Your diff swap is the best solution I've seen short of the solid axle swap or buying a jeep and fixing Chrysler's design flaws
And Solid axle swaps are very difficult in these vehicles. There's no cheap way to do it with the way the frame is designed. You can't slap leaf springs on like you could on the older generation Xs
M205s are also found in V8 Pathfinders and you can use the driveshaft from a Pathy as well, it just has to be cut and shortened which is what I did. Also if you're going to 35's make sure you get rid of the original power steering cooler and get one that's much more suitable to steer all that rubber around, you will have to cut and bubble flare the lines but it's quite easy and works much better
Hard to say. Haven't looked at prices of M205s recently and you'd be wasting your money buying used lower control arms. They're not that expensive to buy from someone like Rockauto. Furthermore, regions can greatly affect the cost of a junkyard M205. For example, Alaska which has fewer junkyards would charge a premium and the same may go for Florida which receives higher volumes of 2WD trucks than somewhere with harsher weather like Colorado. Also, if you don't have a Pro4x or Off Road trim Xterra with an automatic transmission, you will probably have to regear your Xterra since the majority (possibly all) M205s have 3.36 or 2.94 gears and not all Xterra did
Good video! I actually run the R180 with my TS, and using the NI-8433 CV axle which you can purchase at any auto parts store. They are almost 3 inches longer than stock Xterra CV axles. I do quite a bit of rock crawling and haven't had any issues. But I also drive like like a grandma on the trails.
Not saying it can't be done. After all I've broken three or four titan axles too. They're just so much easier to change than R180 axles. I hope you never have to change one trailside but if you do, you'll be thinking about me now! 😁
This is good info! Looking on info on doing the titan swap, because I want to run a front locker, just wasn't sure how strong it will last. Where is best place to start looking for a m205?
Thanks for watching. Honestly, I was in Fairbanks Alaska when I did mine so I ended up just buying a brand new one from the dealership. But I would start scouring the junkyards first. The M205 was put in so many vehicles, it shouldn't be hard to find. Just make sure you get the right gears unless you plan to upgrade those like I did.
I don't know if anyone specifically but from what I understand, the case is just stronger. Probably won't make much difference if your not mashing the throttle every chance you get. And as long as you don't live in arctic temperatures. But I can't say for certain. I went with the 3 rib design

I’m brand new to the Nissan community. Just bought a 2010 xterra off road. First thing I did was put Bilstein 6112 on the front with eibach coils and 5100 in the rear. Do I need a different front shock if I want to do a titan swap?
Depends on him much lift. You'd need to measure your rear shocks length or look at the specs if you have that info. You'd likely need to replace the front because of lift and the removal of the front sway bar. You need stiffer springs up front to make up for the lack of away bar. If you really wanted to keep your front springs, you'd have to look into a spacer lift for the front and you may need a Titan UCA too. You'd have to research that because I'm not sure if the upper coil buckets on the X and Titan are the same

@@detroy1234 No. No Xterra was ever equipped with the M205 front differential. Manual Xterras came equipped with the M226 REAR differential which was only available on OFF ROAD/PRO 4X Model automatic Xterras

If your Frontier is an AUTOMATIC, the rear end should be a 3.36 ratio already. If it is a MANUAL, then your rear end is 3.69. The yellow 4WD light is your indicator light showing you have a problem. It doesnt annotate that your in 4WD. Your little picture of tires in your dash is what indicates if your in 4WD. I would stand outside and have someone switch to 4WD and see if you hear the transfer case shifting into 4WD. It would sound like a little electronic whirring sound and a soft click. I doubt your issue is mechanical and its probably electrical. I would check all electronic connections to your transfer case and if you had the suspension drooping when doing the work, check the ABS sensor connection at each front wheel. Its a wire loom that runs down the inside of your spindle. If this became disconnected, loose, or the wires got pulled out of the pins on the connector, your truck will not shift in or out of 4WD. Its happened to me a few times at full droop. Hope it helps
Im guessing your talking a VK56 swap which is often mistakenly called a Titan swap. I have not done that but it's gonna depend alot on what type of engine you get (salvage, rebuilt, new) and how much work you can do yourself. If you Google Off Road Gorilla, they have done it and can give you a lot of info as well as build you a wiring harness that you'll need.

@@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports actually there is 2" spacer on the coil spring coz my pathy modified with 2" lift kit but my issue right now the stock UCA when drive over into those bump it hits to coil spring frame or whatever called is.
Well you can only use the Titan or Armada UCA if you do the Titan swap. You can't use the UCA without the corresponding LCA. And your 2" spacer will not for coilovers used in a Titan swap. It will only work with factory coils

What is the average cost of a titan swap done without a shop and with grabbing a junkyard m205 and junkyard titan arms?

Is it me, or is the voice audio only coming out of the right side?
Seems ok on my stuff but I'm not watching it with stand alone speakers. Just using the laptop. I wouldn't know how to fix it at this point?

Qx80 axles work direct swap and gives the extended axle
