I've worked for 30 years at the USPS. Started at age 35 as a PTF clerk. It is different now then it was back then so I understand what you're saying. My time there had some glitches, but overall I stuck it out. I now have retired with a OK pension. You will never be rich, but it did pay the bills. I was not a carrier which is now a lot more difficult job then I had working in a large distribution center. As i built up seniority. The job became easier and easier. All depends on your location and the supervisors. Good luck to you Adam.
💯. That’s real. Good for you and congrats on the retirement. We all ate here bc we want answers but I am very thankful to the ones who came before me to share any , any knowledgeable or experience or insight
I give you props man
One of the hardest jobs man
Congrats on your retirement and the pension but your probably Rich with 30 years the savings plan is pretty good with that much time….. enjoy it you deserve the best now
@@kaizersoze2606 Thanks. Retired for 5 years now. Not rich, but secure.
I’m willing to bet anyone receiving a pension it is no more than 500 a month
I'm 4 days in. Fu@k this job. I spent 3.5 months as a collector at the main plant. I requested to be a route runner. They sent me to a station and I regret it. As soon as I get my CDL, I'm outtro. It's not worth it. If I was just delivering mail, I'd stay. It's everything else (that falls into bachelo-level managing of all things related to mail).
The post office finally listened. I just got hired on as a ptf. I just finished my 2nd day in orientation. They told me after my 90 days probation I’ll be a regular without a route yet.
PTF is a CCA with sprinkles, PTF still have to work on Saturdays and sundays.
@@MsTellitlikeitis48WithTheTea but PTF starts off with higher pay
PTF you start accumulating your FERS service and get federal benefits from day 1. It’s much better than CCA and you are mandated to go regular after a certain period of time. If you go regular and don’t have one specific route you may go T6 and have a different route everyday but it’ll be the same every week. Hang in there.
You worked as a cca for a yr. Be very proud that u made it that far. 👏
Thank you brother!!
But if you got 5 days break in service thats Good , that does not mean you are fired
@Borivoje had I know man it’s just the system erases you from everything and you are basically off the books for that 5 day. So the guys I work here just say you are getting fired lol
He is not fired this is misunderstanding, maybe his English is bad he didn’t understand supervisor or postmaster . CCAs are hired for 365 days (year) after that employee get 5 days break in service and than returning to work
@@bojan80 thank you because that confused the shit outta me
Good Luck really great person you are , and me too I am 50 years old with 3 kids and my wife I need to enjoy being with my family. Again good luck
Thank you brother! Enjoy your time with your fam
You was on furlough Union Contractual “Break”, I’m sure you’ve been back to work since you’ve posted this video
Its called a break in service to see if your essential for the company. You were not fired lol😅
Take a shot every time he says "grinded it out" lol
That’s not
Being fired …. It seems more like mandatory break or vacation, (like a truck driver having required 8 hours of rest per night , in order to avoid falling asleep while driving .. etc… )
I have one question. I have a holddown for long time because the regular went to a medical leave. Now my one week break it’s about to come ( 1 year ) when I come back I am still at my holddown. I asked my union guy he says yes it’s still mine. What it’s your thoughts?
Good question 🤔
It the Stewart told you yes. I don’t understand what more you want
When you go on Furlough, you can not claim the holddown, because you are off the clock (out of the system), any one senior to you can take that holddown from you. If the regular come back from medical leave, you lose the holddown.
No he keeps he opt even if he goes on break for the one year break.
i got fired after a month lol postmaster didn't like me i got bit by a dog 2nd day and got a flat tire and that was enough to get packing what a waste of time for real worst job ever
Unemployment checks will be nice, right?
lol you got fired?! You must have been pretty terrible. It's hard to get fired with the PO.
Grinding it out, how much money do you make in a month?
How is your CCA situation? Are you regular ?
Guys whats ptf i know cca is basically city carrier assistant also do you spend most of your shift alone or with other workers?
Alone
Part time flex
Man dude i just started im scared
USPS sucks, they don't give you full time work when you're CCA; They hire you for one city, and they send you to another. In my case, if I want to work, I have to drive an hour from my city to the city where I can work. I'll give up this …
Is dis racial profiling?
I respect mail carriers, san diego
Usps guy renewed my p.o.box- gave me docs stating " 1/2 of ur money refunded, after 3 months( vhen change of address"
Pero, D p.o.box( usps) has been fraudulent( invalid phones given) my change of address reported, but my money is being withheld. Dey not honoring their docs( aka, rigged)
Thx GOD, i got my passport & license.
Praise d lord.
I applied and got offered a position. I have 3 days to accept or decline. Recommendation/opinions?
Did you accept ?
@miltonramos7478 yes, I just made full time regular close to almost 3 years
@@miltonramos7478 yes I did. I worked for a month. I had no set schedule. I'd get a txt every morning to find out if I was working or not.
I turned down other jobs thinking USPS would be a good job but left because I have bills to pay. I'd go back in a heartbeat. I loved walking 15-18 miles
Question what happened if I fail the LLV training ?
They make u take it again usually after that probs just don't want you
I start my orientation on the 30th I'm trying 2 make $$$
@ DOING IT you got it bro. Make it through the grind you’ll be good man
Salute
@ Curtis D thanks man!!
My dude, next video be mindful of the hand slaps
Taylor Nancy White Maria Jones William
How many miles do you usually walk A-day ?
im a cca in ma. i avarage 12 to 15 seems to be the average for a reg. or cca
About 15
12-15 easy. Yesterday was an eye opener for me.
I’m a carrier from California my route is all walking I walk 12-14 miles a day
Bout 12-15 and I’m in Michigan
Can you have pepper spray?
Yes. They issue you some (5 spray cans). Lol
@@benignobrionesiii oh ok
Are you a believer in Christ?
yes
BS to get views
I can make 75k or 80k per year in cca because there is a union there and the lady gives you all the overtime a friend says that Birds only works 30 hours a week I start next week but I still don't know what to do because I work in PepsiCo and I don't want to take a wrong step
You did not tell us what happens after your five days of getting terminated. Do you get rehired for another year or are you just waiting and hoping they call you back.
Yes your not fired really so
He has hard time, you know (hand slapping), explaining anything, you know (hand slap), it's hard, you know (hand slap).
@DAMIX007 lol u and I are on the same page (hand slap)
@@DAMIX007 why you trippin? (hand slap) i think he's regular (hand slap) no what im sayin? (hand slap) feel me?(hand slap)
Thought you actually got fired. Terminated. Showed the door. Given your walking papers. Not the case at all, smh.
You didnt get fire. You forfill your 360 day obligation with a gauranteeeeee!, like Charles Barkley. I thought i was going to hear a story
I like that man lol. Im just glad I made it through in my year here I seen 10 cca quit right at the beginning before they even left the academy
@@adventuresofadan5037 i just applied for CCA. Do they give at least one day off a week. For the Academy, did you go home daily ? Reason i ask the second question because i was motivated to applied for TSA (airport X ray security job), but when they said i had to travel to another state for 5 weeks to 2 months that change my mindset.
O shoot man. I’m not sure how to answer that 2nd question only reason is my academy was local to me. But usually it’s only 1 week (5 days). They usually do give at least 1 day but they can work you up to 13 days but if you get a cool supervisor they will give 1 a week man.
I’m a CCA from Texas. I’m on my 5 day break and I noticed I couldn’t login to my liteblue. So after your 5 day break was over, how were you able to start over with your liteblue login and direct deposit setup?
Did you figure it out?
I started in 2004 at $17.17 as a ptf. Why is it still so low?
CCA is a bunch of balogna sandwich. They should cut the bs and hire us with a chance of keeping the job
Young Karen Martinez Nancy White Patricia
Hernandez Barbara Williams Lisa Miller Edward
Perez George Hall Brian Walker Patricia
Wants to hear himself talk you know he hits his hands together too much
So I’m from west coast as well they are moving so slow on orientation been fingerprinted and had job offer RCA since 11/12/21 accepted job offer for CCA and declined previous RCA offer 12/1/21..HR said there still waiting for my background on 1/14/22..
Congratulations brother!!
Continue watching it man. Just wait on the email I waited 7 months man. Some people wait 2-3 others 5. But for me took me 7 months I was in the offer phase for at least 2-3 months
Me too I’m Az I know it’s gonna be hot AS MYFCQA
@@jfros9794 OK WAIT, I went through the site walk through, and Now Im waiting for orientation.. they said 3 to 5 weeks. is that what they said to you, but it was way longer?
Just finish my 3 days orientation, tomorrow be getting train on the LLV and 2 ton! Im excited, hoping I can pick up casing and routes fast. Hired on for CCA
Are you OK right now? Do you still as a CCA?
@@carolinehuang23Prob not
They would never train me on a 2 ton, ever.
@carolinehuang23 I made regular in 4 months and got a retirement route!! Life been good!!
@TJDW Yeah I only driven it two times since I been hired on. Coming on 2 years
So I didn’t get fired then,???? I’m confused
Congrats on your brake and service! I passed my driving test today lets go!
@ Jonathan Garcia thanks man! You got this man
Appreciate it man. I am married and we have two little a boys. So to me resignation or termination is not an option. Goal is to make it to regular. That being said its grinding season.
I feel that man your in that same boat as me.
BREAK not "BRAKE"
@@m.j.c.6969 ummm ok… 🥱
the worst part about the post office are the people working there. too many bad attitudes. i got into a couple of fights. always defend yourself and resign if necessary. you can always apply to another station in the future
You're not fired You're lay off for a week with pay if you have annual leave you still get paid it's like your on vacation pretty much
CCA position shouldn't even exist I was hired right to PTF was a ptf for 6 months before I became regular
Good for you Aden
If your union it is very hard to get fired. I mean that all depends on what you did during your time with the post office.
How was delivering mail in your time can you explain i here that a lot from older people
Not worth it all
I quit my 3rd day lol 😂
Treat you like a slave and the trucks have no ac.
i got fired for merely shitting on a supe's desk. very unfair
I dnt have a good supervisor
I hear that every where, they are hard to come by. I just stay low key man for the most part
I started as a PTF and am now regular after 2 years knowing now what i know i would NEVER start as a pse or cca or rca.. you get used and abused with no gaurentees and would definitely use and abuse my own vehicle.. take. A lesson and hours garenteed at any of those positions is only 32.. but if you can get in anyways even as a janitor take it once your in your locked and movement within is easier.. but beware if your a good worker they give you more work cuz the lazy muthaf@%*€☆ dont get reprimanded for being lazy cuz they give you there work
You ain’t lying
A lifestyle. Incorrect usage of the word.
You're going to make regular for sure
Wait so are you really saying your on Vacation and not actually fired?
I got lost too
Lmfaoooo you got me
@ Tom Ekeler lol. Yeah man the regulars at my station would ask me what are you going to do when your fired lol after your year.
Dang you got fired on your day off
When we getting an update video?
Did you get fired or did you take a break?
I'm 60 years old and just got offered CCA...
Do older guys do these jobs??
Yes.
I couldn’t imagine doing it at 60 years old. I’m not even 40 and my body is always in pain. Most folks that are regulars in my station have had some sort of surgery on their shoulders or feet. Try to get a mounted station with no park and loop routes.
@@MurdamittenG Boi. I echo this comment !!! To add , because mgmt intentionally works the mess outta CCAS
What state you in my brother ??? An why you say ur fired if you on a 5 day brake ???
Lol because they can fire you in this period man and not bring you back.
@@adventuresofadan5037 so you don’t know if they bringing you back ?
@@adventuresofadan5037 if you don’t mine me asking what state you in ? Cause I got my orientation next Saturday an I’m in Brooklyn ny
Yeah man. They are bringing me back for my 2nd run. I’m out in the west coast man
@@adventuresofadan5037 ok nice .. well I been studying all the steps for a cca an watching every one Jay h an cca nick an a few more an even you to see if I could pick up some clues an stuff .. cause I got a week from now next Saturday I start so .. Wtf is a cca
City carrier assistant
👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸
Got my 5 days in mid may! I got a decent amount of AL (I haven't used any). Bout to just cash out I guess
@Lejon Brames nice man. I was told to use some because I guess they tax pretty good when they cash you out.
@@adventuresofadan5037 yea thats what I heard too. Thanks man
Greetings. Can you request time off for vacation as a cca?
@@diddyboppinnita1275 I did. Your technically allowed but I heard it's hard to get it approved in some offices as a CCA.
@diddyboppinnita1275 every 10 hours up to 40hrs in a week u earn an hour of annual leave, If u don't have leave and ask off far in advance they'll work with u. U can also call out up to 3 days in a row without a doctor note
I'm confused, after the year they just let you go?
Your technically off the books for the USPS. But that is part of the hiring term so for example if you worked your 360 day and get the 5 day break in service but there is not much work they can let you go. But you do have priority to being hired over others that are barely applying. Also you can be let go due to many disciplinary actions
I had to look up what the five day break from service. You should probably explain what it means to people.
@ M.J Carey my bad man. Usually everyone that applies for the job will be notified on the application that says you will be hired on for 360 calendar day with a 5 day break in service.
When did PTF start getting 40 guaranteed? Or did I hear that wrong
Depends on the office. I’m a PTF doing 55 hours a week. The supervisors give me pivots to get me to 8 if I am under time on occasions when we have a light day though.
Dude. .it depends on the state and city.
And you will be notified about how short the staff is and how much overtime you get. It's insane.
Not easy job
To become one do you have to pass a drug test? Or just the driving test?
I just got my orientation haven't been drug tested
I have heard a lot of people haven’t been drug tested since the pandemic.
Congratulations bud
Thanks man!
I accepted an offer for PSE Sales & SVCS… on December 17,2021, still waiting for orientation day.
Nice man an congrats. I feel like some of the new hires I asked the process has been like 5-7 months in total. I know only a few where it was like 2-3 months.
I accepted a position on the 01/24/22 I have a start date on 02/14/22 it just depends
@shiv’s life Congratulations!
Jorge did you start PSE ? I am PSE 5 months , few weeks ago they cut hours they only giving us 40 hours a week
@@bojan80 I was a Pse but I kept applying
Isn't it a conflict of interest, what company has its own union, paying their own employees to represent union members paying monthly $60 union dues, gaining no money for winning grievances, when you can, for free, file an EEO within 45 days of Usps offenses, winning up to $300,000. for discrimination and up to $4 million for retaliation?
Usps union is complicit with Usps management, practicing patterns of racism, retaliation against whistleblowers, also discrimination and retaliation against injured on duty disabled employees! See McConnell vs Usps, Pittman vs Usps, Glover vs Usps, and many, many more cases for decades!
Past 5 years Usps paid out $5,631,795. for sexual harassment.
Exercise your legal rights under federal protection Laws, No Fear act of 2002, prohibited personnel practices, due process, equality act of 2010, civil rights act chapter of 7, rehabilitation act of 1973 (504), and disability act.
CYA!!!
And they have no-strike clause policy. What good is a union if it can't go on strike?
My advice... Forget about being a mail carrier. Look into maintenance. Start off as a custodian. The workload is night and day difference. You're a regular right off the bat. And you can make more money by going up in levels to the mechanic positions. 🪙🪙
