- Today i'm preparing for the Nurburgring in my manual Porsche 991 GT3! It's been a while since i've driven a manual car on a track and my upcoming trip to the Nurburgring will be the first time taking my own car on the infamous circuit - so today is all about getting ready for it!

Gosh. Track driving a GT3. GT3 gets loaded up and Mr JWW goes home in a GT2RS. That is living! 👍

No criticism of your driving in any way shape or form but I gather on this occasion there would be nothing to see as electronically rev matched?
Would like to see this too, although no camera in the footwell on the ring and James claimed he was not using the auto blip. But in this video I never see his right leg moving like I have in other peoples videos to blip the throttle, unless he does it in his own unique way. I for sure can’t blip the throttle without my whole leg moving. Also you can hear James’s Rev matching is very very good and very very consistent, I’m not denying he can’t do it, I guess he’s just very bloody good at it.

Never really been a fan of the 911-series for some reason, but I really dig the Cayman platform... and boy that 718 GT4 / Spyder! I could do with one of them!

I drive a little Fiesta ST on track. I am almost always the slowest car on track. But the thing is track days are not races. I am still having just as much fun and testing my skills as everyone else.
I spent years making excuses for not going on track and i want to reach out to else that is doing the same. Take your car, make sure its in good working order and get out there! Seriously, do it now, no more excuses, no more fear of being a beginner, just get out there!
Wrap your GT3 in the Rothmans livery of the 911 RSR from the 2018 Lemans GTE PRO, just like Tony did in the GT3 RS with the pink pig!!

You have to commend whoever specced that 285.220,00 € base price GT2 RS with a 3570 € paint job, a 3034,50 € interior upgrade, the 17.850 € Weissach-package, probably numerous other optional extras like the 273,70 € colored seat belts, but NOT the 119 € 90l fuel tank upgrade. Job well done!

Have to say that as absolutely stunning as that car is, the spec being perfect imo, the red stripe with the yellow accents is a real pain to my eyes and OCD 🤣

Oh how I wish I lived near bigger tracks. My closest one is still an hour away, and only 1.3 miles, with 8 turns. Typically, just over a minute to lap it, maxing out just under 200kmh at the end of the straight. I need to come to the UK/Europe..
You drove your old gt3 at Anglesey right? I'd be interested to know what the lap time difference between the manual and pdk is if you have times for both?
I don't think I've ever seen anything about motorcycles on your channel. Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion on them? I am both a rider and a driver, i feel they go hand in hand.

One could only dream of comparing these 2, but how epic would a MANUAL track day special be with a 911 GT1, 997 GT3 RS 4.0, and a 997 GT2 RS. toss the 991 in with a manual too, quite curious to see the fastest manual Porsche on track.

I hope you weren’t trying to pretend you were doing heel and toe because it’s clear you have auto blip on because it only ever blipped as you put it into gear which is how the system works, apart from that, sick video

Does it auto rev match? And if yes, how fast can you let the clutch without it braking the rear wheels or even blocking them? :P
I thought you were changing gears way too early when on track. Sounded like 5.5 - 6k rpm. And holding low rpm through the turns.

In the 991 I'm torn between the manual and PDK, as the latter really let's you take advantage of the engines last thousand rpm more. That said, manuals are fun.

How many miles on a tank?
DCT is faster no question but Manual is so much fun and more engaging. Manual is better for fun canyons and such. For pushing it on track DCT is king. I want both so I miss nothing
Do you get trophies at the end of a track day's for a fastest lap? I don't think so. Manual is more fun on a track, *If you know how to drive

Auto-blip always off! No point in the manual otherwise 😜

Ahh was hoping you had got a few words in with tony in this video.
Train and learn the track on a simulator. Assetto Corsa, iRacing, have a laser scanned version of the Nordschleife.
Trust me, you will not regret it. I went on the Nordschelife for the first time 2 years ago after many laps done on simulators... Just after two corners I felt at "home".
If you're interested I can share the video I recorded that time.
I assume he knows that the black GT2RS belongs to one of two of his biggest competitors in PPF Industry :P
