India, known for its ‘Unity in Diversity’, relies on the Census to study this diversity. The Census collects and analyses demographic, social, cultural, and economic data every ten years. Despite wars or economic issues, the Census has always been conducted since India’s independence. However, the 2021 Census, which was due after the 2011 Census, has been delayed due to the pandemic and other factors. It will not occur before the 2024 elections for sure.
But why? Why this change? In this video, I will discuss the importance of the Census and the reasons for its delay, and I will explore the political, economic, and social perspectives of the census.

For context, main abhi 18 ka hua hu, but as per 2011 census (jab main 5 saal ka tha) tab main literate abadi ka hissa nhi tha... To phrase it this way, as per the India's latest census, I am not a part of the literate population
Edit: Literate population would mean the people who were at least 7 years old by 2011, with the ability to read and write... and the 7 year olds of 2011 are 20 year old in 2024...

This video has lots of bullshit, first census is not there because of covid. Second, gov. Is planning census with delimitation of 2026. Third, there is already data collections for NFHS, which is started in 2005 and it's 6th addition will be there in few months and in 2016 central gov. Also started multi- dimensional poverty index that is made by niti- ayog after scraping outdated poverty rate method. But only problem with these data is that it's most part is provided by state gov. And that is why it create room for some errors. Meanwhile, this sarthik is a known congress scum. And caste census will hurt more to regional parties than it will ever hurt to congress or bjp, as it will effect more on obc and create room for more reservation for ebcs. And by the way, on centre level, there are only gen., sc , st and obc( includes ebcs) and on state level it is categorize in five sc ,st , obc , ebc and gen.
I am in my early 20s and have recently started to realize how the state of our nation affects general public and me as an individual.
And I found that good journalism is fairly hard to find, but this channel has really helped me understand and even build and switch perspective on various topics.

As an architecture student it is difficult to maintain accuracy in demographics research for a site. Im wondering how urban planners and city planners place hospitals and other key services without proper census. I believe during times of crisis, it is of utmost importance to have proper demographic data of locations to count on, to develop predictive models to improve the outreach to communities. Covid was all the more reason to have this data at hand.
Technology like GIS and Remote Sensing should also be utilized by the government for digital and accurate records. This spatial data can then be used to for analysis and creating predictive models for the problems stated above
I was seriously unaware that census can help point out what’s going on in each part of the country. But I realised it’s importance now.

I think quota/ aarakchhad to any backward cast would not be given like in neet , jee , civil services etc. Bcz in an entrance where intellect and hardwork matters and a person can take it just cuz of quota doesn't seem fair 😶

Government tried to hide 4 million less population then people pressured government for recalculate the census whom were not calculated
Last census Bangladesh population was 169+ million in 2022 and 171 in 2023

In accordance with the latest census, the quota for EBC has been increased from 18% to 25%; for BC from 12% to 18%; for SC from 16% to 20%; and for ST from 1% to 2%. The latest socio-economic data of different categories will also help the government in targeted welfare schemes to uplift the deprived sections.

The way you explain serious matters so casually is really fantastic.
Because a lots of Sarnas, Dalits n few OBCs might not identify themselves as Hindus. Sarnas want to identify as a separate Sarna religion, Dalits might go towards Buddhism and few OBCs might want to identify with their caste primarily.
Sarnaism is a separate polytheistic religion of 'tribal people' so it is similar but not same or a part of Hinduism so it is alright for them to identify differently from Hindus.
But the Dalits don't deserve reservation if they follow a different religion.

Actually mindboggling! I knew a little bit regarding what census meant but it still hasn't been conducted? When I used to study Social Science and came across datas regarding things which used the census I always thought that why are they using the data from 2011-12 and not recent years, I used to dismiss this concern by assuming maybe the textbooks hadn't been edited yet but holy shit I didn't expect this.
well the census hasnt been because of new parliment and the seats of south india have been reduced as compared to hindhi belt (because in south dmk is majority) which would infact reduced state funds as a result more political instablity and souh would start to feel neglected
please be aware of delimitation of indian parlimant the deshbhakt on youtube have done a great job explaing the topic all in all the india is soon about become more politicaly instable than pakistan

Policy formation, budget allocation, and every major thing revolves around the numbers which are taken from the census report .... I think the big reason might be that
As india gdp is 3.75 trillion dollar and if we try to find per capita if assuming population as 1.5 billion than it is around 2500 dollar
And if we take 1.7 or 1.8 which i think the current population of india will be it would come around 2143 dollar which shows the data gdp per capita decreasing would afect bjp in election

Census has been rocked by politics, plus there is the issue of NRC and CAA. I don't see census happening anytime soon
I have a question though... since everyone has an aadhar card, doesnt the government already know how many ppl there are? And since our bank accounts are linked with aadhar and pan, doesnt the goventment have access to that information as well? What information does the census provide that is not covered by aadhar and pan?

Decrease in fertility rate in most states of india ..
Most shocking one is odisha because fertility rate normally decreses caz of high standard of living but in indian states like odisha snd others they dont have such world class living standards .
I think this is a grave problem like most people are concerned about over population in india but ignore the fact that only few states have above 2 fertility rate where as states like tamil nadu ,karnataka the several etinicity after 50 years might lose a chunk of there population or might even cease to exist caz after seeing japan's people i really feel like this would be good idea and somthing unique as people are concerned about over population so much that they ignoring the fact of decline in fertility rate in several indian states

The only reason I want to see new census is to check how much population peacefully community increased in last 10 or maybe 13 years . I am definitely sure they must have crossed higher than 15% India's population probably 17 to 18 % maybe

And one more thing please make a video on the govt schools in India there situation and recent steps govt had taken to remap the govt school of the local areas again. Due to that some students had left their education.. as they are not financially independent .. hence mid day meal was also the reason that students were sent to those school by their parents .. but there was similar cases in mp also regarding mid day meal scams (like still it's going on) regarding irregularities while making food ... Low quality staples etc .... Please try to cover all that
