Driving My Porsche Cayman 987 On The NURBURGRING | Worth The Risk?

- Well today is the day, the day I take my beloved Porsche Cayman 987.1 S onto the Nurburgring. This is not my first time here Infact it’s around my 6th lap of the track, this 12 mile circuit is not one you can learn quickly tho. I was extremely nervous about taking my little Cayman S out onto the track, I didn’t need to be but the ring should be respected and a few pre lap nerves should be expected.
Is it worth the risk? Well in this video I show you my complete lap. (Not timed but you can work it out) I think you will be able to tell from my reaction it’s a blend of fear and fun to drive this incredible track.

Really enjoyed the lap mate. I know what you mean about watching out for others. Thats the main problem especially when it’s busy. People come up behind you going at such a pace it’s hard for them to deviate off their line and I was worried about being hit last year when I visited. Then you’ve got the insurance nightmare if you do get hit, who’s to blame and the return to the UK etc, oh and the barrier repairs and recovery. All this is going through your head unlike a UK trackday where you can buy track insurance at a reasonable price and know you are fully covered. Regardless it is such a buzz to drive it and earn the sticker for your car.
Yeah it’s not somewhere you can really attempt a lap time. Far too much risk.

Haha I would say no but then again I drove the manual 4.0 GTS at Millbrook, I have to say it changed my mind.
Nice lap on the Ring and I wouldn't let a washing machine with 4 tiers get by either .

Super jealous, looks like a blast! I’m having some cayman r springs with koni shocks fitted right now to my 987, you’ve inspired me to get over there now. Also loved how you didn’t want a Tesla to get past 😂

@@JoeTalksCars I was in your boat, damper was going, then a spring broke so did a lot of research and cayman r with koni sport shocks seems to be the most cost effective slight upgrade route. I did a full suspension refresh too, spyder performance sell a full kit for good value
