Laptop charger supplies 19v. The charging voltage for a 12v batteey should 13.5v-14.2v. The 12v bulb is used to act as a resistor so that charging voltage across the battery terminals is around 13.5v to 14.2v. The bulb will aslo act as charge indicator being bright when battery charge is low and dimming when fully charged. Similar setup can be used to charge electric car toys with 12v batteries.

@@teamnarag I have an old mini laptop power supply output 12VDC of 2.1AMPS should work, it just may take longer to recharge my car battery. I've used it 30 years ago and it did start my old car battery and then had to replace the old battery. Should I use this to recharge my other car battery for emergencies to get it started or to hold its charge since I don't drive it much?
