This is it: you don't know, but you have about one hour to make love for the last time.
When I was a kid I loved the action and heroism a world war could bring, the emotion of challenges and thinking I could be a leader of my community, never stopped watching movies of that style. Now as a grown man, seeing all the current situation regarding geopolitics, China, Nato, Russia, Mid East, all people suffering and facing an escalade of conflicts between global powers... From the deepest of my heart I just want peace, a future for my family and all other people like me arround the world struggling to get to the next day, in a trench, seeking for a plate of food.

Well said.
Everyone would be asking at a moment like this, “Is it too late to cancel the Manhattan Project?”
War is just a a bunch of old men using young men to do their bidding.
Obviously sometimes a side is people genuinely fighting for their way of life, but the former is what normally starts it.
Hollywood is responsible for making you feel that way in the movies you watch and TV shows brother
Remember all of the vintage atomic test footage? The bombs they used in those tests were underpowered and obsolete *at* *the* *time* *those* *tests* *were* *filmed* . There is also a lot of other things about nuclear war that they really glossed over, often making it seem like it's going to just be an extended snow day for those outside of the major cities and radiation was something that could be dealt with just using standard hygiene practices. 😐
And there would be nothing "heroic" about a nuclear war. Just men sitting at consoles turning keys and pushing buttons, as the top brass go into hiding. And other soldiers and civilians alike get cooked to a crisp in an instant, or slowly and painfully die, or fight over the last remaining scraps depending on where they were inside and outside the blast radius. Nothing to romanticize about that

I was 8 years old during the Cuban missile crisis. My mom crying, her, I and my little brother taking shelter in the basement listening to the radio my dad a ww2 vet working at the gas station.
Inspiration for a new ambience 👍Thanks for tuning in.
I remember the Cuban missile crisis. Instead of fire drills in school, we had bomb drills. MN
@Linda-n3w that makes you a cold War veteran!
I was born in 1963. In 1970, an air raid siren would go off once a week. All I know is it had something to do with the Cold War, or so I was told. I was in grade at the time in Spokane, Washington. It usually happened during lunch, and all of the kids were supposed to get down in a 'bombing position'. The siren was 5 blocks away, yet it was so loud it hurt our ears. I remember one afternoon, while on the playground, after lunch, we all got up and started playing. After that, we kids would play while the siten was going. I must have lasted for 10 minutes, maybe longer.
I spent the Cuban Missile Crisis in a bomb shelter on a US Air Force base in Germany. I was also 8. I slept on top of a 55 gallon drum of water. The adults were terrified, and had no chance to hide it. We didn't see my dad, a Master Sergeant admin clerk for the fighter wing, for an entire week. I was told later that the F-4's on the base were nuclear capable, and were kept at the end of the runway, engines running. Good times, good times.
Just practicing before it happens, just so I can sleep better when the time comes
This is the way.
You’ll be drafted bro
@@tariz32 they wouldn't take me even after trying to join over 20 times
@@DeeRock1996 They would when the time comes. The higher Earth's population becomes, the higher the casualties will be in the event of a nuclear war. The percentages of the populations will be the same, but the numbers will be greater. Now, I don't know literally any *thing* about you, but if you are physically capable to survive your day to day life now as is on your own, then the United States Military - or what's left of it - can, and will draft you into this new war. And you will probably not survive... I'm just being realistic. I, statistically speaking, will not survive too. Not trying to be all religious on you if you don't believe in these sort of things, but what you can do is pray. You can pray, not just for yourself, but for those around you. And your family, and your friends. And for the friends and families of everyone because not many people will survive the nuclear blasts, but hopefully enough of good people will survive that the human race will not only continue, but for it to be worth it for the human race to do so.

Even knowing that you won't be hit, you can't help but cry for those many hundreds of millions unlucky enough to be in the crossfire. Sadness and fear grips your soul as you think of the horrors befalling the world, and the chaos that will soon spread to the rest of humanity.
Scary stuff
I've always thought of Mexico, imagine seeing the blasts of Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, San Diego, LA, Dyess AFB, Vandenberg AFB, and other bases. A few hours later people fleeing from the conflict start entering Mexico, some with wounds but all with a dead look in their eyes.
That would be terrifying
There would not be any place safe from the fallout and famine that would result from all the farmlands of the world being contaminated with radiation.
Switzerland moment.
Who cares get up all the check
the worst part about this is that if its raining this bad and your area is near a target from a strategic nuclear weapon, not only are the chances of successful interception by missile defense low, but the radioactive fallout will spread much faster due to the strong winds and rain. On the bright side, it may help prevent the spread of fires. But radiation almost always in the number one killer in a potential nuclear attack. Thats because while it's effects are not usually immediate, it persists in lethal amounts anywhere from 2 weeks minimum to over a month. Then there's the secondary less lethal but more long term effects such as cancer, tumors, stillborn birth, becoming barren and unable to have children, among many other things. The reason nukes arent used or desired to be used is simply because its effects are practically permanent. It isnt a normal bomb in that after detonation aside from fire or debris, there really is no harm towards the long term habitation of the affected environment. When radiation from a nuclear weapon could potentially persist to harmful amounts for centuries. Making much of the planet's best habitable land uninhabitable. In the event of a mass nuclear exchange, society will largely end except for surviving military elements keeping the peace in nearby surviving communities.
In the event of a nuclear attack like this, your best bet is to hunker down as deep underground as possible for at least 1 to 3 months. The longer, the better. Ideally you would want a bunker with an air filtration system rated to filter out radioactive fallout from air particles into the bunker. If you dont have it, use gas masks as much as possible except for doing essential actions like eating or drinking. Dont drink ground water after an attack as it most likely is contaminated with pollutants, sewage, and quite possibly radiation. If you have prior warning and time, stock up on as much water as possible from sinks, tubs, and attempt to seal it from the outside. Including preventing air circulation from the outside. Without substantial water reserves, you will not survive the first week of a major nuclear attack.
If you manage to make contact with military or federal organizations still operational after the attack, follow evacuation directions or directions issued to you from them. After a major mass cas attack, people will become the most vital resource for the country. Meaning that you should put trust into the surviving leadership and follow their instruction as your survival is paramount to their own well being in rebuilding society. If there is no remaining federal or state level government left that you cant make contact with, try finding a group of other people to work with as you will not survive alone long.
Your best chance to long term survival in a long term societal collapse and complete loss of government is to make your way to higher terrain. Preferably mountainous regions. Which can provide clean water directly from the source and drastically reduce radiation fallout exposure as the polluted winds will be trapped in the lower lands such as valleys. These places cannot usually maintain large populations, but a small group of survivors could potentially make a small settlement in the mountains to survive long term.
Ultimately though, your chances of surviving a global nuclear war is almost none. Even if your rich or powerful. If a war gets that bad, its very likely the entire world will be irreparably damaged for hundreds if not thousands of years, and we might all starve out before food supplies in the environment can recover enough to keep us alive. Its very likely that if anyone were to survive long term in a war like this, it would only be very small groups of survivors. In which a lack of genetic diversity would ultimately send us to extinction as there is not enough genetic variety to effectively repopulate the earth to a stable degree. Meaning that within one to two generations, our entire species will probably go extinct anyways due to a lack of remaining population to rebuild with. Disease, and potential further resource wars would also contribute to the ultimately extinction of the human race.
Just pray you never have to witness this in your lifetime.
Well said👍
Even if one one-thousandth of one percent of all people survive, that's still 60,000 people. If sheltered in remote places upon the beginning of a nuclear war, that would still be enough for humanity to continue after a couple thousand years. We're not going to die off. No amount of nuking can kill all the people. No amount can destroy all the roads and means of communications. No amount can exterminate all viable life on Earth.
did u hear they made nukes with no fallout now
i think if your rich an have an underground shelter stocked up u can survive

What impressed me the most besides the deep booming sound of the drums was the portable generator that kept the house across the street & the two street lights well lit throughout the ordeal. Must have been a Harbor Freight model! The cat that kept showing up crossing the street @ the same place/same direction every four/five minutes unnerved me a bit though. All I can say is; "I don't care if it rains or freezes, as long as I'm not blowing radioactive sneezes!"
That last line is just PERFECT for a Fallout themed disinfecting fluid/tissue
You can see the video loop right after the cat.
I was a teenager during the Cuban missile crisis. My dad was a command pilot in a B 52 bomber wing. He was gone for over 2 weeks orbiting over northest Canada and Greenland for a go order....which never came. As kids on a military base, we weren't taught the duck and cover crap. We knew better. When my dad got back home, he slept for 2 days and really wasn't the same afterwards.
I'm sorry to hear that. Too much staring at our morality isn't good for us.
This was eerie and haunting as hell...I started listening to it at night when I should have been in bed already but couldn't stop listening to it until the very end, like I was entranced somehow. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but this worked out to add even more tension and atmosphere: the broadcasts seemed to be delayed and almost out of order like the info was being delayed just enough to make someone even more frantic and to not quite make sense in an orderly fashion, or the situation fell to crap very quickly when stuff wasn't working out as planned...I.E.- the 6 initial missiles being talked about for awhile, then the US and Nato firing the ~20 ICBM's back at Russia to cripple the aggressor, but they apparently didn't work, Russia invading Alaska and taking over a part of Canada, the President giving the little speech saying something about there was communication with the Russian president and they were supposedly open to peace talks, then randomly the US, France, UK and India launching 24 further nuclear missiles into Russia, then a little bit later towards the end the very haunting message of Russia sending 40 nukes to wipe out the US major city zones and the cold robotic voice saying this would cause a nuclear winter, more or less killing off the entire food supply and dropping the Earth's temperature quite a bit for years... If you weren't chosen to go into the US gov fallout shelters you were basically SOL. The more I think about it I don't think I'll ever forget how haunting it all was, the raging thunderstorm overhead all the while masking or mimicking the sounds of the bombs going off. Like the Earth was angry that humans, no matter the consequences and despite living in the modern age with more or less the entirety of information known to man available at any time with a query into our modern pocket computer smartphones, weren't able to overcome our savage nature. The robotic voice saying to euthanize pets outside, and the body being able to be buried in 2 weeks and if someone got sick and died from the radiation to not touch them and put a blanket if possible over the body until 2 weeks had passed was pretty cold and haunting too... I don't know why, but, last night after listening to this I actually slept really deep and good for the first time in awhile, I had been quite sleep deprived lately with some sinus crap unable to sleep for more than a few hours and do a little broken up nap in the afternoon which still wasn't enough. Bravo on the video, I'm not sure if you've done any, but if not, some vids detailing the start of a zombie apocalypse would be cool too on a rainy night, or even an escaped murderer from an insane asylum loose in your state on a rainy night, then the info slowly zeroing in on your county general area, then your metro area, then your town, then the power being cut off to your neighborhood so the tv news stops, static being played as if someone turned on a handheld radio, then when tuned into the right station in the middle of another broadcast you hear police are looking in your area, to turn all lights out and to not make any noise or open the door for anyone, it could maybe end with something softly knocking at the door, when you don't answer the knob turning, and it ending with glass breaking, sirens in the distance somewhat getting closer, and some deranged breathing and grunting as the insane murderer lumbers around your house looking for their next victim as you try and remain hidden, with the true ending being left up to interpretation if you made it out alive that night as the sirens seemingly stop outside your house with the storm still going :P

HAHAHAHA! Good luck youngster! 😆😆😆😆😆😆
I don't know why, but videos like this simultaneously get me going, and calm me down.
Need to sleepover at a friends house so when we go to bed I can go “mind if I put some ambience to go to sleep” then watch them be confused as hell to this.
The good thing about rain is it helps you move silently. The bad thing about it is hypothermia if it's really cold and you can't stay dry.
The bad thing about modern vehicles is try turning off the lights while you drive... all of them. Good luck with that.
Can you defend your food storage ? Do you have enough water ? Can you filter and purify water ?
Many aren't prepared and many will die fighting for resources
Turning off the lights on a vehicle? That's what black spray paints for. In this scenario, the days of vehicles, are done.
And the answer to the 3 questions...
Yes, yes and yes.
Stay safe my friend.

@@OLBeefcat1992 New vehicles have a lot of lights on the inside. You'll have to disable them all..... if you can even drive at that point. Not sure if you've heard... they want to mandate a "kill switch" starting 2026 in ALL vehicles.
@@rascalmatt6713 yep, I've heard of the kill switch installation. Dealerships will probably charge you for it, in the final paperwork 😹
Nothing more soothing on a warm summer night than heavy rainfalls.
I have to agree
And air raid sirens
This would be brilliant in its own app. Essentially a radio tuner with a time option (before war, during war, after war), it'd allow you to move the audio source around (so when wearing headphones it can sound like it's in the next room) & optional ambient track.
If you agree give this comment a like so the channel sees it, I have a proof of concept and I've emailed with no reply!
Well, the last 5 minutes were pure horror
That a another level of horor
I saw two suns on this day. One at midnight and we were not in Alaska.
Came for a random ambience video, stayed for once of the best and most grounded EAS horror videos I've ever heard.
Cheers!
Finally my two favorite flavors of UA-cam content in one convenient package
This is unironically calming
I used to think the Preppers were ridiculous. No, they weren't..that's why I sold everything and left the city, moved to huge acreage on a river in the mountains. If I can survive the nuclear fallout, I can survive anything here. I believe in arming yourself and becoming very proficient in such. Pretty much living off the grid, growing our own food, and being as self sufficient as possible.
Well said Julie👍

But having internet is still nice eh?
When nuclear winter arrived, you're cooked anyway.
I am listening to this on April 15, 2024.
Not sleeping
Those brief bits of thunder sound almost like they're nuclear explosions going off in the far distance.
Yea there were a bit too many...
Ninety-nine dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standing pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go..

If the beginning of the nuclear apocalypse could only be so soothing...
This reminds me of an equally grim, old Ray Bradbury story title; "There will come soft rains." That story still hits pretty hard.
I am literally learning that story in my Grade 7 English class!
@@planatgame Right on! Cool to know that Bradbury is still 'required reading' in some schools.
Bradbury is always listed among the greats, authors of old-school science fiction (Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke) though he was in a class all of his own.
If you grew up in the sixties you would know there was a lot of people extremely worried about a similar situation. As an eight y/o having “ duck & cover” drills in school not realizing @ the time this my desk would not save me. Now we have multiple activities happening around the globe & it’s not a matter of if anymore but when?
😬😬
I've got one of those wooden desk from grade school to get under so I'm good!
Better than any bunker 😃
practically indestructable
Underrated comment!!! 😂
I am glad this exists actually, in the hopes it will make more people realise how crazy it is to "saber rattle" when nuclear weapons are involved
Came for the ADD relief but stayed for the energy boost. Having your survival instincts kick in is almost as good as coffee.

Mira safety sells CBRN equipment for pets, kids and adults if anyone would prefer to not euthanize their pets. There's also tons of videos on preparing your home for fallout if you survive the blast.
You have my respect for this comment. Saved some lives here❤
I think the point is that they would require resources that would keep you and your family alive another day. Still, I wouldn’t be killing my pet. I’d it’s that bad it’s euthanize-unalive for me.
One gripe: In the event of an initial volley of nukes, you got the number right, but the locations incorrect.
6 ICBM = 24-36 warheads.
1. DC but not how you think. First target isnt the White House as that's just a sentimental target. Andrews, Camp David, Ravenwood in WV, Baltimore for the ports.
2. Yes to Nebraska. Several installations including NORAD there. One of these warheads goes to Minot as it's the primary bomber Base.
3. Pennsylvania and Ohio if it was 1960. Now it's Arkansas and Missouri. Thats 2/3 of your ICBM in the USA in Arkansas and Missouri alone. 3/4 of the Cargo planes in America's military are based outta Jacksonville, Ar. 1/2 the Ground support aircraft is in Missouri and Ft. Smith AR.
4. Not Texas but Kansas and Colorado yes. Both house major military infrastructure. Texas just has bases, mostly.
5. Boston and New York for the ports.
6. Hawaii. That's still most of our Pac Fleet.
Sorry to nitpick. This is often gotten wrong. If you're sending a warning, you send 6. You get POTUS, LoS is probably cooked, Bos/NYC is the black eye, everything else is strictly strategic. California isnt really major except for San Diego. Nevada would get erased, it's our "X" Area, the experimental tech. From the B2 to the F22, everything we innovate is from there.
If you're going full nuts to the light socket, you send everything and hope they cant respond. This scenario indicates a hit and quit. That's devastating but survivable.
Hearing this while still asleep in bed is definitely not the best time to get such warning.....
Imagine falling asleep to some calm music and waking up to this video that UA-cam started autoplaying. 💀
Holy Molloy!!!
Horrifying how unprepared I am for a situation like this.
Really makes you think!
Nothing like the pitter patter of soothing rain, followed by; a quick soothing vaporisation or, slow melt depending on your vicinity to the nearest air or, ground burst. Nighty night, don’t let the bed bugs bite.
Watching this while i have 432hz classical music playing in the background.. somehow the music makes it feel more realistic and haunting.
this is terrifyingly impressive. I could never sleep to this with the dreams im having lately. but this is frankly. bone chilling impressive lol
Thanks a lot, really appreciate that.
I'm so relaxed right now
Glad to hear
Nice knowing yall.
My Lifes Goal, Just Over The Horizon....
I can almost promise it will take place in the early morning. Inner city business will only have overnight workers, so more infrastructure damage, less casualties. Emergency response crews always are short staffed in the overnight hours. Prepare accordingly.
And, most of our political and military leaders will most likely be exhausted by recent world events, and asleep. This is when retaliatory response will be at its slowest. By initiating a 'first strike", the enemy will most likely carry through with total nuclear commitment, as well as conventional attacks.
Subbed. ❤
Just found this tonight and listened to it while reading comments. It creates a lot of mixed feelings. My ex-military side tells me to lay down, breathe evenly and try to sleep, while the side of me that has returned to being civilian feels my heart sink into my chest. That impending doom feeling. That side of me just wants to walk outside and let it come. Just make it quick. Sad, I know.
The whole video is very well done though, I 100% agree!
Was watching the "small animal" crossing the road, realizing that it was a loop, but other then that, I loved it. Think it's a cat or raccoon?? Lol. I wouldn't worry about it. It's meant for listening.
BTW, thank you for adding the Canadian warnings as well. We're only next door to you guys. 🍁 If it hits you, it'll hit us too.
In the end, working together against a common enemy is where it'll matter most. I would just as soon lay my life down for American friends as I would my fellow Canucks. It's about mutual respect. Dunno why we hate each other so much lately...
Much appreciated. Thank you for listening and subbing.
I am not American, however, I do know a few Canadians. Great bunch of lads as well. All the best 👍
I'm American and I don't hate yall I think you guys are great, I actually think most of us do it's our leaders noone likes. Definitely not the people.
The comments and conversations on these videos might just be my new favorite thing. It reminds me of forums I used to hang out on in the early 2000’s that seem to be no more.
Our leaders are our enemies. It’s no more simple than that these days.
Growing up in the 80s this was always on the back of many peoples minds.
Its probably on the back of a lot of peoples minds again now. Thanks for listening.
I was wondering if everything was gonna loop until the video was over but nope, the final string of sound begins at 1:03:55
The way things are right now this could be a real soundtrack…
Exactly...
boy these ambience videos are getting really intense.
I use this video to help me sleep, it gives me hope for what needs to be done

I had to replay certain radio bits to make sure my headphones weren't messed up. Great job with this!
With the war in Ukraine, Israel and so-on, this might not be far off...
There is always a war going on somewhere in the world at any given time. It's practically a way of life in the Middle East and Africa. Just because it doesn't make front page news doesn't mean it isn't happening.
We've been saying this for the past 20 years now... Its not happening just because of small wars.
@@thecapitalg It's never *going* to happen either.

What’s crazy to think about is we are closer to this reality than most people want to admit. All it takes is one mistake from either side and we’re done for.
This truly horrific situation could not be fathomed by anyone with a sane mind. To the people that want an apocalyptic future and want chaos, trust me you don’t.

When you grew up in the 70's and 80's there was always a bit of dread you kept locked away in the back of your mind.
Oh my god hell yes there was
It's not like that risk is completely gone though. Especially given the possibility that Russia just handed North Korea a nuke.
i dont think its scary because its not a threat anymore, its just because they make ncuelar threats so often now that we've become desensitized. like come on just put me out of my misery already

Happy to hear. Any requests?
Chilling to say the least.
It's September 12th, 2024 and this is right at the doorstep. Prepare now. And if you have to get yourself to a shelter by way of vehicle or later secure provisions after the first 72 hours, make sure to begin a practice of filling your vehicle's gas tank every time it hits the halfway mark, starting now. That is now the empty mark on your gas tank. Good luck, everyone ✊
That has always been the scariest sound in the world to me; the Emergency Alert System. The most ominous sound I can think of...
Or Air Raid Sirens
The risk of a nuclear winter is completely overblown. In the scenario in the video only a few dozen warheads are launched, some of which will be intercepted. This is nothing when you consider that IRL thousands of nuclear bombs have been detonated as part of tests. Also the only way to cool the Earth is to reflect sunlight over a large area for a long period. In the past century massive wildfires, massive volcanic eruptions, and massive oil fires such as during the Gulf War all have had barely noticeable affects on global climate. Even full scale nuclear war with thousands of warheads has been scientifically estimated to kill approximately 10% of the global population, and practically zero in the Southern Hemisphere.
There has actually been numerous studies and investigations about that.. different sources have estimated that it could take as little as 26 warheads exceeding one megaton each, to start nuclear winter on this world.. They would kick a sufficiently high enough amount of dust and debris into the atmosphere so as to lower average global temperatures by several degrees for a minimum of 10 years.
Yeah you keep telling yourself that. I'll tell you the problem with prideful ignorance like yours. It's reflected in the mindset and decision making of the people who have the power to make sure we all don't have to find out the hard way just how F.O.S. such thinking really is. Nobody with such profound self delusion should be within a nautical mile of the nuclear football.
More than half the tests you just mentioned were isolated singular tests and a great many of those were underground. They aren't done over population centers, where millions of people at a time per city will not only have to deal with 50 million degree heat, but raging fires, gamma radiation, starvation, water table destruction, and disease in the aftermath, if they survive initial attack.
You are comparing forest and oil fires with nuclear bombs as if you have no clue how radiation works in the atmosphere. As if you've never heard of Pripyat and noticed that almost 4 decades later it still is not inhabitable whereas absolutely nothing like that has ever resulted from "oil fires". As if you've no idea that in exactly none of the extinction level events this Earth has suffered did it matter that the Earth itself wasn't destroyed because 80% of the living creatures on it were dead within mere months and that this is the only problem mankind needs to find unsolvable to debunk your 10% figure. As if you've paid no attention to the scaling of the power and sheer number of nukes since WWII. As if you've no idea that radiation as well as the contaminants from radioactive fires travels on air and will circumvent the globe the same way volcanic ash does except gamma radiation goes through walls and changes DNA. And that even if the causation of death in the Southern hemisphere is different than the Northern, this is a dependent interconnected world economy which means what destroys the North will quickly affect the South.
As if you really believe the definition of "nuclear winter" stops at whether or not sunlight can reach the Earth and whether or not it's still beach weather. And all of this doesn't even cover the carnage that the complete destruction of electric grids and the reduction of society to the 1800s will result in, in a world population that has lost the skills to live off the land. We'd reach your 10% figure two weeks beyond the loss of the ability to refrigerate food even without the nukes. So like I said. Keep telling yourself what you need to. Just do people you know a favor and don't sell them such bad bags of produce.
Yeah, I’m sure this will help me to sleep better.

I remember this in the 60s growing up. Test would be on tv and the radio. At school we had drills to go in the hallway and cover our heads.
I actually fell asleep to this video. It didn't bother me at the least because I actually accepted the fact that one day it will happen. We have no control of what's meant to be and theirs nothing we can do to change it or even avoid it. That's just my opinion. Thank you for sharing your video.👍
I fell asleep too.
I think we wouldnt live to see ww3...
Because climate change.
I've been quietly preparing for something like this for years. Quietly, because I don't want to scare the shit out of my kids and grandkids. If something like this happens, even if your area is not targeted life will become very difficult. If your area is targeted, you can survive if you can put enough shielding between you and the outside.
Good luck Mr.Jones. Strange times we live in.
@ambientescapade3746 In deed they are.
Yeah I remember when in school getting either under my desk or going out into the hallway tucked on the floor and facing the wall. Drilling every Friday.
