A Guided Meditation for Nurturing Mind and Body Resilience with Dr. Kate Truit
In this guided meditation led by Dr. Kate Truitt, she helps us explore how to expand our mind and body's capacity to navigate both positive and challenging experiences.
Dr. Truitt introduces the technique of 'breath color titration,' guiding us through transitions between different emotional states with intentional attention. This method helps us build pathways in our brain towards the states of being we desire.
Notice how this exercise shifts your perception of earlier experiences and embrace any changes that arise. Remember that you're in the process of creating new pathways in your mind to access your preferred states whenever you choose.
Try this guided meditation to help you create space from anxiety: ua-cam.com/video/FSoi-sDCtNc/v-deo.html

    I was actually wondering if using another mental asset might help with my trauma looping?-which I realize is an individual thing-but in my case, I’m good at focusing on certain things such as remembering things…so when I am looping, I am listing in my mind as many things that I can remember that are in my bedroom (of course i could list basically anything-like old classmates I went to school with or whatever,) but so far it creates enough of a diversion from the trance of dark thoughts very effectively for me. Often just using the 5 senses don’t work deeply enough to anchor me into the feeling of safety-so they don’t get me out of the f/f/f/highjack.

    I’m new here, but you meant ‘Amy’ as in “Amy G. Dala,” right? 🤣 Dr., I’ve experienced a tough 9 months with job losses/changes full of financial stress. My Amy coaxed me to rely on my Lexapro a few days this week; hadn’t taken one for a few months. I hope to find a therapist I can afford for EMDR work. I meditate regularly, some days for hours if I ruminate in freeze response. It’s a comfort to know I do have medication that helps decrease panic attributing from Amy. 🙏

    Thank you, i've been in and out of therapy for years. I was diagnosed with CPTSD. I come out of therapy and think i have the tools to work with and I can be OK for perhaps a few years and then the triggers just come back. The thing is, i know within me what i need to do. It's just that i think i need my therapist to tell me again.

    • @DrKateTruitt
      @DrKateTruitt 10 днів тому

      Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's not uncommon for triggers to resurface even after periods of stability, especially with complex trauma. The cycle of feeling capable post-therapy and then feeling overwhelmed again when triggers appear is a challenge many face. It’s a testament to your resilience that you continue to seek support and recognize when you need reinforcement. It’s great that you have an awareness of the tools that help and a sense of what you need to do. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to need reminders and support from a therapist. Each session can reinforce your resilience and equip you with the confidence to use your tools more independently over time. You’re doing important work by managing your health, and it's admirable how proactive you are in understanding and addressing your needs. Sending you much warmth and healing 😊❤️

CBT can offer valuable tools and insights, but sometimes, the complexities of our experiences and emotions are like the ocean-vast and deep, with currents that shift over time. Remember, healing isn't always about graduating or reaching a final point; it's more about ongoing discovery and managing waves as they come.
