Forgot to mention I made $62,130.30 in my first 11 months.
Is that before or after taxes
@@jameshouston4154 before taxes gross pay.
@CCA Nick just remember it only goes up from here. Just put in the work. Go get it
How many hours was that ?
And is it time and a half after 40 hours ?
Hey man I’m just starting and your positivity is great when there is a lot of negativity on UA-cam about CCAs
People just end up in bad offices sometimes but I also see a lot of carriers are soft
I got my CCA job at the office I wanted so I'm happy about that. Manager from my office just called to confirm that I want the job, that I'm aware I might have to lift 70 lbs ( I hope I can!) etc. Was so excited to hear from someone that I got tongue tied & probably sounded like a moron.Just waiting for orientation date.Anyway, I'm very grateful for the job but I gotta say that it kinda sucks that u have to work 12 yrs before u get that top pay. I'm 50, so I might only have 15 yrs of work left. The $ IS still fabulous especially if u don't have a college degree like me & the retirement savings plan sound fantastic! I won't have $500,000 after 15-20 yrs but I'm grateful to get what I can!have Anyway, I'm so happy to get out of deadend secretary jobs that pay nothing & many times no bennies + having to spend a fortune on work clothes! I've been trying to get into the USPS for 25 yrs & so glad I'm FINALLY in! Sorry for ling msg
Lifting 70 lbs never happens. Even if it did, they’d just give it to someone else.
How’s it going?
I can't emphasize take advantage of TSP immediately because Post office will match your contributions. I know a carrier who retired with over $500,000 in his account.
I can believe that. I worked with plenty of those money hungry greedy hogs. They missed out on life and their kids growing up. They used to even fight over the Overtime. That was never for me.
We’ve had a few retire at over $1M
@MissX33 Yeah it's different having a 401K retirement plan than spending evert waking hour hogging up overtime and your kids never see you and you never attend any of extracurricular activities like the guys I worked with.
Don’t forget 13 days off sick leave , 13 days off annual leave , 11 paid holidays off, that’s almost a month off work every year guaranteed and the annual leave and sick leave increases to 20 days each after 3 years and more after 15
So 50 days off paid or almost two months paid after year 3!!!!
Suffer the first few years and get that RETIREMENT route
Or get a easier/better job now and don’t have the security or comfort later.
Sometime it’s better not to think and just do and let the universe unfold as it should.
I just got hired as a CCA this video is motivation for me .Thank you
My gross pay is always over 3500.00 🤷♀️. Not peak. Never work over 12 hours. As a CCA.
But see....everyone says they want the money but when they get in...they complain lol. People want money without the grind, hard work grit grind hussle and bustle 🤷♀️😭😭😭😂
This generation in a nutshell
@@MailmanNick I agree
Haven’t made anything less than 2k net pay in a while. I love this job. A lot of regulars don’t know how good they have it.
Most don't appreciate what they have until its lost or gone 🤷🏾♂
I appreciate it because I had to suffer a long time.
Giving me hope. All I’ve read is bad reviews about this job and I start soon.
Thank you Nick! Real inspiration fam, I’m glad to be apart of the USPS family
People at my office have three cars including teslas and Porsches
That's a perk of the job!
Poor bastards! We all drive Ferraris at my office.
Iam a retired 33yr CCA ioved the job I've been retired 6yrs
If you’re a hard worker you’ll love making money as a cca but there’s drawbacks if you have a family. I definitely made money during the Christmas season averaging 30 hrs OT a WEEK. Shutout to my supervisor Chris in FL office as well my manager Tony.
Taxes fucking suck please trump get elected and take off taxes for ot cuz this ain’t it
Start orientation tomorrow, can’t wait. Thank you for all of you videos. They take away a lot of anxiety about a new career.
Feel free to ask any questions
I'm 4 days in. Fu@k this job. I spent 3.5 months as a collector at the main plant. I requested to be a route runner. They sent me to a station and I regret it. As soon as I get my CDL, I'm outtro. It's not worth it. If I was just delivering mail, I'd stay. It's everything else (that falls into bachelo-level managing of all things related to mail).
How long did you application take from start to finish?
you can make great money at the po, problem is you have no free time or life to enjoy.
That comes later. Without the post office I'd be stressing about paying my bills
This is an excellent video. I say this because you're presenting the long game. You just slapped every short-sided person in the face with a dose of reality, and motivation to look at the bigger picture. You can be proud of the work you put in on creating this video. Good job, and thank you!
Been with the po since 05. These past few years have been crazy with OT. I am the only ODL in my office. Since making top step over 5 years ago, I always make more money than our MPOO, postmaster, and supervisors. You will get there soon enough. Keep up the good work!
We had a few guys make $120K delivering mail last year. Lots of new hires so more like 90 this year.
Congrats Nick. Thanks for all your videos. I just got done with orientation and I have my driving tests this week. I am really looking forward to my career at the USPS. I appreciate you.
I appreciate you
Did you take the 473 or 474 exam before your orientation? I just had my fingerprints last week, I’m still waiting.
@@shara8666 I took the 474....Nick would know this better than me but the 473 is no longer being given for the CCA's. I waited almost 6 weeks after finger prints for my orientation date but it was during the holiday season. Be patient and best of luck.
@@shannonk.6528 Thank you so very much
I just got the email for driving record check. Knocked the accessment out of the park with a 98/100 somehow lol.. Just impatiently waiting 😆😆
that would pay off my car
Thinking about becoming a mail carrier once my wife and i move up to Idaho in March.
Your videos have really helped. Appreciate your outlook and perspective.
Other peoples comments and videos had me worried it wasnt going to be as good a job as i thought.
Your videos have helped clear all that up for me.
Made regular last yr. Was an rca for 17 yrs. Had plenty of 3k checks. Running rtes all over hells half acre.
I start next month as a CCA. I’m excited and praying I pass the driver training. I have goals to reach and trying to rebuild.
Drug test?
Honestly so grateful I came across this video, everyone else is saying it’s not worth it but you’re real about it. I have orientation tomorrow so I hope I love it and can make this my career.
If you're willing to work the money is there. On pace to hit $80k this year.
Dude, you must be working 60+ hrs every week.
@@willaerley7140 65 hours a week nothing too crazy. Our office isn't hurting as much as others
How do you like it so far? You still in US PS?
@@MailmanNick true. Why people complain about 65hr? When it is less they demand for more hr when more they complain about it is too much. I do two jobs and total sometimes 65 70 hr. So instead of working in two jobs 65 hr I would rather work for USPS and make same amount of hr.
Definitely tough it out at the PO and you will be making more than some with a college degree. Remember No such think as easy money you have to work for it
Like I said, easily over $100K
Love your videos Nick, USPS should hire you as a motivational speaker. Well Done!
They should
Gross $3,921.92 after tax $2,742.99 damn that's a lot of tax take off
It sucks man
Thank you so much for the info I'm 53 years old I've been doing minimum wage jobs for a long time on and off raising my family. My son is a freshman in high school. I want to go back to work full time. And make some real money tired of living paycheck to paycheck. You sound so happy many blessings to you.
A lot of hours of hard work 60-70 hours a week but I don't have to stress about money
I’ve tried to tell people hard work pays off with the PO. The problem is these young bastards want everything handed to them. I’m like you can’t even show up on time for your shift. What make you think your worth 25 an hour. I’ve been here 2 years and I bought back my military time. Doing that increased my retirement benefit stuff, I moved up a few steps in pay, so now I’m at mid 20’s per hour for my pay. Even without OT I still make a nice check every 2 weeks.
The entitlement generation
@@MailmanNick My boot camp DI’s would completely mop the floor with this entitlement generation.
What do you do when you have doctor appointments?
Call off
12 years sheesh
Uncle Sam is gonna love you, when they take the taxes out of your pay 😂😂😂😂😂
Illinois is the worst with taxes
Hey thanks🙌🏼
Maybe I need to become a cca again lol...its the weather for me
Just prepare for it lol
Thanks for the videos Nick hit some good points on here. I hear a lot of regulars don't put in for OT once they make regular guess its there choice then. Do you get a set 1 day off week as reg + another day off on amazon sundays total 2 off week once make req? With all cost of living adjustments, and top pay after 12yrs what are mail carriers looking at hourly as of today. Thanks bro appreciate your videos.
Over $34 an hour
Thank you for making these videos, i appreciate the clear picture:) newly hired cca, so, i love the support and encouragement.
Keep grinding
I start orientation on Monday. I live in a small town with only 2 routes. I am sure I will be loaned out to nearby towns a lot. It is all about the end game, you got that right. I have 13 years of military service I want to buy back once I am eligible.
Thanks man this helps a lot!!
I claim “exempt” on line 7 of IRS Form W-4. It will block the federal tax out of your paychecks. Fuck Uncle Sam! LOL
That is awesome!! Congrats!! I’m so so excited I start academy tomorrow. I really enjoyed my behind the wheel training, shadow day, and even orientation. Everyone is so nice at my office and I’m just really excited to start working and getting some 🤑
It's overwhelming at first but fight through it you'll get better and learn.
You’re starting at a great time, peak season is dying out but still enough work to shape you up for the rest of the year. By the time peak season hits next year you’ll be comfortable, and have the ability to ride out the storm!
@@DONTCRASHJET good to know thank you!!!
@@MailmanNick I’m definitely expecting that but I’m going to try not to be too hard on myself! Thanks for your tips and advice!
Do you get paid for training and orientation?
The Day to Day Grind, just put our heads down and GRIND IT OUT !
Congrats Nick, good for you because you are single, but I am married and I don't know if it's worthwhile.
If I was married I'd be trying to work more
What is an average check I can expect for working at the post office. Every 2 weeks
Depends how much you work. Expect to take home $2k at least every 2 weeks if you're working over 60 hours to start.
And I'm sure you worked 7 Days a Week and lots of hours every Day to get it and probably got treated like 💩. Don't worry Buddy it's only gonna get worse. The more you do the more they will just keep adding to you especially if your a Runner.
The pretty goods 😂
How many days you work each week
6-7
Thanks for the information! I have a Bachelor’s degree but still can’t find a decent paying job. I don’t mind putting in the the work. I really wasted my time and money on a degree. I should have applied sooner.
Pretty brown eyes
@@taurusl7014 thank you
I start in a couple weeks, here in arizona there starting me out at 18 an hour, how are you getting 2k a check? lol
$18 as a city carrier assistant? I don't think that is right. Definitely at least $19.33 and I work 60 hours a week the overtime and double pay adds up.
@@MailmanNick I hope so because my warehouse job I make 20 an hour and I worked 16 hours a day for 5 years
Aa cca do you get vacation hours?
You get annual leave
Going from a ft pizza delivery driver to CCA. I’m a workaholic and I can’t wait to start. My orientation starts July 25th. Hustle and grind baby.
Do you get 2 days off a week?
Lucky to get 1 day off a week. 2 days off a week never happens lol.
@@MailmanNick wow that's crazy I was offer the job I applied but now am thinking hard, I dont mind working hard but I need my 2 days off.
@@scarface326216 then I'd find something different to be honest
I'm coming back to the post office as a CCA and I can't wait. I love this video, it's time young people start talking about money and how to make it.
I know some city carriers working 70 hours a week
Tim Poole is better as a mailman 😂
Lol I get that a lot on UA-cam but I'm way taller than him
I needed to hear this. I thought about resigning as a CCA and going back to the education field. I’ve been so overwhelmed by everything over the past week.
That's normal. Give it time
I consider quitting everyday because of triple digit heat and freezing rain. I held in there because I like nice vacations, new homes, new cars, job security and great benefits. I officially retired after 35 1/5 years
How's it going for you now a year later Zach?
@@fortyandlifetogo4156 I resigned 4 months ago because of a traumatic encounter. I was brutally attacked by a pit bull on my route. The injury I sustained from the attack required me to get stitches in my arm. After having worker’s compensation for a week, I decided that it was time for me to move on with my life. Now, I’m a pharmacy technician.
@@zachbakaitis248 you sue?
Damn... I'm only 2 months in and biggest week has been 63 hrs. Most the time around 54hrs.
Wait until peak season
I just was hired for a CCA in a small town in south ga, the town has less than 5000 people and only has 2 routes! I was told I would work 4 days a week...orientation starts tomorrow, what can I expect working in a small town? I have been told there a lot less headaches and maybe can be a easier job. What's your thoughts?
Probably no hours and less routes to worry about. 2 routes is tiny
Keep grinding, focus on retirement while your young so it's a habit. You're doing awesome.
Got a savings already while still paying my bills
Awesome thanks for posting. Really looking forward to those checks. RCA
Hey question I know this video is 2 years old . But do you still work usps ?
Yes I'm a regular now on the route now
Ok because I'm about to start cca in nyc im not sure what city you work in
@@Flamin-Topics just outside Chicago
Thanks Nick. Keep the videos uploaded
“ You’re not going to be a CCA for life “ i agree Im getting ready to start here in NYC. Definitely something for the moment that’s worth holding onto as a job/career.
People don't have patience. Every union job you start off as an apprentice
A month in and I have only worked over 40 hours once. Don't think working 6 days a week is worth it for a check that's basically $500/$600 a week. Maybe it's the time of year or I am in just a really well staffed area. I could go back to bar tending and make this kind of money in 2 nights. Frustrating because I want to stick it out for the retirement aspect and I really enjoy the job too.
People must show up... I make at least $1100 a week
@@MailmanNick yup. We have good management and good carriers it seems. Even the regulars barely get 50 hours being on the overtime list. Nobody works over 9/10 hours in a day. Oh well. I’ll see how it goes. I did just buy a double shoulder strap because my shoulder has been sore for weeks!
hi nick I been watching a lot of videos on your channel thank you for all your information you share with your subscriber. In 2 weeks, I got my orientation for CCA driver, thanks to you videos I found a lot good contend, you have new subscriber from Connecticut, happy new year 2024🎆
Really motivated me I applied to two cca positions in my town thx
As a CCA can u reach top pay? Or do you need wait until you get a.route/go full-time then u can reach top pay?
Everyone will reach top pay eventually
At my station unless I want to work 7 days I never have got over 46 hrs a week been there almost two months in fact I am sent to different towns all the time
Some offices are hurt more than others. I've only been under 48 hours I think twice in 4 years
With all you earn it goes to social security. That’s good. By the time you retire should get a good pension. That’s almost a RN pay. I’m in backgrounds right now.
Thanks for this Nick! I just got offered a CCA position in the Tampa area so this helps a lot !
That's great.. some people is making that in a month..
typo isn't making that in a month
1:05 read that contract again. Top pay should be reached in 38 months not 12 years. 😐
This is for city carriers

This is exactly what I’m trying to explain to my wife..have bills to pay and some debt to pay off..have other job offering $19hr and only 40 hrs a week within 10 years maxed at $26 with no Insurance till 6 months that will cost probably $200 a paycheck. It’s all simple math.
I’m not afraid to work and have always worked in the weather. So ready to be a CCA..Its been 8 weeks since my fingerprints and HR responded back with a update that there still waiting for background to clear. For all of you that are waiting!
With all the overtime we work, it's like making $25/$26 an hour basically to start.
I’m in the same situation brother it’s been 8 weeks since I did my fingerprints I called and they still haven’t gotten my fingerprints back and passed yet hopefully we can both hear something soon good luck bro!
Thank you I did my fingerprints on April 19th and in still waiting to hear something back
Is the pay similar or the same for Mail Handlers?
I'm not 100% sure
praise the lord brother they hand out overtime like candy in bigger offices
Perfect video! That's what I been looking for man! I just got a conditional offer a few days ago. I finished filling out paperwork. I'm excited to start. I'm also a single guy. Just me. Job offer is also for CCA.
Good job brother 💪🏼
I just started training today. LLV-izzle training tomorrow 😄🤙🏼
Thank you for the motivation.
Sounds GReat I get to see a comma in my check Whoa looking forward to it Xo
What is a CCA????? And RCA???
City Carrier Assistant and Rural Carrier associate. Basically an apprentice mail carrier
What's the pay for Mail Processing Clerk? Is that a good position?
I'm not sure and go for it
How many years does it take to get top pay

Look at the whole picture… it is awesome!!!
We’re you working 10 days straight?
I was working a lot yeah
Thank you Nick👍👍👍
Is $34 your top out pay? How much is your pay after being a regular?
Yes without overtime
thank you for all your positivity, motivational and inspirational videos!
Turned over 2020 biggest check so far was net pay $3500+
Hell yeah
Hey nick what’s the top out pay at post office
$36
Do you receive extra pay for working 12-14 days straight?
More penalty pay lol
Hey nick I was wondering which is better CCA or RCA ?
CCA has better benefits and they make more money
😳... I hope so.
Thanks for the video. I have a question for you. What do you think is better, CCA or MHA?
I don't know much about MHA
You had to work crazy hours to get that much also most cca won't start at 34.00 hourly
All CCA's don't start at top pay. It's a union pay scale you put in your time
You have to keep in mind the location. What state are you in? I'm in VA so the cost of living might not be the same ,if your in New York
