@@aylbdrmadison1051 You're right: you can only answer to yourself and you never stop learning. I've been playing for 30 years and I can find my way around a bar band in the dark, but Guthrie is on a whole other level! His depth and breadth of knowledge make me wonder if I'll ever know half of what he's forgotten.
@@guthrietrappmusic My 54th birthday is this coming Cinco de Mayo. I'm asking my wife for a 3 month ArtistWorks subscription with you. Hope to see you this summer!!! Eric
All I can say is as an older player who subscribes to all three of you, if you ever wonder if the time you take to make all these video's is worth it, believe me it is. There is so much helpful stuff in just this one video and the fact you leave some minor mistakes in there and laugh tells me what kind of guys you all are. I just really appreciate it.
Guthrie actually is one of the only youtube people that actually answers comments he is not only a great player but he is a great person. He even actually came over to a meager little no view youtuber like me and listened to one of my songs
Nice guys don't always finish last boys and girls. Take notes. Guthrie has a legacy to consider. Consider yours as well. No need to be an a$$ in public or otherwise. If G want's to be an a$$, he'll just start comping and melt your face off. Polished gents know when to lay back in the cut and when to step forward and give a show (which is actually a lesson if you pay attention).
How refreshing to hear playing like this. No "shredding", no distortion, just pure tone and musicianship from these three great players. All I can say is THANK YOU!
I am in awe of how good a listener and a conversationalist Gunthrie is. Tim says something at 4:52 and he says it back at 7:51. So much respect and love...
Things I love about this video: these guys all seem really human, humble, and fun; the music is stunning, and I love that you leave in a couple of “outakes”.
Guthrie is from my neck of the woods (NW Florida/South Alabama) and it's almost criminal how no one around here knows who he is. He's one of my favorite players and it was awesome seeing him with Tim, another of my favorites.
Took a lesson with Guthrie and I play in open tuning exclusively and without making me change he adapted to my style and my mind was blown. So much more to learn from him. Guthrie, Ill be in Nashville soon I am calling you up.
I'm such a huge fan of Tim P's playing. One of the all time greats. And it's fun to see how he (and Guthrie) are so humble about what they do and that he continues to learn and sponge from other great players. It's a great reminder that you are never done learning. It keeps you young.
It’s always refreshing when one of the best session guitarists in the world and Nashville dosent know what mode that he’s in, brings hope to us mortals haha
I can t believe I just saw that for the first time. Mind blown through out. Going to watch at least 4 more times today. Not to mention I got chills from what they were playing. Masters indeed!
Tim….Thank you thank you thank you! This took me back to the mid 70s and sitting in the garage there with my brother plus at least two other guitarists. Obviously the level of playing was precipitously lower..But the vibe was the same so damn cool. It was just so satisfying seeing you guys interacting and missing out! Much much love to everyone.
When Tim goes, "Is that right?" Honestly, my heart sank, I grabbed the Scotch, poured 3 fingers a few times and went and watched Real Housewives of Orange County because I can at least understand that! I mean, if Tim is asking if something is right, wtf do I think I'm gonna do? Lol.... excellent as always! ;-)
Guthrie is one of those great players that is equally great as a teacher! That’s a real gift for all of us. Hats off to Tim, Brett and Guthrie for bringing us this video.
Three excellent musicians generously giving of their time and talent to enlighten the acolytes. What a pleasure to listen to these guys work their magic!
Wow... I could listen to you guys playing all day. I am most amazed, not just by technical skill, but rather the unique places you guys take a solo in regard to its own melody line. Guthrie went some places I wouldn't have ever imagined, and yet, when he got there it was like.... "yep, that is exactly where that solo needed to go." -Like chipping away the stone to reveal the angel that is already in the slab of marble.
Had the honor of meeting Guthrie Trapp in Nashville, and get a few lessons from him. That man contains so much music, that even when he 'lets loose' he still has like 90% in reserve. Such an overabundance of musicality!
At 3:03 GT starts into some low down nasty thing that should not fit but more than perfectly fits and Brett’s face lookin at Guthrie doing it IS PRECISELY the face I made 😂 made my day! Love this video. Watched it several times.
I was just sitting here watching your latest video thinking to myself that wow, aren't I so lucky to be living in a time of UA-cam where we have access to such amazing talent and content and we can see your fingers all up close in HD. There are so many nuggets in this one clip alone to keep me busy for years. Thank you all three! Love your channels!
Mr Tim Pierce you are just a Wonder to watch and listen to and it's great that you're also a fan of Guthrie Trapp who I recently learned about and I'm also Amazed by! Best of luck to you both!
Great little jam! I love how Guthrie emphasizes the basics (knowing the basic triad and 7th shapes all over the neck) as a starting point. Focusing on that lately has really been helping me fill in the gaps despite my playing for 20 years!
Thank you so much for posting this video Tim. Like you said at the end, there's nothing better than this. Just watching you all play together and hearing the amazing way you are all playing just blows my mind. I stopped playing guitar some years back because I felt I couldn't progress and was bored. I just started playing again, and am loving it, because of seeing recent videos like this of you Tim, Brett and Guthrie. It's so nice to hear music that makes you almost cry with joy. That's what I want to play too. I hope you keep on playing together and posting more videos. You guys are all awesome!!
Hi @Guthrie Trapp! Thanks for mentioning Robben Ford & Larry Carlton, but there was also some Django influence in there (diminished arpeggi and wholetone/half tone scales). Very cool. Thanks for this video Mr. Pierce! 👏
I have to say a big THANK YOU for letting me into pockets of your world. You guys are AMAZING and really inspire to want to learn more. I love watching you enjoy the little surprises each of you spring on each other. GREAT FUN❣️👍🏻
Guthrie is amazing - I came across his channel a while back, and he was demonstrating how to get good tone out of an amp. On a phone. and it sounded GREAT. On a crappy phone mic. Enough said.
I will be forever grateful to Guthrie Trapp for being the player who finally got me to "get" the tele in my own playing through my (most futile lol) attempts to learn some of the songs off his (excellent) album Pick Peace.
Love Tim's videos. Guthrie isn't the most articulate teacher, but the man has played so many shows and has so many interesting ideas that he's a blast to watch and rip some licks from.
Guthrie Trapp....one of the greats! Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Chet Atkins, Don Rich, Roy Clark, Hank Garland are all looking down and listening with their eyebrows raised, nodding to each other...."this kid's got some fire!"
Very Nice, caught on to your you tube channel about a year ago. I have been playing off and on for 35 yrs. I learned a lot and I just forgot about the basics. I’ve been called a instinctive player. I have one habit everybody tells me. I have a go to guitar I bring everywhere, no matter what style or tone.
It's great to see Tim challenged (Gives some credence to the saying that Guitar is something you learn all your life, no matter how good you are) And wow, that guy is great. And of course spending time with the Stash watching everything is great....
OK.... I have Officially Quit playing guitar for ever! This is beyond amazing, makes me feel like I’ve never even seen a fretboard before. Next level guys!
Guthrie is such an amazing musician. I really just stopped trying to learn his stuff and techniques and just do things that I have fun with, because Guthrie is a one in a billion guitar players. Just look at that piece on the fly at the end of the video, amazing!
Amazing talent, and Tim your great too ! LOL ! Guthrie took the smile off your face for a second ! Just like you do to all of us, mere mortals, every second you play. There may be hope !
Saw this only recently but have now watched many times. If I was in that room, I’d be sitting there exactly as you with my guitar pointed upwards not touching a string, expression on face like a deer in the headlights, massively intimidated by Gutthie’s incredible playing. lol just had to share that
I've learnt a hell of a lot from this video. For instance, before I watched this video I thought I was a guitarist...
Paul Coleman Ha! Funny. Thanks for watching!

The difference between to play the guitar and to make music. I am in the first category! Thanks!

Duane Wilson Thanks a lot man!!!
Great attitude brother, fully agree, cheers
Good to see you guys so excited to watch Guthrie play. I loved your reactions. Great video 👍👍

he is an awesome person and Tim seems like such a nice guy too ! Maybe you could check out some of my stuff ! thanks
hey no problem Tim seems like such a great guy too hes very humble but plays so great !

I love how Tim got just as excited seeing the magic as the rest of us.
It’s the part where Tim and Brett look at each other, smile and make the “are you kiddin me” face. Gotta love it. You guys rock.
How refreshing to hear playing like this. No "shredding", no distortion, just pure tone and musicianship from these three great players. All I can say is THANK YOU!

IKR damn. Might have to watch this one few more times. Dude is so sick
Hahaha.... totally true, Calvin!
Calvin Edmonson thanks for watching man!!!
I've got a Snark tuner just like the one at Tim's feet.......aaaaaand that's about all I've got in common with these guys. ;-0
I can't believe how humble these guys are and their playing is lights out.
Guthrie's tone brings a tear to my eye. Maaaan....
Guthrie's blues/jazz/country fusion is second to none as his passion for sharing the concepts behind it. Thanks to all 3 of you gentlemen.
Just unbelievable how great these guys are!! So much fun to watch!
Hooter Bear Thanks !!

Brett's giddy astonishment is highly entertaining and contagious.
The part from 11:50 to 12:55 is some of the best soloing I've ever heard. Just crazy how it flows out of Guthrie's fingers/mind.
My thoughts exactly, it was extremely beautiful

Watching Guthrie's fingers is mesmerizing.
I could literally sit here all day and watch this over and over.
Cool, I've been watching Guthrie for a couple years. He's among the best and so are the players he chooses to play with. Thanks for this vid!
Lee Hammond Thanks!! I’m a super lucky guy.
Guthrie's neck pickup tone in this video is the best Tele neck pickup tone I've ever heard.
Total masterclass by Guthrie Trapp. Love em all
