If you are ever in Nashville you have to go the Underdog Monday night to see Guthrie Trapp Trio ! I had a total blast watching and listening to great music. Then the icing on the cake was meeting and talking with Guthrie. Very gracious. Got a photo with him too . I’ll never forget those moments for the rest of my life . I framed the picture and have it in my music room for motivation to practice !
I have come from Detroit just to see him play,,the real cherry on the top is the American Legion next night,next door to the Underdog ! Just finished the Road Manglers book,,,awesome stories
@@jeffsstuff6575 not really, but I would go early and get one of the last seats at the bar closest to the stage,make sure you go to his website and confirm he will be there on that particular monday sometimes he plays elsewhere,,,also,right next door at the American Legion on tuesday nights they have a barn dance ? kind of thing with some really good bands,,,last time I was there Chris Scruggs was there,,,its the real deal and you wont be disappointed,enjoy,much better than lower broadway,also go to the musicians hall of fame,,,makes the museum in cleveland look like a porta potty,,,enjoy

when i went to woodshed a few years back, i gotta say i think my favorite part was your very heartfelt and real take on the industry, battling some demons and getting your ass whipped mentally sometimes. it took balls to be that open and the brutal honesty is one of the great things about you bro. hope to catch up with you again some time soon! thanks for pouring 10000% into everything you do.
Loved seeing Guthrie at The Underdog last night! My wife and I are traveling to Italy from Northern Cali. In planning the trip I noticed that The Underdog is on the way there, so we stopped in to see the master. The Underdog is a great venue to see a great trio. Glad we made the detour!!

Last few years we hit the 5 spot to see Pat Sweany then Guthrie at the underdog right after. Being from Philadelphia and raising a toddler I don’t make it down there as much as I’d like but it’s always a great time. The underdog was packed last time I was there in the summer, just great music, great people and great times.
GT - just keep plugging away brother. Many of us are living vicariously through you as we can't do what you do and have to be a "working stiff" (lol). In those moments of digging deep, you find out who you truly are. I am sure there are days you are "fried" - and appreciate your honesty about it - it happens to all of us. But just keep at it - you have a lot to be proud of. Your focus on the music - not the business (although that is important aspect to make it work) - is what will see you through and connected to your fans - thanks, Guthrie! PS - take care of yourself!

I am a fan and follow you and watch a lot of your videos this kinda a talk is important and I like hearing this kinda a talk because I tend to have all the confidence in the world on stage until the stupidest thing happens, for instance, a Musical peer shows up to my gig and I see them and then all the sudden I am super focused about that individual or lose my focus or train of thought like I just lose it and start playing generically, normally I can just look at the ceiling and ignore it but the other night it just took over.. Man playing out sometimes is just a pain in the arsss.. Its almost like we are two guitar players 1- the loose relaxed player at home and the 2nd one stiff and nervous.
Interesting - where I am here - LIVE music is dying - It seems noone cares anymore about a live vibe - its def a post pandemic thing and that is obvious

It’s always cool to hear some pre and post gig comments Guthrie. Makes it all real and musicians can connect with good night, bad night gigging experience. It’s amazing with guys at your level and with such a busy schedule to be able to tune to that musical channel so often and not feel stuck in a rut. Good stuff man.
