More no. of trained officers, forensic teams for a faster and fair preliminary investigation. Judicial reforms: More judges/courts for faster disposal of cases/righ to speedy trial. Also easier access to courts. Prison reforms: Separate prisons for undertrials with basic humans rights of clean toilets/bathrooms, decent food, safe & not 200% overcrowded barracks.(Later for convicts too). I have done an internship under POCSO (DCPCR), i used to manage lots of files of cases like these in the office and was part of a seminar of POCSO as well on the same topic. It is really important to find a mid way out of these strict laws, as it became very difficult for the judges and police as well, in tackling these cases.

Being a doctor in government setup i see these cases very frequently. Relationships gone wrong, disapproval punitive parents, registered as pocso, in case of underage girl. Awareness in this area, especially in boys, is absolutely vital.

One thing that is often overlooked is that India was very isolated culturally from the rest of the world till 1990 after the British fundamentally damaged it, when the economy finally opened and even then integration with the rest of the world picked up after a decade from that. In my opinion, rather than reconsidering the age of consent, a feedback punishment could be applied. For example if a pocso is not proven in any case and the consent was genuine, the appellant could be punished for a false case.
I saw a similar case in Kota of a minor couple having Intercourse. When the girl's family found about it they charged the guy acc to pocso act and not just that, they also blackmailed the guys family for 10 or 20 lakh rupees and threatened them to send the guy to jail. After living in jail for 2 years the guy's family gave the money and got him out But this was very saddening as in a way the girl's parents were selling her virginity for some money😢

I don't think I'm in a position to say anything about the pocso act since we can't actually change the mindset of people today regarding sex and intimacy. But I've seen a lot of relationships going on around me, some even Started during the age of 12 and still continuing. Btw, I am 19 myself. Many of my friends, seniors and classmates were in relationships during the adolescent ages and I've seen them behaving mature and responsible towards their pattern irrespective of their sexes. I've also been subjected to sexual intimacies during late 17th year and took the step to be responsible and accountable for all the things I do, so as a lot many youngsters do today. I have seen the psychology of teenagers as my juniors who have the blood to say they will be loyal and are loyal towards their partners. It's nothing wrong to say that in today's orthodox society, children are not only getting advanced with technology but also with their mental abilities and the nature of understanding stuff quickly. There are exceptional cases I don't want to talk about now, but observing the situation of the society, the Romeo and Juliet law must be implemented and the age of consent, in a ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP must be lowered to 16 or 15 whatever it is required. I have done an internship under POCSO (DCPCR), i used to manage lots of files of cases like these in the office and was part of a seminar of POCSO as well on the same topic.
It is really important to find a mid way out of these strict laws, as it became very difficult for the judges and police as well, in tackling these cases.

It was because most of the Islamists used underage boys to honey trap Hindu girls and either use & throw them once they become pregnant or do forced conversion is one reason......the other reason was the guy who brutally or violently raped Nirbhaya was a minor, so it was public demand that no matter he was minor but court shouldn't have left him out without punishing and Kejriwal shouldn't have gifted him sewing machine to stitch girls cloths, as he can be dangerous for others any day in future too, as he is not punished for his previous crime/sin. Well, you can’t really assume that for all tbh. I’ve seen majority of 16/17 y-o (and basically the mid gen z to gen alpha)and I noticed that they all are sexually hyperactive, unlike the “early” gen z who were like, barely such kind of things cuz pocso act came out when the early gen z was just blooming so the sexual feels were kind of under control. But if you see today, I aint even joking its my personal experience, I went to donate blood to a 14 year old minor who had a blood loss due to late abortion. Her partner was the same age and would tell that they were rich spoilt brats. And I have seen such similar cases (a lot of such confessions on reddit tbh) and would actually tell that “maturity” doesn’t comes with age but with experience.

In my opinion, rather than reconsidering the age of consent, a feedback punishment could be applied. For example if a pocso is not proven in any case and the consent was genuine, the appellant could be punished for a false case.

I don't think I'm in a position to say anything about the pocso act since we can't actually change the mindset of people today regarding sex and intimacy. But I've seen a lot of relationships going on around me, some even Started during the age of 12 and still continuing. Btw, I am 19 myself. Many of my friends, seniors and classmates were in relationships during the adolescent ages and I've seen them behaving mature and responsible towards their pattern irrespective of their sexes. Romeo Juliet law is fine but not reducing of age of consent. Consent doesn't just mean you agree. It means you are taking informed decision. That requires experiencing life, meeting people other than the ones in their immediate surrounding. That's usually not possible for kids.
Lets also not forget that America had tried (and is still trying ) to normalize teenage sex, but now these hurt grown ups (teenagers of the past) are fighting gender wars. Blaming the other gender for using and abusing them.
