That's why congress preferred sc st for reservation in beginning because they were the most oppressed had least resources hence we're expected to benifit least from economic growth. What do the oppressors class believe? Transferring resources is merit. There are some exceptions, but they also receive the same respect from society as the other rich oppressor classes. Around the 1970 ' s government jobs were given on basis of elegibility. So maybe that is why govt jobs were held by mostly upper casts . They always hid their savarna identity. Bengal was not known for its prominent and too obvious castiesm, they saved faces that way. The study revealed in this report is eye opening. There can't be such a huge inequality among we Indians umless the discrimination is instutionalised and practiced for centuries. In a democratic state there is no place for such inequality.

Take example of south korea, yes, there are a few people who have monopoly on wealth but those few people have the same ethnicity, same identity and same culture as that of poor korean. A rich korean belongs to the same ethnic endogamous group to that of poor korean. Problem arises when there are racial and ethnic differences. I got interested in Caste system after watching few videos from India.Here in Pakistan people usually marry in their own Castes in cities and this ratio is much higher in villages.But I don't see any untouchability among different Castes.Here is no problem of Government favouring any specific Castes.

For about 77 years reservation has been given to OBC, SC and ST but why they failed to eradicate poverty and those marginalized groups barely made any progress since independence, why can't we see any progress among SC and ST groups even though they enjoy reservation in every arena of life?? @Chatni on my head nop, that's not true. A child can identify by any of his/her parent's caste. It's their choice. And the fact is who wants to forgo all the govt benefits by taking up a caste, no body! May be in social circle they might but on papers, it's obvious choice. The true idea of being a Brahmin is not whose family they are born in but by their knowledge and sacrifice. Atleast that's what is mentioned in Vedas/puranas. And since they attained great knowledge, they are meant to teach others in the society and considered most noble act. Ved vyasa is a prime example and there are many like that. During British Era, they went a notch further and create a vast divide so as to gain control and systematically deindustrilize india, which they succeeded. History is not what you read in school text books made by communists panel. Truth is far more than that. Yes there were some brahminical hegemony and all that but on a grand era of atleast 5000 years of Indian history, it existed only for mere few hundred years.

The study revealed in this report is eye opening. There can't be such a huge inequality among we Indians umless the discrimination is instutionalised and practiced for centuries. In a democratic state there is no place for such inequality.

As a Brahmin, I have this question for the author of this video and majority of the people who have posted comments here. what is the end result should look like for you when you can say, social justice has been done for the sins of our Ancestors ? Do you want 100% reservation in Government jobs, educational institutions with 100% Tuition free, 90% of the seats reserved in both Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha elections ? What else would make you feel that you have finally got the Justice ? After 75 yrs of so called azaadi, we r finally able to built an actual temple. And the pujari will b one of ours. Haven’t decided yet. But none of us r high caste.

Take example of south korea, yes, there are a few people who have monopoly on wealth but those few people have the same ethnicity, same identity and same culture as that of poor korean. A rich korean belongs to the same ethnic endogamous group to that of poor korean.
Problem arises when there are racial and ethnic differences. Eg, USA, where the wealth inequality is a big factor which leads to crime and other sociological instabilities. Our country is a step ahead of US because equality is written in our constitution. So, we can't ignore caste inequality.

I got interested in Caste system after watching few videos from India.Here in Pakistan people usually marry in their own Castes in cities and this ratio is much higher in villages.But I don't see any untouchability among different Castes.Here is no problem of Government favouring any specific Castes.

@Chatni on my head nop, that's not true. A child can identify by any of his/her parent's caste. It's their choice. And the fact is who wants to forgo all the govt benefits by taking up a caste, no body! May be in social circle they might but on papers, it's obvious choice.
The true idea of being a Brahmin is not whose family they are born in but by their knowledge and sacrifice. Atleast that's what is mentioned in Vedas/puranas. And since they attained great knowledge, they are meant to teach others in the society and considered most noble act. Ved vyasa is a prime example and there are many like that. Lord Ram is a fighter and a kshtriya not Brahman. Those who are good in business are considered vyshya but none of these castes were above or below some other. It represents their profession to an extend, that's all and not determined by which family they were born to or who's their dad is. Atleast that's how during vedic times and is written in puranas. When invaders came, everyone wanted to protect their turf and eventually became the custom we all follow now. During British Era, they went a notch further and create a vast divide so as to gain control and systematically deindustrilize india, which they succeeded. History is not what you read in school text books made by communists panel. Truth is far more than that. Yes there were some brahminical hegemony and all that but on a grand era of atleast 5000 years of Indian history, it existed only for mere few hundred years.

From 1990's ( lalu's era) to till date all the CM of Bihar and most of MP and MLAs are from OBC and SC community.
