    Hello, I have just come across some of your UA-cam videos and they have really helped me this evening. I have been suffering with health anxiety on and off for the last 14 months and it's been really bad at the moment. The Dr wants me to go on meds but I genuinely feel that's not the right root for me.
    I have had a go at this and it made me feel so relaxed and even put a big smile on my face. I will definitely be using this technique every day. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

    I’ve been working on distraction exercises, but they’rr not really effective for me. Watching this video reminds me of how important a tender touch is, especially on ourselves, when what we need is loving affection, not just distraction.

    • @DrKateTruitt

    • @DrKateTruitt

      It's quite common for depression and anxiety to go hand in hand. Some people cycle between the two and others experience them both at the same time. The more we reduce stress and calm our brain and body the more likely we are to reduce the symptoms of both anxiety and depression.

    Havening Techniques relies on the principles of neuroscience to deactivate the trauma in the limbic system which results in a significantly decreased presentation of trauma and other fear-based disorder symptoms. "
    'Havening' is pseudoscience unsupported by any meaningful research," said Melissa Hunt, who has a doctorate in psychology and is an associate director of clinical training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
    What is true????

    • @davidrs91
      @davidrs91 11 місяців тому

      Try it and see if it works for you. If it's effective then it works, regardless of the mechanism.
      It's a leap to say that something that has limited research is necessarily 'pseudoscience'.

    • @DrKateTruitt
      @DrKateTruitt  8 місяців тому +1

      It's certainly a newer intervention but not pseudoscience. It's based on sound scientific principles. To be balanced, the article you're quoting, which I was also interviewed for, was published back in 2020. Here are a few research studies that have been published since then. Quite impressive results. 🤗
      It's always important to be discerning when exploring any treatment modality. I appreciate your questioning.
